Great job Joe. I have a set of Trickflow heads installed on my 440. Trickflow listed felpro 1009 head gaskets for assembly. Do you think the felpro 1009 gaskets will be a problem in the future? I’m hearing the MLS gaskets are better with aluminum heads. Have you used the felpro gaskets? Any feedback on them?
Thanks Jim. The bigger issue is the chamfer that many blocks can with. Thai engine got the cheaper felpro blue gaskets. It has a wider fire ring that’s spaced back from the bores. I’ve sprayed 150 shot on them!
The felpro gasket is supposed to leave brinelling Impressions? Is this really critical? Something that can cause future problems? Do you did you retorque the head bolts? The reason I ask is that if it were your engine assembled with 1009 felpro gaskets would you make the effort to switch off the head gaskets to MLS Cometic gaskets?
Please let me know what you think about the 413 or should I look for a 440/400? Or I can try to get Chris Birdsong to sell the 426 wedge he didn't want to rebuild due to the cost of the pistons he was saying. People don't realize that you don't have to have the most expensive of everything to get a great running engine and you prove that every video that you do like this. 12:07
Good evening JMJ! I will wish you a Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 and a wonderful and Happy New Year! Thanks for sharing, I have a question for you! I will hope you see this and get to answer me back when you get a chance please 🙏🥺! I found a great deal on a motor home with a 413 with a 727 transmission! Yes sir I checked it out three times it is a 413. It runs really good and is in great shape for how long it has set without being taken on a big road trip for 5+ years! It is in a Winnebago medium size motor home with 65,000 miles on it. Only thing I can see that leaks is the passenger side valve cover gasket, seeping out of the front main seal and the transmission is seeping out of the rear seal and pan gasket. Otherwise I was shocked 😯 that it was not leaking more than that form more places. I figured it would be leaking from the rear main seal since the front one was leaking and the drivers side valve cover gasket is not leaking but the other one is? Same thing with the transmission, rear is seeping but front is dry? Pan gasket is leaking but I figured that is a given due to the age that it was replaced back over 10 years ago and with a cork gasket none the less. I was surprised how good it run and the way it was maintained was amazing for being a 72. What is your opinion on this combo? Should I get it for 700 dollars or should I get something else? I know that a 400 or a 440 is the cream of the crop for building big power in a Chrysler but I will say that I don't have the big money right now to get a 426 Hemi or a 440/400 block and forged crank with the good heads. I have passed on a old slightly rusty 426 wedge core, I have heard that a good forged crank with pistons and rods are more expensive than a 440/400 rotating assembly. Not sure how much truth is behind it without doing a little bit of serious research but I am going to look as soon as I finish the video. Thanks for sharing this with me and my family JMJ and I will wish you a Happy and Merry Christmas!🎄
Merry Christmas to you and yours! That's a good deal on a motor home with a 413 in it. If you can get the motor home and the 413 for $700 I would say it is a good deal. Think of the 413 as a 440 that has 383 pistons in it. Almost. But it will rev to 6,500 quickly with good torque and the right camshaft and decent heads.
Thanks again for the help and time with my quest to get a good MOPAR on the road and having a good friend and professional Chrysler guru to get help on stuff is just awesome and priceless! Again Merry Christmas and enjoy your day today! Now all that is left is to find a good car or truck to put it in when it gets a little bit of TLC and maybe a second dose one top of that. Thanks again for everything you do for your subscription holders! @@JustMoparJoe
Once I get it home right after Christmas and on the stand, I will start to disassemble it and I will get back to you with what I have and what it might need. Hopefully you can point me in a awesome direction with the cam and lifters along with the good heads I will need to get things together and rolling because of video that I just watched again is giving me the bug to get the work done and spring will be here before you know it especially the way things are going lately.
Low decks love rpm and with the right heads, springs and cam you can make power at 7,800 rpm's and a 440 block (I'm talking factory blocks here) the webbings in the block will crack and then its junk......Low decks need some loving also......Good job on the video
I not a expert on mopar , when i first saw the post a stroker motor i was thinking well hp per cubic in or close and tq . I was surprised how well this engine does . I was thinking the cylinder heads are pretty decent after seeing the posted numbers. The owner should be happy with that ..Does the engine have enough cam and springs to pull out to 6500 or so .. Congratulations on a nice build
Thank you. The small runners 210cc, really make torque in this application. I haven’t ever had a Mopar with this kind of cubic inch that makes power much over 6,000 rpm without a max wedge port head. The cam is very conservative as well. It all adds up to big torque numbers. There are better grinds for more power. He wanted a street capable stroker, so we didn’t want to have to rev it to the moon.
