I have a 2018 Suzuki GSX-S 125 and my max speed is 136km/h. It don’t want to go faster and I don’t know why, because the engines on GSX-S and GSX-R should be thesame. I have on this motorcycle only 1000km, so I hope it will be better soon, but I really love this motorcycle👌🏻 Amazing price and amazing acceleration with nice speed👌🏻 I think, that it is a best 125
I know why: You don't have a fairing. Your top speed is good for a naked 125cc. I couldn't go faster than 136km/h on a Yamaha MT-125. Suzuki has made a great engine! Really one of the best in the field.
Different engines. The 125cc is a DOHC engine built for performance. The 250cc is a SOHC engine built to take it easy. :P Yet the 250cc needs more maintenance. Valves check every 5k km, for the 125cc that is every 8k km. So.... yes, the 125cc engine is better, but the 250cc has got more torque because of the bigger displacement. If you would be able to mount a 250cc cylinder on the 125cc engine and also strengthen some parts that might have problems with more power, you'd have a fine and powerful 250cc engine. The 250cc SOHC engine was badly chosen by Suzuki to put in the GSX-250R. That is also why the R is behind the numbers and not in front of it. Suzuki should have never put the GSX-250R in the market as is, compared to the competition who had put more powerful 250cc bikes on the market about 10 years ago. Luckily the 125cc makes a bit up for it, but I am expecting a better engine in the near future for a 250-350cc bike. I am gonna set my sight on EICMA 2018 in November.
110-115km/h is a nice cruising speed. It is not my bike, I did a test review about it. You can read it at www.startersmotor.nl/merken/suzuki/gsx-r125/gsxr125.php It is in Dutch, but on top is a translator to make it kind of readable. ;)
I have the same bike, 3 nights ago i got it up to 145km/h, but that was after riding in 6th gear in 85km/h for over 20km then just drag the trottel to max, if i had gone from gear one when i tested the top speed i belive i would have gotten it faster (ps did not give full power when reaching that speed). Hard breakin is the best way too break in the engine.

If I am driving in first, and I come to a complete stop, I don't need to pull in the clutch, right? Then I can take off in first without even touching the clutch, right?
No, the seating position is quite sporty/active, so your upper body's weight will be put on your wrists. This will result in a tingling sensation in your hands. Unless you ride those 4 hours full speed all the time, so the wind force can lift your body and the weight from your wrists. I'd pick the GSX-S125 for long rides.

No Gixxer 150 over here, but this is the 125cc. I think the 150cc should be able to reach 150km/h or so, from what I have heard from other people living in India.
Suzuki bad quality? Not that I know of. And 3 years or warranty. At least over here. That is 1 year more than Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha etc. if you don't trust your product, you would never give an extra year of warranty.
I don't know, never had the pleasure to ride that model year, only the 2004 one. :) The 2004 was able to reach 140km/h, but it took a LONG time. The CBR125R of the years you named should be able to reach 140km/h as well. There are probably lots of top speed videos for that bike over here on UA-cam.
@@MotoSnax Yup, there are, but I wanted to ask someone who rode both of these bikes. Thank you for your answer! Good luck on the road, and don't stop making these videos!
I drive a Civic Si (Had a S2000 before) and the traffic typically runs in excess of 80 mph in the left lane at 7::AM and is heavy with trucks. Road surface in middle and right lane uneven and rough. Left lane is OK. Used to ride in the 60s and 70s and thinking about getting back into it again.
Those uneven lanes are not funny on a motorcycle. In The Netherlands the asphalt quality is a lot better than what I've seen in the USA. The worst quality was around Memphis. But I only visited about half of the states in your country. But this 125cc is a no go on the highway for commuting. It just lacks power when something happens and you need to accelerate. Next to that, truck are allowed to drive faster than in my country. Over here it is about 50-55mph max for trucks and no trucks on the left lane, unless allowed on specific parts..also no overtaking on the right side of a vehicle. I do miss 'keep your lane' over here. For riding on interstates I would recommend 300cc and above.
Lo excesivo es el precio 4550€ + matriculación. Siempre si hay flexibilidad de financiación pues yo daria 2000€ de entrada y luego a 36 meses te sale una letra de 90/95€/mes

