The Currier & Ives picture is wonderful! Thank you for sharing the haul and decorating tips. You are so right it takes time to find the special pieces to complete the look you want to achieve, but so worth the effort.
I enjoy your conversations and inspirations so much ! I always look for down pillows too! Always a great buy ! Your soaps were a wonderful discovery ! The basket 🧺collection… oh my 💕💕💕 Your currier and Ives plates are actually saucers … I have the whole set ! They were my grandmothers . Oh I’m so glad you bought those stockings … when you showing them in the store I was hoping you’d buy! The Scottie dog statue is sooo cute ! I’d paint !!! Yes !! Oh my they match your collection of dogs !! Hello!!! Painted black oh yes ! Thank you for a pleasurable time! God bless you Sweet friend ! My favorite item was the Scottie dog ! Thrifting tip : walk around the store twice ! Mine puts stuff out constantly ! ❤
Love the idea of the ribbon on the stocking. I have two similar stockings with bright red stripes. Red is not a color I lean into, so this is a wonderful idea. My tip is look for neighborhood wide yard sales in well off suburbs. We live in a a wealthy suburb of Richmond, and our neighborhood and the one next to it have annual spring yard sales. I have bought some insane antique pieces for just a few dollars. The neighborhoods need to be well established, old money type homes. New homes are full of Target furniture and kids toys. I have bought everything from antique furniture to garden pieces to chandeliers and oil paintings.
I love thrifting! One of my favorite finds is my peacock chair I scored for only $24.99! You mentioned pretty much all my tips. Only one I’d probably add is to keep an open mind when looking at things as you don’t have to use things in it’s originally intended purpose.
Yes, it is true of Goodwill over the past few years. I have shopped Goodwill for decades and as the online retailers grew they stopped putting the antiques out and started selling them online themselves. I was really disappointed in the new business model. The Lord started directing me to Goodwill years ago to shop for my children’s ministry. He taught me how to hear His voice that way. My friends always ask me how I find stuff at Goodwill. Besides the times I am directed there, it really is a way of life. You must frequent the store so that you can whiz through until you spot that thing that calls to you. Definitely skip the clothes unless there is a need.
I definitely head to home goods section when I Thrift where I look at decor and furniture. I try to only get the color on sale for the week. Now that I’m losing weight I may look at clothes again. I have that same tray from Tuesday Morning for my coffee station. I don’t care for Starbucks but I started thrifting Starbucks mugs because of you and gifting and collecting them. I found little paper wrapped evergreens last year after Christmas. I’ve trained my eye over 25 years of thrifting to spot gems. I love things that are classic, vintage, seasonal and French/romantic, between Goodwill and Goodwill bins, yard sales clearance and other charity shops I’ve thrifted most of my house. I loved the dogs. You’re so blessed to have pics of your mom when she was little! I have none of her or myself
Those stockings came out adorable! And OH that courier and Ives picture, WOW. And yes, I am quite aware that Goodwill pulls their antiques and puts them online for sale. Loved your haul, every piece was wonderful.
I loved this video! Your Currier and Ives picture is wonderful, also love the stockings especially with the ribbon you want to put on them. Thank you for sharing!
I love the stockings and the ship print. I love nautical and winter scenes paintings. It's kind of hard to find those kinds of paintings..🌲🌲cute dog, too
Sweet Sarah, Thank you for all the inspiration this year! I love thinking outside of the box, while creating vignettes. One of my thrifting tips is filling your cart with the items that you are officially attracted to, but I often purge the first things I find and put them back on the shelf, to upgrade the treasure someone stashed in the shoes. Look everywhere, the best things I have found is hidden in a secret spot, 🤣😂, I realize it sounds funny, but happens often! Looking forward to new adventures, wishing You and your Family a Blessed 2025 ❤️🎉❤️.
Thank you! I just found your channel. You are so just real about things. I’ve just started thrifting and was getting discouraged because I couldn’t find anything my last few trips. Your video shows that it takes time and patience. Again, thank you for being real.
Nothing better than a chunky basket!!!! I have done videos on how much I love them!!! You chose some winners!! The framed print is gorgeous❤ I would like to go on your retreat...I am going to go investigate right now!