I am impressed on how well it does . I watched a few videos on stroker wedge motors that had stock heads and i dont ever remembered seeing any that made anything close to what this engine makes ..i just assumed it was the lack of cylinder head flow in a NA configuration. I never had a Max Wedge . I had the others back when including a 426 marine wedge. I think Indy builds the cylinder heard for the wedge mopar . . If i ever wanted to have another mopar hot rod i surly consider this build . I not sure what the limit of a stock big block wedge block is as far as rpm and torque ..
I must admit, the RPM was as cast and had to fight against the Torker that I had ported for 5-6 hours. I didn’t have time to do a gasket match of any kind on it. I could tell from my 406 dyno videos that it’s a strong contender. It is an interesting test
@@JustMoparJoe 620 plus uncorrected or in the room or observed HP has the potential to possibly make a 9 sec pass, in good air, the tricky part is the power peak @ 5600 RPM will make the drive train setup very picky (converter and gearing). Still that's very good power out of that, especially the TQ. I think it's important you point out the spread between uncorrected HP and corrected HP on your next video, real dyno numbers right there, and most aren't.........................But then again Kuntz are drag racers and don't lie to themselves about dyno numbers.
Always do 300rpm on DYNO every time you dyno. Start the pull low around 2300rpm. Looks like I won the TQ/HP guess.🏁 Did I? Joe, explain to Dave how to order the right convertor for this engine. Or just tell him to give a copy of the dyno sheet to his convertor guy.... Recommend 3.91 gears for street, 4.56 for track. 🏁

Hellz Yeah!!! That’s some MoPower!!!
Thanks Jonny! I was glad it was a good day
The felpro gasket is supposed to leave brinelling Impressions?
Very Awesome !
Thanks man! It was a blast!
Find a real nice old 77 Cordoba and put that engine in. The boys down at the drag strip would be scratching their heads.🏆👍
I wonder what the difference would be with trick flows. Damn nice numbers for that combo.
You’re in luck! I have a 512 build with tf240’s dyno bound in the new year!
@@JustMoparJoe sweet i want to do a 512 with the lightened crank with trick flows. 650 is my target.
@@cowthedestroyer I love my 512!
Awesome 😎
What octane is the fuel being used for this dyno pull?
Low decks love rpm and with the right heads, springs and cam you can make power at 7,800 rpm's and a 440 block (I'm talking factory blocks here) the webbings in the block will crack and then its junk......Low decks need some loving also......Good job on the video
Thanks for the technical advice! It's been a blast building this engine. I’ve always heard the 499 revs like a banshee in the low deck.
@ I know my 512 is built stronger than this one, with girdle, 12.7/1, studs everywhere. I’ve got 100 passes so far and sprayed 150 no problems
Nice street engine. Reasonably mild camshaft.
700 ft;lbs with the RPM! I know who to send my stroker build to!
I must admit, the RPM was as cast and had to fight against the Torker that I had ported for 5-6 hours. I didn’t have time to do a gasket match of any kind on it. I could tell from my 406 dyno videos that it’s a strong contender. It is an interesting test
What would you expect this engine to run @ 3500 pounds, 1500 DA?
I would love to see high 10’s out of this combo. He wants to spray it too! Rings have enough gap for 150
@@JustMoparJoe 620 plus uncorrected or in the room or observed HP has the potential to possibly make a 9 sec pass, in good air, the tricky part is the power peak @ 5600 RPM will make the drive train setup very picky (converter and gearing). Still that's very good power out of that, especially the TQ. I think it's important you point out the spread between uncorrected HP and corrected HP on your next video, real dyno numbers right there, and most aren't.........................But then again Kuntz are drag racers and don't lie to themselves about dyno numbers.
It's pulling some good numbers good bye tyres
Nice 👍👍👍👍
Thanks buddy!

@@autonomous_collective haha! I didn’t do a drawing this time. If you want a JMJ shirt, shoot me your size and address to justmoparjoe@gmail.com. This dyno wouldn’t hold the torque down that Low.
