Okay, that was weird! Saturday, I was reminiscing about my childhood in the Bay Area, and I was telling my friend about Fentons, and the Black & Tan sundae. It had been years since I thought about it. And then your vlog drops! Loved it!

I lived on Lombard in the mid 80’s the next block down from crooked street. My apartment was used in MTV real worlds.
Fentons is amazing... so many special memories eating crab sandwiches and black&tans with family. I was booked to fly out there for my Nana’s bday in April... then came the situation. Thanks for reminding me of good times during these not so good times! ❤️❤️❤️

I lived in Oakland and went to Fenton's a lot in high school.
Even before the pandemic some of my favorite memories of adventures by car were unplanned trips with a very few must see spots sprinkled in. So, enjoy your adventure, too.

I don't live far from Fenton's and last time I was in January before the pandemic. I've never seen the place so empty, I'm usually sitting outside in the cold eating my ice cream, similar to Carl and Russle.
My kids are obsessed with UP, and they would watch it all the time at my parent's house. My mom was saying she has seen the movie several times, but never caught the end. I told her they go to Fenton's and she totally thought I was joking.

So we’re thinking it wasn’t in Chinatown where we went.. We couldn’t find parking and it started raining so hard, so we found this place near Daly City, called Beijing something, trying to find the name of it right now

The ice cream looked amazing wanted some so badly. Lombard Street is a trip, it really is different but I would not want to park my car there, and we also got chinese food the same day you did and it was so good.

I love going to Oakland! Pasta Pelican is my favorite restaurant ever!! It's a must try restaurant in Oakland. I get the cheese raviolis.
Just FYI abut Pixar yes the lamp lights up and if you look at the main building its named after Steve Jobs and also if you look at at the top of the buildings you see the seagulls from finding Nemo.
I recently tried an ice cream shop called, The Emporium, in Ripon, Ca
It felt like a trip to Main St Disneyland. Gibson girl vibes for sure. Disney music playing in the background. It did my heart good

Fentons is literally 100% the best! I have mixed memories there as I buried my grandmother near there, but I also celebrated my bffs 17 birthday there. Still, some of the best ice cream in the Bay Area!

Oakland raised and bay area all day Dryers ( Disney) is not as good as fentons but fentons isn’t the best in the bay. Lapperts in Sausalito is not overpriced and better. Or lords in alameda. You pay for the experience In Fentons
The Chinese food looks amazing! You guys need to check out Din Tai Fung- the noodles and dumplings are so so good!

Fentons was THE place to go after any special event. Drive up the hill through my home town Piedmont. Gorgeous city park.
I grew up on fentons. My mom did too. When I as teenager, 100 yrs ago, I belonged to a square dance group and we all new would all head up to fentons after. I remember when fententons when it as on Howe st, which is very close to where it is now. If you grew up in Oakland, which I did, you knew fentons. Best in the world. So glad you tried it.