I loved the stocking over haul, and the pillow was a great find !!!! I love to look at the lamps and see what I can make over into candle sticks !!!!!! I gravitate to brass and have done some wonderful DIY !!!!!
Great finds, I love finding art at the thrift store, and the currier and Ives is a good one,I actually like everything you got, love fancy soaps too and the doggie ,so cute😊😊😊
I loved all your finds! That was such a great idea of putting ribbon on the stockings! I would have passed them up, as I don't like the color red either! I have a lidded basket that I use as decor/storage as well. It stores items that I need to take along when we go to our cottage. I love sturdy good quality baskets as well. I think you covered all the tips for thrifting!
I love those little ship plates you found. They would go great with my summer transferware. Thrift tip: DI brings out most of their new stuff the first thing Monday morning, so maybe try to show up then.
I have a couple of those picnic baskets. I love those things in your other baskets. If you were purchasing them at hobby lobby they would be like 60 or $70. It's ridiculous for the process that they are now at Hobby Lobby. So you got some really great deals, and I love all your finds.
The Scottie dogs are so cool! I gave my 17 year old daughter a concrete cat in memory of our 17 year old family pet who passed away last month and then I found an inexpensive kitten figurine at Goodwill as well because we also lost a kitten this year. I suggested she paint them to give them the correct coloring. We'll put them out on the patio where our pets often napped amongst the potted plants.
Happy New Year! I enjoyed thrifting vicariously with you! I loved your haul & listening to your thrifting tips. I thought your tips were spot on. Often times, I walk out of the thrift store with nothing, but that's OK. It happens. Then there are times I'm amazed that I found so much! I find you that you must adopt the attitude of patience & persistence while thrifting because you just never know if your next visit to the thrift store will be super exciting because you found the item you've been hoping to find for years!
I loved all the baskets, I think those were wise choices. They have so many uses; towels, yarns, children's small toys, etc. I would use a smaller one for my junk journals. I have seen a lot of ladies this year using them as gift holders. Such as wine basket, cheese basket, baskets with lotions. A great haul... ♥️
My favorite is the Currier and Ives print! What a great deal with the matting and frame. I love anything vintage nautical. I also have the same plates, along with cups and saucers. I really love the stockings too! I liked the original stripe but loved the touch you added with the velvet ribbon! Oh, and the brand new bars of soap were a nice find too!
My favorite was your Albany framed picture. It's beautiful. I always look at the artwork when I thrift. Over the years I have found great framed wall decor, most of which still hangs in my home. But like everything while thrifting, you have to wade through lots of bad stuff! 40 years ago when I lived in Colorado one of the local Goodwills had a vintage/antique section of their store. I got a full set of china there, which I still have, for maybe $40, which for me was a lot then.
I do exactly what you do-skip the clothes until the end if I have time (unless I'm looking for something specific). I usually go to dishes first, then frames, baskets, hardgoods, jewelry and linens. Linens are my favorite thing to look for at Goodwill and are usually priced the best. I live in Florida (Bradenton/Sarasota), and we have tons of thrift stores! So many that you would never be able to go to them all in one day. It's overwhelming, so I created a document that lists every thrift store, the address, hours, and also if they only accept cash (we have several that do). I keep this in the Notes app on my phone. I also group the thrift stores by area - for instance - we have three charity shops on the same street. I have them grouped as a "route" for driving purposes to be totally efficient. I try to support the church/charity stores first - they usually have the best sales and prices. I will go to Goodwill in the evenings because they are the only stores open at night. I look for 100% linen whenever possible because I use it for sewing and crafting (tablecloths, sheets, etc). I also look for linen skirts and pants. I find linen tablecloths and napkins all the time! My best linen score ever was a vintage Ralph Lauren 100% linen king-size cream color duvet cover. It is gorgeous! And those are not cheap. I paid $30 for it at Goodwill (the most I've ever paid for fabric). Well worth it! My biggest tip is to PURGE whenever possible! Happy New Year, Sarah - as always, thanks for the beautiful content and inspiration you give! -Michele
Merry Christmas and thank you for the inspiration. It has been a busy time here at my house and it was nice to set down and watch your video. I’m looking forward to getting out to thrift. My tip for thrifting is check out any missions thrifts stores… their prices are much better than Salvation Army stores. My favourite thing you thrifted was that wire basket. When I seen it in the thrift store I thought boy I would like to have that. I really liked everything you thrifted as well. God bless!😊
Love the video! I think I would try and style the plates with the picture! ❤ My only suggestion would be if you think you like something put it in your cart till you decide lol or it’ll be gone! ☺️
Wow you really lucked out with your purchases! I loved them all and how you transformed them. I never ever find great bookends or dogs like you find and have been looking for years. Your always finding them that’s so great , keeps me hopeful . If I really love something whether i can think of where or how to display it or not I grab it. Iam going to say 99 percent of the time it actually fits right in . So don’t doubt yourself if you come across something that really tugs at your heart . You know if you don’t get it you’ll be thinking about it constantly and wishing you did and maybe running back to get it. Just get it and save yourself the trip. If you’ve developed your style Aesthetic than most likely it will be right at home in your home. Have a beautiful blessed day in the Lord🙏🕊💕🌹
My eyes always gravitate to Currier & Ives prints so that is my favorite. I scored a book of their prints for an amazing price at DI once so have so many options to frame any time.
