Used mine with FileMaker Pro with a Music database written by me to aid running our disco performances as DJs. Request would come in and we could then search the database to find out which CD we needed. Only issue was finding the physical CD 😅😅 that 5300c certainly was a good purchase at around £30 inc new PSU. Well done!
The 5300c has an 'active matrix' colour display, where the 5300cs has passive matrix. The c is much better, so you did get a good one! The plastics on these was awful though, so they suffer a lot from hinge failures. Yours looks like that may be starting - from the back with the screen closed, the upper and lower casings for the screen are slightly parted on one side - the first signs of the hinge support parting from its mountings. Just be very careful opening and closing it. Also, the power socket inside is known to part from the logic board if it's stressed, so be careful not to apply any lateral pressure on it via the barrel jack. These were widely reviled as one of Apple's worst-ever models, and they are a bit compromised in performance as well as the reliability issues, but I have 3 of them and use them all the time for distraction free work because they're reasonably light, have a great keyboard, and pretty good screen. Oh, and yeah, the top-right key is the power button.
Thanks for that. Interesting about the screen. I must get it out again and play with it. I remember the hinge issues back in the day, so I was surprised this was in such good condition for it's age.

nice..I cant tell from the video, but are you actually sure you plugged in the power cord into the original charger?
I did at some point during my testing, but there was no power. That might not have been shown in the vid. It's some time ago now. Thanks for your comment though.
