    Dear all, I really enjoy your videos and watch everyone of them. If I may make a request, I would love to see you improve the video technology for these important presentations.
    The screen used for the slides is just awful and the slides look ghastly with very poor contrast and “burn out” where the projector showing a “bright spot” right in the middle of the screen.
    Your information is of the utmost importance it deserves the best video for showing your slides.
    I really look forward to you UA-cam videos. Thank you so much.

    Alan Thompson As a retired earth science teacher, I steeled myself to watch this Kurt Wise video on my favourite topic. Much to my surprise (and kudos to Kurt) he was spot on, with an enthusiastic and accurate summary of the Theory (Capital T - no longer "just a theory", as he admitted). In fact right up til 48.18 out of 48.40! And then...... oh dear. How sad!

    • @svenf68

      It was perfect! And the last 10-15 seconds simply nailed it! This is really great stof to be used by the young earth creationists.

      Alan Thompson, you wrote, "... right up til 48.18 out of 48.40! And then...... oh dear. How sad!"
      LOL! Kurt explains in another video that it takes a lot of plate momentum to push up mountain ranges. A few cm/year won't cut it. Check this out:

      It is also worth mentioning that radiometric dating is notoriously unreliable.

      @@BibleResearchTools Sorry Dan, until Nehner's recent comment your effort had somehow passed me by.
      Wise and Co.'s speeding up of natural processes in order to shoehorn PT into their biblical timescale is dogma, NOT science.
      So much geological evidence is incompatible with this catastrophic plate tectonics (CPT)
      1. Island chains, such as the Hawaiian islands, indicate that the ocean floor moved slowly over erupting "hot spots." Radiometric dating (see below) and relative amounts of erosion both indicate that the older islands are very much older, not close to the same age as CPT would require.
      2. CPT says that all ocean floor should be essentially the same age. But both radiometric dating and amounts of sedimentation indicate that the age changes gradually, from brand new near ridges to tens of millions of years old towards passive margins.
      3. As sea-floor basalt cools, it becomes denser and sinks. The elevation of sea floors is consistent with cooling appropriate for its age, assuming gradual spreading. Mid-ocean ridges systems are younger, therefore higher.
      4.Guyots are flat-topped underwater mountains. The tops were eroded flat from a long time at the ocean surface, and they sank with the sea floor. CPT does not allow enough time for the sea mountain to form, erode, and sink.
      5. Runaway subduction does not account for continent-continent collisions, such as between India and the Eurasian plate. Nor can it explain the many suture lines that mark ancient plate collisions.
      CPT has no plausible mechanism. In particular, the greatly lowered viscosity of the mantle, the rapid magnetic reversals, and the sudden cooling of the ocean floor afterwards cannot be explained under conventional physics, only by the application of massive amounts of magical "GodDidIt", which, of course, these creation "scientists" cannot allow.
      Conventional PT accounts for the evidence already and does a much better job of it. It explains innumerable details that CPT cannot, such as why there is gold in California, silver in Nevada, salt flats in Utah, and coal in Pennsylvania (McPhee 1998). It requires no extraordinary mechanisms to do so.
      In short, CPT is a giant step backwards in the progress of science.
      You naturally mention your totally unsupported belief that radiometric dating is "notoriously unreliable". Yes, for CPT to make any sense (BTW it doesn't!) you do have to diss anything that gives earth materials ages greater than 10,000 years max, don't you? OK, what about a citation or two to back up this BS claim? Or at least an honest admittance of the non-scientific source of said BS?
      Finally, if a planet where geological processes have allegedly slowed down to present day rates can still produce events as deadly as the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, try to imagine the mess left by said processes taking place in just months (or years if you're charitable). That everything got flooded later is the least of the worries.

    • @Jelmomovies
      @Jelmomovies 3 роки тому

      @@futtermanfarms6791 Well, don't you think that the idea of plate tectonics.. (The idea of pangea) is actually very wrong? Like.. pieces of continents missing. Continents turning clockwise and counter clockwise.. shrinking the continent of Africa to make it fit?

    • @futtermanfarms6791
      @futtermanfarms6791 3 роки тому

      @@Jelmomovies Good questions. Clearly you are thinking about the realities of tectonics and trying to understand it. First, consider each whole continent, not just the part above water. A lot of the continental margins are under water. So you don't need to shrink Africa and a lot of the "missing pieces" are right there, under water, still attached to the continent. Also some material would be lost at the edges of the breakup and either subducted , or relocated by enormous tidal forces of the flood, supplying the sediments that were redeposited. Second, remember in the flood model this movement happened really fast, like within a year. I would consider almost all current earthquakes aftershocks of the flood catastrophe. Third, I assume the turning you are talking about is India. Consider that 2 lines of the great trenches converge where India once was. A single trench is enough to cause an entire continent to move. This convergence would have enormous power to move a relatively smaller mass like India. Have you ever rimed a putt on the golf course? The ball rotates around the rim of the hole, changes direction, and picks up speed. In like manor, the India mass could definitely have been caught in the vortex of the convergence, spun around and thrown to the north by vast currents of tidal forces while floating on hot, fluid, newly forming ocean basalt. Remember, although the continents seem massive (and in context they are) the continents are made up of earth's crust and the crust of the earth is less than the thickness of a sheet of paper compared to a bowling ball. If you show just half of the earth on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, the core and mantel will fill the page and the crust would be thinner that a single pixel the printer could print. So the crust is VERY thin compared to the earth. The crust does actually float on the mantel.

    Can plate tectonics be true AS WELL AS young-earth Creationism? I've watched a tonne of these vids but this one confuses me. How are all evil-utionists in agreement about this but against the Bible?

    • @rosesmith6208
      @rosesmith6208 5 років тому +2

      the problem is that many interpret the day as 24 hours long but the bible does not say that, it describes each period as a day, we do not know the actual time period for a day. no where in the bible can you see a day as a 24 hour period, for the creation periods. science says the earth has been here for millions of years, which doesnt contradict the bible, people are misrepresenting what the bible really says.

      @@rosesmith6208 I know I'm late yet...The book of Genesis tells us God made man on the sixth day. It also tells us Adam lived 930 years. Genesis 2 tells us God rested on the seventh day after finishing all his work and blessed the seventh day. If we don't take biblical days literally, and presume a day is 1000 or million days; was Adam alive on day seven?
      Of course he was. God said it was all good. That holds great implications to the nature of the creator. There was no sin or death on day seven.