This is a happy happening. I picked up a similar basket from Putnam, Vermont just a few weeks ago here on Vancouver Island in B.C. I filled it with white pointsettas and frosted greenery and frosted berries. Enjoy the new year and God bless you
Nice haul for a day of thrifting! And those baskets aren't too pricey compared to what they likely retailed for, especially since they are so versatile. Love the pattern on the pillow - such a good find. The DIY updates were perfect - I immediately also thought of painting the dog to match your other ones. And I love how the picture frame turned out. Many thrift shops are now doing online shops for high value items. Part of me gets it because they are there to make money for charities/causes but the other part of me is like that's why many shop there is to find those hidden gems, either for themselves or their business.
Sarah, you are talking my thinking. I am French and I am in that decor. I love this type of videos. Love putting linen behind pictures in a frame. Have a Blessed New 2025 sweet Sarah. 👏🏻🙏🏻❤️Marilyn from Michigan
Yes, Sarah, Goodwill does pull out the more quality /valuable items to sell online and other ways. What really bothers me the most about that is their prices have increased in the stores and REMEMBER…. ALL of their items are donated by US the consumers.. the people who go back and purchase more donated items from their stores. I’m not certain about where you live but we are always asked if we want to “round up” when we pay for “Education or even The Veterans”. Personally , each one of us need to realize ( Someone) is profiting from all of our donations and we need to educate ourselves before we decide our purchasing choices. 😊
Very good haul love the dog and the baskets are so pretty , for the little crochet they would be nice gifts for your retreat .thanks for your video and i wish you a happy new year ❤😊
I have a collection of similar picnic baskets, many of them Basketville, on a shelf in my laundry room. I store fabric and other sewing notions in them for future projects. $7 is a steal! I believe Basketville is no longer in business so that makes it even more special. Wonderful treasure!
When GW first came out with their auction site, I bid furiously on many items and was extremely outbid. Some of the final prices were so high that I thought they couldn't actually be real. The shipping and "handling" charges are outrageous. I don't bother with them anymore. On another note, wishing you happy New Year! See you next year!
My mother made some of the little crochet squares you showed. She had 2 larger ones and a few of the small ones like you got. She used them for use on furniture sort of like a dresser scarf. She a picnic basket just like you got. Hers was bought in the late ‘50’s or ‘60’s using yellow stamps. My sister and I would sit on Saturday mornings and paste the stamps into books. Going to the yellow stamp store was a huge deal. I still have the picnic basket and I use it when taking food to church.
I keep a thrift list of things I’m looking for on my phone. If really helps me to not bring home stuff I don’t need. But I do let myself be surprised by the one thing I didn’t think I needed but took home 😂 my best thrift find in Dec was a vintage butter crock that I actually prayed for! My daughter Bailey was with me and she said my face was priceless lol 😮
I love that wire basket, I don’t think you overpaid at all. Your comment about there being a lot of junk made me laugh. So true, but as the saying goes, one man’s junk is another man’s treasure! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 🔔🎄🎶✝️
What you’re talking about, is “ Wise stewardship” of your Time, finances, your life and your home. Taking the time that you need to find exactly the items that help you to meet those criteria. Sarah, one of these years, I’d love to attend your retreat and your behind the scene classes. You truly are so sweet to share your God given talents with all of us! Thank you my sweet you tube friend ❤
Thank you….love them all!! I am not one to ask about pricing but I found a whole set of individually marked dishes that I wanted the whole set of and ask if I was taking them all would she price them as such and I was given the whole set for $10!!!! So I guess my thrifting idea is don’t be afraid to ask…they can only say no 🤷♀️
So excited to see you thrifting again. Loved the episode. My favorite is the picnic basket. You'll find so many fun uses for it! Happy New Year.. He's doing a new thing!
