It's good to try alternative cars, I always do the opposite to any meta car or supposedly meta cars because depending on the combo you're not necessarily going to be faster in said meta car if it doesn't suit your style for whatever reason.

I was reasonably fast in the 2016 Lexus and my weekend testing under BOP conditions with same tire wear showed that the GT-1 had fantastic tire wear and I was competitive against the AI but I dare not try this car into the real race with my skill level, I reverted to the NSX and I'm very happy with that car, playing VR with a Logitech direct drive and load cell pedals. I wish I had more skill to be competitive in the GT-1 as I really adore driving that car it looks and sounds fantastic.
You like the GT-One in VR. I feel like i dont have enough vision around the car (mirror). So yea when im alone its fine but in the race i cant use.

Try the Audi! I'm having lots of fun in it. DRS makes passing NSX's easy on the straights, and it's no slouch in the corners. Tire wear is okay... I generally pit on lap 5 to undercut, but my front tire is hurting on the final lap. Might be better to pit on lap 6.

I started doing testing with each new car and each view while racing, and the GT-One I'm basically just as fast cockpit as I am hood cam. The Bumper Cam is still quite fast, but feels soooooo low lol.
I have had really good luck with the Lexus also 👍😊

Maybe, I watched it a few times since and it's hard to judge, could be delayed steering as well.
I feel like I need to run the higher downforce cars to be competitive most of the time, idk if that's a limitation of controller driving or what, so I'm kinda stuck with the NSX.

The Lexus is great, shame the lobbies I’m in are full of ram passers and petulant drivers. Most races are ruined by this sadly.
In the first race wouldn't it have been better to do your pit early so that you get the rest of the race to catch up?
They bop on the GT-one is not good imo, to me it feels like it's got way too much rear downforce which makes the car understeer heavily at high speed, but the suspension is way too hard on the back or too soft on the front and causes it to lose the rear end in low speed corners once the turbo kicks in
The bop has no effect on downforce or car setup. It just reverts whatever you have back to what the car had when it was stock.
@@neblolthecarnerd no doubt you're right, but when I manually adjusted the settings to match the power and weight and took the GT-one around fuji it handled very differently, so something is up with the BOP that is more than just weight and power imo
It still had a slight understeer tendency at mid to high speed, but was much more controllable at low speed, and that's what's making me think that something is off about the rest of the settings
@@PaulTheFox1988 is it the tyres you were using? Not just the compound but the handling issues could come with tyre wear or the temperature?
@@neblolthecarnerd good point, I'd need to run the tests again, unfortunately the game doesn't make it easy to exactly match the settings used for a time trial, so perhaps I missed something there 😅
I did use the same tyres and try to match the time of day and weather, but I don't doubt I missed something or couldn't make an exact match when testing it
@@PaulTheFox1988 in time trial the tyres wear and tyre temps are turned off. To get them active the best way is to probably open a private multiplayer lobby with tyre wear similar to the race.

because it's gt7, group 2 is a complete mess, but gr3 and 4 aren't much better
