    Never understood the systema kick this was a great breakdown will definitely practice the pedaling motion and initial pivot so it becomes second nature during high stress.

    As always thank you for all you share. As far as joint health do you have any recommendations on recovering finger joints from Impact injuries?

    • @Combatprofessor

      In our approach we start with rotations--all fingers in all directions, beginning with circles, then evolving to figure 8s as the basic level of stregnthening. This is a good dynamic stretch and strengthener. Then slow resistance using either the fingers themselves (finger against fingers) and evolving to weight, body weight, finger push ups, etc.

    Now thats what I was looking for, but man my hips are popping when I do the circles. I will try to throw my kicks like this though, feels and looks much more relaxed and nonchalant

      I suggest my vids on shin boxes--these are my primary hip openers and you can do selective contractions for some dynamic stretching in them or flies, raising the legs in the rear and front positions respectively to strengthen and stretch. Then when you're ready you can chain them together with low squatting like we do throughout our basic ground mobility--these are just magical for fixing hips that are too tight or too loose.

      @@Combatprofessor Do you mean shin box to farmer squat video or which one?

    • @Combatprofessor
      @Combatprofessor  4 роки тому +1

      @@bfjones1198 That one will work. Anything from Level 1 or 2 mobility for the legs will do the trick.

      @@Combatprofessor Thanks I hope so, but honestly I feel pretty flexible in the shin box and I can do leg pistols from side to side fairly well etc, so this doesn't feel very challenging

      @@bfjones1198 Clicking is rarely an indication of tightness--usually it's laxity leading to instability. You could simply strengthen but then you risk losing mobility. So I believe you should seek load bearing stretches. Achieving the shin box from a flexibility perspective should only be regarded as the first step, not the destination. Then it should be done with contraction, under increasing load, one legged, etc. as your capacity permits. That will tighten things up in the right way and get the joints back to balanced biotensegrity.

    I like the videos where you utilize natural lighting better. My eyes are extremely sensitive to the blue/white end of the spectrum, such as fluorescent lights, even in videos.

      This wasn’t natural light it was a professional set up with a huge array of studio lights. A pro company made these