I like to look for things I want to incorporate into my home for rooms I know I am going to redecorate. I have lived in my home for over 35 years and am really settled in to changing up the basement. This area has really NEVER been touched except for painting the walls since we have been here. It is so rewarding when you can finally use the things you have curated over the years, and it all falls into place. I can't wait to get started on it this year.
I love the Scottie dog, I would use it as a door stopper also if it had weight to it. My tip to alway be patient with what you are looking for you will find it someday.
My BEST find this season, at the Thrift Store... was a bag of crosstitch ornaments, "The Twelve Days of Christmas"...I crosstitch myself, so I know the HOURS it takes to make one...these were stitched on 18 Ct. Aida, beautifully created, stitched impeccably, the whole bag for $15.... Each Ornament represents one of the 12 Days of Christmas with the number stitched on it as well as the Turtle Dove, Geese a Laying, Partridge in the Pear Tree... It would have taken me, hours upon hours, to stitch these myself...
Yes, Sarah. Goodwill has been taking the vintage and older pieces and putting them online rather than selling them in their stores. Stinky if you ask me. I tend to shop at other thrift stores that don't hide their good stuff. Also, the prices at thrift stores since 2020 have really risen, at least here in the Denver metro area. Sometimes things are priced higher than they were in the retail stores. That happened to me last week when I picked up a brand new pack of gift card boxes...prices at 3.99 but the Marshalls price on the back was 2.99 luckily Christmas was 75% off so I got a deal. I like picking up artwork in beautiful frames, especially frames that have great mats or non-glare glass. Yes, shopping often helps you find the good things and I often walk out without buying anything!!
Good find on the Basketville picnic basket.. Basketville is now closed down but I saw a few of their picnic baskets similar to yours on Etsy for between $65 and $85. Happy New Year and blessings to you and yours.

Thank you so much! I am so glad you liked the haul! 😊❤️
Another great video, I really love watching them. I live in the UK and love looking around the charity shops .
I would never have thought to put ribbon over the red. I love it. Nice inspiration 👏 ❤
Thank you! I love adding a little extra to things to make them unique.
Yes goodwill does that. That’s why it’s hard to find old books, frames, and silver pieces there. Sometimes things slip through though.
I loved this video! Your Currier and Ives picture is wonderful, also love the stockings especially with the ribbon you want to put on them. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much! I love those stockings, too! ❤️

Lovely finds… plaid decoupage on the base of the Scotties would be adorable 😌

I love the crocheted squares! I feel like I saw someone use them to make a christmas garland, hanging on the bias. It was really quaint ❤
WOW!!!! Great haul. The frame 🖼️ is gorgeous and the stockings too. Love 💕 love ❤️ love 💗
WOw, what a haul. I love all the treasures you found. I think I like the little dog best and yes he goes with the other two. Blessings.
I would maybe leave the dog white as a contrast and it could be a westie! :)
Nothing better than a chunky basket!!!! I have done videos on how much I love them!!!
You chose some winners!!
The framed print is gorgeous❤

The frame with the linen and old pictures looks so charming. I am obsessed with all the dogs & think they will def be great bookends!

Hi Sara,
My favorite finds are your picture frame for your mom’s special photo and the dog to paint black and style as you wish! Thank you.
Those crocheted squares would make cool cup holders too...nice haul.❤
That was such a great video. Thank you so much. I too was inspired by Kristen 'so house and thrifting. Also the permission not to buy!!¡
Those are great finds! Our GW is priced too high, ships the "good" stuff to an outlet, so we are left with alot of junk!
Same here... that's why i dont do trips there often..
It can be so frustrating when you can’t find great deals at your thrift stores! I hope you find some hidden gems soon!
