    on the first exercise when he started and gradually started sharpening up his movement thanks to your instruction, I saw his rotation force went through the roof, i saw a massive push/pull happening on his obliques...this stuff is legit.

      k-os bboy Idk for sure but in grappling there's times when you're going inverted and being able to balance and recover w the explosive move,ent at the end might mimic exploding off the ground back to your feet amd clinching up to snap down the opponent? just a thought...id love to know too

      I think it just to activate those fast twitch fibers sooner in acrobatic/funky positions, like the cartwheel from the overhook for example. Its training you to keep a steady flow as you transition from floating over top(the cartwheel part), then contracting your muscles and preparing to score(the medicine ball smash).

      It's so you can build momentum, that way your muscles don't have to work as hard because of inertia and centripetal force.

    Interesting as usual. Now for an athlete like this, does he do additional weight training for strength? This style of training isn't going to build a physique and isn't optimal for the development of maximal strength. It works on movement patterns and effective efficient force transfer. Have you ever developed a teenage athlete? Underweight, weak, lanky, using nothing but FP training? That is what keeps me from outright agreeing with everything and adopting this style of training. Could you one day do a video addressing that if others have that concern as well? Make a case for FP training for individuals with those needs.

      Not gonna build physique? Check out that dude. And I took myself at age 14 from a 140lb skinny kid to a 180lb 15 year old with over 300lb lifts and 4.7 40 and improved from there as I got older through HS simply through the big 4 lifts, bench/squat/deads/cleans and alot of plyometrics. Jumps/sprints with bands and eating enough clean protein to pack it on. Now I'm 32 and I don't maintain that kind of fitness level.

      I understand your arguments and I also understand the fp system (read the book) but your probably not that strong/big and don't really know what it takes to build enough mass for for example american football.
      Those movements are too complex to build one/two joint strength/explosivnes (for example hips and knees) that's needed for sports like American Football, because A) You don't have enough weight (unless you have those crazy cable towers like in the video/But I also don't really know if even they can really offer enough weight)
      and B)The movements are too complex for efficient progressive overload, because a slight change in the movement makes a big difference.
      Like I said for moving patterns/learning how to use the muscle mass built with heavy lifting, they are great, but for gaining muscle? For the reasons above it will not work.
      The Intensity is just too low.
      **You also cannot go low with the reps, which is needed for getting explosive and building up a lot of fast muscle fibers.**

    • @ajgambs44
      @ajgambs44 7 років тому

      Alain S. totally agree. I was saying his physique shows you can build some muscle and probably lose fat.
      In college I was 5'10" 190 lb and 12% bf w squat and dead over 375 each (14 years ago, not 100%on exact#) but yes, it was all from low to medium rep Olympic and compound movement, along with a lot of plyos, band resistance running, and playing the sport. Back then the thought was to use cleans as building hip power and deadlifts and squats for overall explosiveness.
      obviously those methods aren't sound today, but the mass building protocol remain the same.
      now I'm 33 and 195 lb at 15%bf and Mt routine is built around compound movements for strength and conditioning sessions with all types of equipment like bells, bags, balls, barbell bodyweight etc. that mimics 5 minute rounds for Brazilian JU Jitsu for which I practice. The FP stuff has been incorporated slowly as I've just come across this site.
      Great post btw
