  • iilluminaughtii is a name we're all familiar with (sadly). At this point in time, everyone and their grandma have made videos about her downfall. But today I wanted to highlight just how low her channel has sunk and how desperate she's become. Her videos are genuinely abhorrent. She's now disabled comments and it's clear from her videos ideas, she has no dignity

      @@kaiservonpanzer213Yeah, the hbomb video shows how doomed her situation was. I remember him tweeting an example of her plagiarism right after her LegalEagle call-out. It seemed like such an odd bit of info to have lying around about someone at the time, but it turned out he was already orchestrating her downfall months in advance.
      Even if she hadn't attacked LegalEagle and set the chain reaction of allegations in motion, she was going to get exposed a few months later and probably have the same chain reaction happen. There was nothing she could've done. She was doomed the moment her channel took off. If I were her but still capable of self reflection, that knowledge would haunt me for the rest of my life. It would simultaneously feel like the universe itself was conspiring against me and it was my fault. (She isn't, so she's claiming it's a smear campaign of false allegations)
      The only question is if she would've benefited from not being the only plagiarist exposed, preventing her from monopolizing the UA-cam commentary scene like before, or if her worse allegations would've shielded the other plagiarists from the backlash they're getting now.

      Well, I can say it was true out of experience. What Hospice did with my Grandma was basically legalized murder, then, for the cherry on top, they wanted to pin my Grandma's demise on me, because of a mistake I did that put her in there in the first place.
      Keep in mind, I was around 14, so this was a long time ago. I made a lot of mistakes in my life and I do not wish to disclose the details of the foolish mistake I made. But it did snap me into reality. I learned a very important lesson, actions have consequences.
      Their excuse was. "We're just making them feel comfortable until they pass." So they're basically killing them with kindness, literally.
      That is the only thing I can say for sure that she's right about from personal experience, it still doesn't change the fact that she chooses to be a terrible person.

    • @Limitedonathios
      @Limitedonathios Рік тому

      @@xombiekillaAs someone with a similar experience, please read this through, bc I understand where you come from and a lot of the pain: I’m sure there are hospices out there that are terrible, and not to discredit your experience, but when someone is in hospice they have less than 6 months to live. How do we know? Because their organs are slowing down, their liver and kidney levels indicate early failure, their O2 sat is incorrect signaling respiratory failure, etc. There are other things that can cause organ failure or that can be causing death on their own like major accidents, tumors, cancer, chronic disease, etc. *Aka “killing them” at that point is extremely difficult to do,* their own bodies are directing the demise at that stage and doing so very well. There are some people who can “graduate” and leave hospice, but they tend to be from backgrounds of terminal illness or tumors that didn’t progress as quickly as expected due to new treatment options or surgeries that have become available, although I’m sure there are exceptions to each category.
      I could be wrong but from you described, hospice did not kill your relative. They did not “kill her with kindness.” Sometimes end of life is peaceful, other times it is extremely painful and is essentially torture for 6 months, especially in America where they try to treat what’s wrong. In other countries, your heart fails or an organ dies and that’s it, you die where you are or at the ER. America has stabilizing techniques to help people to still live despite major organ injury. Sometimes they “live” directly into hospice
      I might understand where you are. I was in situation where I did not intervene and I think it contributed to my grandmothers untimely death, also at 14. But you need to see a professional, whether it’s your religious leader, a therapist, or a grief counselor. From what I read from your recounting of the incident, you blamed and still blame yourself but feeling fully responsible is painful, so you blamed it on the hospice so you wouldn’t feel totally at fault. You deferred part of the blame to the hospice as “killing her with kindness,” although they just tried to reduce her pain as her organs continued to fail or her brain function declined. And did they blame you for killing her, or did they blame the incident that killed her, and in your grief, worry, and maybe shame, you felt that it was a direct attack where they blamed you? Similar things have happened to me, but working through them helped immensely. *And sometimes, it was nobody’s “fault,” bad things can just happen.* Like you said, you were 14 and may have been very sheltered, you may have not received adequate guidance of right/wrong, or you may have just been a goof like most 14yos are. Accidents happen, kids are famously unable to suspect dire consequences. That’s why many need supervision. You did not realize that actions have consequences until that age as you say in that paragraph. It was a huge lesson for you, but that tells me that it was not intentional, you are not evil, and the blame doesn’t fall on you for the terrible outcome. Whatever happened truly seems like it was an accident. An accident that you caused not knowing better. If a drunk driver ends someone’s life in an accident, that was their fault, they knew sober they shouldn’t drive after drinking, and they knew drunk/buzzed that they shouldn’t drive while drinking because you can end someone, and that is taught everywhere. They know the consequences. But a 14yo not realizing the gravity of the situation means the accident occurred and resulted in death and “fault” is not ascribed in the same way it can be to the drunk driver. If you accidentally step on a wire that kills someone 3 houses down the road was it your fault? No, it is truly and wholly an accident. Can someone blame you and say it was your fault, yes. But the blame and outcome do not lie squarely on your shoulders as if you were the planner of such a terrible demise. An accident changed you and your grandmothers lives forever. You did not intentionally conspire for you and your grandma to lose so much. Have grace for yourself

I would know, my mom had a spinal cord injury last year and my dad has fairly progressed Alzheimer's. I'm their sole caregiver. I have a bachelor's in psychology. I'm not qualified and it's been an extremely uphill struggle. But that only gives me the perspective to deeply appreciate nurses and other skilled care workers. She used to put out at least two videos a week, & now she's barely managing to put out one every two or three weeks. I just checked her channel & saw that she hasn't released any new content in over four weeks at this point. I wonder if she's finally given up. Considering that her newest videos have barely managed to scrape in 13k views (down from well over a million at her height), it wouldn't surprise me. Her channel is d-e-a-d DEAD.