The car in front ( citroen ) is helping a litle by reducing the wind force. But is good nice video
Thanks. Sure it helps, but without that car I would have been able to reach the same speed. It would only take a little longer.
Why is this not available on other country..?
Ask the local importer.
is the 125 4t most faster or is there any higher?
by the 125's 4stroke, the gsxr is the fastest.
140-145km/h is about it with 4 stroke 125cc's. Another fast 125 is the Yamaha YZF-R125.
Amersfoort81 the yamha yzf stops you at 138km/h tho, you can take away the electronic limiter tho so it goes faster.
best 125 CCM and Yamaha YZF-R 125
honestly i dont know which of the 2 i should buy 😅😅
My doubt is in india gixxer150 max speed is 131km/hr ,next showing that gixxer 250 max is 141 wtf is it true say some one
No Gixxer 150 over here, but this is the 125cc. I think the 150cc should be able to reach 150km/h or so, from what I have heard from other people living in India.
So with the inaccuracy of the speedometer that is on all of these bikes he hit 75mph
About 81mph actually. The speedometer is about 8% off in most cases.
@@MotoSnax Downhill yes, these 125cc sports bikes can't do more than 75mph on a flat, Suzuki even said this bike has a true top speed of 72mph.
I have heard so many people say that Suzuki's are not good not realiable broke down any time but seriously I don't think that. I want to own one
Suzuki bad quality? Not that I know of. And 3 years or warranty. At least over here. That is 1 year more than Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha etc. if you don't trust your product, you would never give an extra year of warranty.
I have the 2015 model of this bike, just the 150cc engine, and in 3 years, I have had no problems with the bike at all.
Suzuki never have bad quality, i own 2010 suzuki, still goes strong. But design is quite ugly
How Old do you haft to be for this
Depends on where you live. Where I live 18 years old, a lot of other countries 16 years old.
Amersfoort81 sweden do you know there?
According to Wikipedia it should be 16 years.
Amersfoort81 thx man

Just for comparison,gsxr150 can reach arround 150km/h when the engine are full stock
Then this is not too bad.
GPS?
Only 140kmh? My suzuki does 167 with exhaust and basically everything changed but that dont matter
Well if you have changed everything I understand it goes faster. :)
Some idiots trying to sell one of these claiming they do 90mph on fb lmao
87.5 mph roughly.
@@MotoSnax down a hill, maybe
Did you see the video? 140 km/h. Divide by 1.609. If you wait long enough, you will get there. But you must have tail wind and a lot of patience.
@@MotoSnax where is your GPS reading?
@@KentRoads Not in this video. Take off 8% like with a lot of motorcycles. Still a pretty good speed for a 15 hp 125cc 4 stroke bike.
Kalo di indonesia, suzuki gsx r memiliki cc 150
140 with a 125, your speedometer is from Marseille + the highway is downhill + you are sucked by cars in front of you + tail wind.
The decline was max 2% or so, we dont have hills and mountains where I live. What about Marseille?
Kawasaki ninja 123
OR
GSXr125 ??
I'd go for the GSX-R125 because of the higher top speed.
Nice petrol strimmer bro...
thats not to bad my 4t derbi gpr 125 did 88mph 👍
The Real Overbore
Was it descent?
2-3% max. My country is as flat as a pancake.
@@MotoSnax Thank you! Can you tell how fast is it compare to 2012-2017 Honda cbr125r?
I don't know, never had the pleasure to ride that model year, only the 2004 one. :) The 2004 was able to reach 140km/h, but it took a LONG time. The CBR125R of the years you named should be able to reach 140km/h as well. There are probably lots of top speed videos for that bike over here on UA-cam.
@@MotoSnax Yup, there are, but I wanted to ask someone who rode both of these bikes. Thank you for your answer! Good luck on the road, and don't stop making these videos!
ノーマルで140km/hなの?
Is this really 125cc??
Yes, 125cc. This is in Europe. We don't have the 150cc over here, but I know there is also a 150cc model.
85MPH IS DOPEEEE
what about gps?
Was not using that at that moment. Probably 8% off or so.

Mmmm! That lawnmower though!
I can’t judge I want an Rc390
This is kmh right?
Correct.
It's 125cc ?? Omg!!
did you do any mods to the bike?
No it is stock.
I didn’t know that had b doubles in England 😮
That is because this is in The Netherlands. :)
MotoSnax ah ok 👍 I just assumed England because of the number plate style.
Great video btw 🤙
I think that was a 150cc here in philippines
verygood♥
How the hell did he do that for just 124.4cc bike
Luck, wind in the back, 1-2% decline?
Why is this not in india....here is a gixxer sf 150cc and max speed just 133kmph.....and looks also less better that gsxr 125 or gsxr 150
Maybe it will arrive in India some day...
Yeah but i already bought gixxer....else i would have brought this
thats about what my first gear does...xD
Yes im watching a 125cc bike video while owning a 1000cc cbr...
Bet it is less comfortable in 1st gear than this 125cc in 6th gear. :)
Kinda shit to compare it that way but okay it’s fair because it’s true
That's about 85 maxed out. You would be run over on I75 in the morning work rush.
Then I hope the road is packed with cars so you can go through. If that is allowed in your state.
Was going faster than this on a tzr125lc over 30 years ago, unrestricted 105mph
@@MrSimplesimon007 it also had double the power of this.
@@MotoSnax do you think a tuned 4 stroke could compete with the two strokes of that era?
@@MrSimplesimon007 a tuned 125cc 4 stroke? It would take a lot of work and money to reach 25-30 hp. If even possible. Not worth the money anyway.

nice
I've had 89 out of mine
You have tuned the engine.
Why do you think that?
Bro. 115 can go up to 120. Suzuki gixxer top speed 113.if the engine tuned it can go fast. When I tired to ride suzuki 113 above in highway it cannot go.
I think something is wrong with your GSX-R125 as this one is competely stock. No tuning.
