plainly neither of the commenters have been smeared across the bonnet of a car , pulling out in front of you. I had severe whiplash for 2 weeks as I went head first into the windscreen,was flipped up in the air and came down landing on my knees and elbow. Am still suffering 10 years later.

Biggest hypocrites on the roads. They are totally devoid of any self-liability and think the rules of the road and nature do not apply to them.
Nah, the police saw it as significant enough to require a driving course. No loss of licence. I'd see it as the proportionate response If however you are negligent enough, you will indeed lose your licence, and quite right too.