My eyes always gravitate to Currier & Ives prints so that is my favorite. I scored a book of their prints for an amazing price at DI once so have so many options to frame any time.

Great haul! So fun, and thanks for all the tips! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and prayers for a Happy New Year!
Sarah, you are talking my thinking. I am French and I am in that decor. I love this type of videos. Love putting linen behind pictures in a frame. Have a Blessed New 2025 sweet Sarah. 👏🏻🙏🏻❤️Marilyn from Michigan
Aw, thank you so much, Marilyn! I love your style! Happy New Year. ❤️
The vintage Currier and Ives pic is beautiful ! Nice stuff 😊
Great finds! The baskets and soap are my favorite! Also, thank you for showing them all one more time in a group at the end. 😊
You can use an electric knife to cut seating foam. Or a hot knife, however do this outside with a mask and move quickly.
I love this type of video ,baskets are my favorite and I like your time limit idea!!!
Love the velvet burgundy ribbon.
Love your thrift finds.
Have a wonderful New Year
Thank you! Have a wonderful new year too!
Very good haul love the dog and the baskets are so pretty , for the little crochet they would be nice gifts for your retreat .thanks for your video and i wish you a happy new year ❤😊
Love your videos Sarah! Your home is lovely. Sending you best wishes for a wonderful 2025 from sunny Australia!
Great finds!!! I think I love the artwork most just because it’s so unique. I have a love for Scottie dog decor items too!
It was such a fun find! I've been searching for a unique piece of art, like this one, for a while now!
Oh wow! What a fun story, I love that so much!! Thank you for sharing, Cheryl.
All such wonderful finds!
Oh that is so sweet, Debbie! We would love to have you join one of the Bespoke retreats one of these days or see you in class for BTS. ❤️
What fun! Needed to relax after a busy week and this trip was perfect 😊❤!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 😊❤️
Beautiful finds! Loved them all. Loved the thrifting videos.
Thank you Kristen! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Great haul! Love the baskets!
Thank you….love them all!!
I am not one to ask about pricing but I found a whole set of individually marked dishes that I wanted the whole set of and ask if I was taking them all would she price them as such and I was given the whole set for $10!!!! So I guess my thrifting idea is don’t be afraid to ask…they can only say no 🤷♀️
Great tip!!
The projects turned out so good! Love the Scottie dog and the stockings.
Thank you so much, Linda!
So excited to see you thrifting again. Loved the episode. My favorite is the picnic basket. You'll find so many fun uses for it! Happy New Year.. He's doing a new thing!
Thank you, Laurel! I'm so excited about that picnic basket too! 😊
The white terrier is a West Highland White Terrier. Aka: Westie. I have owned 2 & they are wonderful, loving dogs! Happy New Year 🎆
Everything you found was good. I love the scottie dog. Painting it black was a great idea.
Thank you so much! I thought the Scottie Dog was such a fun find.
Happy New Year Thank you again for all the inspiration.
Happy New Year to you, too!
I love nautical themed items. I live in Albany (NY) so I would have picked up the artwork. The frame is beautiful.
Thanks !! Love the Scottie dogs.
I love your haul, Sarah. Thank you for all your tips and inspiration. 🩷
I found a Scottie dog just like the white one , I believe from the 40's given as carnival prizes :)
I really enjoyed watching your thrifting video. You found some lovely treasures. The picnic basket if a great find. Happy New Year! 🙏
Happy New Year to you, too!
The scottie dog is soooo cute and will live happily with its friends. I really like how the frame with your photos turned out.
I loved the burgundy on the stockings. Hope you had a blessed Christmas.
Thank you! I love those stockings too. 😊
I love the Scottie dog, I would use it as a door stopper also if it had weight to it. My tip to alway be patient with what you are looking for you will find it someday.
Yes, patience is key when thrifting!
That's such a great find! I bet those ornaments look beautiful on your tree!
Goodwill needs to do whatever supports their mission. Frustrating but makes sense to me. Great video to keep us thinking forward.
You have a great eye and inspire making things your own with a little diy. Loved everything ❤

Awesome finds, have a Great New Year 😊 from Memphis Tennessee ❄️❄️❄️
Happy New Year to you too! 😊❄️
Ooh, that's fun to know! Thank you for sharing!
Wow! Great finds! All true advice! Exactly what I do!
