Very fun game. It's pretty clear the lore in the game was given a lot of thought. So many times where I took a screenshot to make a new desktop background. The stakes are real in this game. The rites don't feel repetitive because you are constantly trying to upgrade your characters and get cool abilities! Definitely worth your time.
4:54 Nice edit, Jones!
Bastion 9.0/10
Transistor 9.1/10
Pyre 9.2/10
What exactly is the difference between 9.0, 9.1 and 9.2 lmao
Weird I like Bastion the most, transistor was too short for me, have not tried Pyre yet, it seems to be not my type of game but I do like what I saw in the review about alternate paths and the game continues to move even when you loose.
what an arbitrary thing to do, lol
Jesse Abraham transistor is not too short because in the new game plus is very fun
This studio be doing thangs! Give them a AAA budget and retire,. best investment of 2017.
If this ever becomes available on Switch, I'll get it in a heartbeat. This feels like a game is love as a handheld.
EZA and ACG. Only the best reviews on youtube
ACG??
Ulises Martínez M. Angry Centaur Gaming
Absolutely. Those two + assorted user reviews in forums + footage and articles on a game are what I use to decide whether I get a game or not.
Nick Schaeffler Agreed
No mention of the amazing soundtrack?
surprising, I agree. the music sounds lovely
People should already know that, it's Supergiant games they always make good music
I loved Bastion so hard, for Darren Korb's soundtrack alone. Based on that, this could be a new fave...
I might pick up the soundtrack. Unlike their previous games - the game play does not seem to be my thing.
I didn’t expect my first Easy Allies review to give me so much GameTrailers flashbacks 😭
you late
"late better than never" right?
That's because the team at GameTrailers formed EZA. New site, same guys, same great reviews.
It's good to hear his voice again.
I love these reviews so much- really I use them to gather information about the game, but the scoring system is weak. It's difficult to discern which games truly stand out since everything you review gets a 4.
guys you know what I love about those guys games??
they feel like the squaresoft games of the 2000
t-this voice ... sounds ... familiar to say the very least.
If you're talking about the 'MC' announcer, it's Logan Cunningham, voice of Rucks from Bastion and The Transistor from... well Transistor.
Francisco Gallardo If talking about the guy voicing the review, he sounds like one of the IGN or Gametrailer peeps to me.
it IS the game trailers guy, they made this channel after the site shut down
If you're talking about the commentary over the video it's Brandon Jones from GameTrailers. Easy Allies is their new thing after getting shut down.
There's always one, lol www.patreon.com/EasyAllies/
Looks like a very interesting game, Bastion and Transistor were fantastic games I hope to pick this up in the following month as the games coming out in August are not grabbing my attention.
Hey, I have a grammar question based on a line in this review. At 3:29 Brandon says "Since each of the invocations feels important", and I'm wondering if "feels" is the right form of the word "feel" here. I'm confused because he's talking about all of the invocations, while saying that each one of them feel(s?) important, so in my head I can make a case for both usages - but which one is the correct one, and why?
I could be wrong, but I believe the correct usage would be "feel" because the subject he is talking about is singular; regardless of whether or not its reference is plural. (Ex.: Saying something like "The animations looks amazing." sounds strange because the subject - a singular entity; even if it is referencing more than one thing - is already in plural. In this case, using plural as a reference to the subject would be redundant.)
P.S.: Nice catch. :)
Thanks very much for the answer - have a great day :)
correct me if I'm wrong but i think it's about subject and verb agreement- anything that comes after a preposition (which in this case is "of") becomes an object, hence the subject in this sentence is each, so "feels" seems appropriate.
Yay, studying for the SAT wasn't a total waste.
I am sad to say I am more interested in the Soundtrack than the game, amazing music^^
Excellent review as always guys!
Thanks, Huber. Good review.
Fantastically written review Huber!
Amazing soundtrack as always by super giant games
oh come on dude. come on. you cant have music this good!
From what I've read on steam etc everyone says this is a visual novel with a game attached, as in the majority of your time will be spent reading and talking to characters. Can anyone confirm?
i hope they an add online multiplayer in the future
Oh no... I was far more excited for this game before the review. This doesn't normally happen with EZA.
Great review Huber, but it oddly killed my HYPE for this game. I don't play sports games because I don't like the gameplay, not just because I don't like sports.
Visual novel with space basketball.
This is great and all but can you have Huber take a break from reviews and play Persona 5? If he needs to do reviews then just have him do a second opinion on Persona 5 (it'll probably get another 5-stars).
I think he's already 50 hours in if you watched the latest Huber Syndrome so don't worry he's halfway there I guess.
Last Huber Syndrom he said he's done major progress!
Fantastic to hear! I hope he gets on Frame Trap soon to talk about it!
Nice video!
Only 4 stars? Odd. The review sounded like a 5 to me.
blakeandcamp 'Only'. 4 stars is great. 5 would indicate a masterpiece which this probably isn't.
blakeandcamp It's illegal to give indie games a perfect score. We all know this, come on.
C'mon guys, it's "Flagging Hands", not "Flagging Hanos"
The 2017 drought continues for xbox lol
it's just like dark souls
Hipster basketball simulator 2017
Transistor was probably the worst game ive ever played.
Akaji Blubb It wasn't unless you don't play much games. I didn't like it that much either but it definetly wasn't a bad game and I'm pretty sure you've seen worse too.
dude, my first game was an atari television pong and super mario bros 1. thats why i am able to say: transistor was terrible. but hey, times are changing. there is a whole lot of new hipsters that play games, not because of gaming but are solely satisfied when the visual aspects are different or artistic. or the people that play a game because they enjoy the soundtrack of it just a big lol...gaming is so bad in general nowadays, only worse in 2006-2008 era.
