@Elias Leal Yang is a Right wing grifter who is explicitly pushing the Milton Friedman model of UBI. He's more in the camp of fascists like Pinochet than he has anything to do with the emergence of a new Left. God help us all if he gets the nomination. Not just national. I would say international. They are a model of integrity to look up to everywhere in the world.
Also, as a foreigner I can say that sometimes it's just too easy to resent the US as a whole for many destabilizing decisions in foreign or economic policy and the consequences they have all over the world. People like Matt, Katie, Chris (and others like Aaron Maté, Max Bluementhal, Lee Camp, Jimmy Dore and many others that don't come to my mind right now) help reminding foreigners like me that most US citizens are as much victims of a grindhouse socio-economic system as everybody else in the world. Tulsi got a real taste in the last week of what happens once you challenge the MSM narrative about America’s role in the world. If Bernie wins the nomination, a BIG if but one I am hoping for, then I hope he taps her as his VP running mate. Two outsiders taking on the system and in some ways similar to what Trump did in 2016 though of course his campaign was false in what it actually intended to accomplish.

I had a bunch of friends get mad at me back in 2008, when they were all going to the pub to 'watch the debates' (Obama/ McCain) like that was something fun to do. I told them, "Washington is just Hollywood for people with a college education." They didn't like that, but it was true then and seems even more accurate today.

I've just read the book Don't Label Me by Irshad Manji : it's a call for bringing common sense back into social relations.
Everybody seems to have an agenda now and social media seems to instigate conflict between agendas.
I'm also reading tome 2 of Building the American Republic : many of the social and economic conflicts that we have right now have their double in past American History.
Problem is : it takes time reading a history book and people's attention span seems to be getting shorter and shorter.