I had experienced loss before, but I had never lost somebody so important to me. She gave me the guidance I needed to form a functional moral compass. She was kind, and warm, and literally everything a grandma should be. I don't think I would have gotten through the grief if we hadn't gone to counseling there. Honestly. I actually liked watching a lot of her videos. I stopped because something felt fishy to me. It sounds paranoid, but I'm used to waiting weeks or months (sometimes even years ehm Oversimplified) for a video from a good creator to come out. The wait time increases my joy to when the video gets released and gives me a notion that the creator is putting in a lot of work and research for the video to be good. This is not always the case, but it gives me somewhat of an idea.
      When I saw that, Illuminaughty uploaded very frequently. I kind of grew suspicious of the research she does on her videos, so I stopped watching. Then the whole legaleagle stuff came, and everything came crashing down.

    My grandfather was in hospice for a short time before passing away. I don’t remember a lot because I was 8, but I remember the kindness of the nurses and hospice aids. He passed on Christmas Day, leading up to it we slept in his room, they made sure we were all as comfortable as possible. The counselor talked with me, my brother and cousin. Gave us games and coloring, took us to another room during check ins (“boring grown up talk”). Even made up little gift bags from “Santa”, we had left milk and cookies in the hallway. A few months after my grandmother started volunteering with hospice and later my aunt worked for them for years before having to stop due to health issues. There are always anecdotal stories of horrible things happening in any element of life but hospice isn’t like the foster system or prison system that have more awfulness than good. Blair trying to portray that is disgusting, she doesn’t care about the truth now (if she ever did). Are there problems with long term elder care, yes. Does some reform need to happen, yes.but hospice specifically doesn’t have those problems as much as residential home for those that need help.

    Her video about hospice care pissed me off with how uninformed she is. Lost my dad to end-stage COPD and lung cancer earlier this year and having him in in-home hospice care honestly was the best thing we could have done for him as his condition worsened. He passed at home with his wife, daughter, and pets by his side. The workers were so kind and compassionate, and offered my mom and me counseling after he passed away. I get that there are bad actors--you're gonna find them everywhere unfortunately--but in my experience, hospice workers are generally kind, empathetic, and understanding of the terminally-ill and their families. The hospice offered to send a nurse to stay with us and care for him from our home, so he could have that. I was a nine year old kid at the time but I got the chance to say goodnight to him on the night that he passed because the hospice gave us that opportunity. I will always appreciate that they went out of their way to grant a dying man’s wish. Hospice is a good thing, it gives the dying comfort. Honestly looking back there were so many red flags.
    One of which being the fact that she kept accepting sponsorships from companies that were INCREDIBLY shady and even outright scams ie kamikoto knives and betterhelp. I wouldn't be surprised if she accepted a sponsorship from TEMU at some point, too. While sponsorships are a necessary evil of youtube, I'd expect people who have the entire schtick of business exposee pieces to at least research their sponsors thoroughly before accepting them. Research every sponsor she's accepted in the past year and I guaruntee some of them will have at least some controversies.

      I'm more forgiving of small UA-camrs taking sketchy sponsorships, but it struck me as weird that this huge channel that definitely wasn't desperate for money seemed okay with putting TWO sponsors in every video without any vetting process.

      However it falls into a Same Thing as Tips you give to waiters.
      The reason Tips exist, is because in older Times, wages for waiters were SO Low, they HAD to Take Tips so they don't starve.
      If UA-cam would Pay their content creators a fair amount, Sponsors wouldn't be a Thing, or Else content creators would starve.

    She went after hospice?! Those nurses have an incredibly hard job. They are incredibly compassionate. I have had several loved ones who were placed in hospice care and they made the death process easier. Of course, there are always bad apples, but that is the exception not the rule. Holy shit this makes me angry.

    Here's the thing about Blair, she's just the voice. Yes, she had to lay-off a bunch of people, but she still has someone else do everything else for her. The writing, the editing you name it, and she gives them 0 oversight.
    She even took months to realise her outro had changed, which is like... How? Wasn't she recording the outro? Which makes me believe that she may have just put her voice on a good bot... aka, she might not even be doing the voice anymore... she's literally just a figure head, spokesperson.

    As someone with a mom who is worked in hospice and a grandfather on hospice I find the idea of hospice being evil a sick drain on our society slowly killing those who just no longer want to suffer. Dying cannot be cured and sometimes cannot be stopped and acting like it can is sick and depressing

    I recently watched another update video from someone who was able to get an interview with one of the folks working for Blair and they said she's trying to work on a new channel and full rebrand, likely under a new name, I assume a new avatar and channel separate from the current type of channel she's got now to rebuild. The odds are pretty good that she actually IS trying to kill her channel as it is right now. If I had to guess, she probably wants people to think the channel is so dead that they've beaten her off the platform but really she's using it as a distraction while starting something new. (And we know she's done that before, basically. She's had a hand in a lot of different content stuff in the past from memes to politics). Don't be surprised if she pops up with a new name and channel at some point! (I am wildly curious if she's gonna try to alter her voice in an attempt to not be found or something)

    Hey just a small correction (coming from a hospital worker): hospice follows comfort measures and doesnt focus on treatmemt although hospice staff will treat symptoms secondary to the terminal illness. Life sustaining measures like force feeds and intubation are prohibited.

    • @chaosbeam4654
      @chaosbeam4654 9 місяців тому +2

      Yeah, there was hospice care for my grandpa. From what i remember, their explanation boiled down to “he’s not going to get better, but we can make sure he’s as comfortable as possible.”

    • @uknlogic2924
      @uknlogic2924 9 місяців тому

      @chaosbeam4654 right-hospice is intended for terminal illnesses that are incurable regardless of the amount treatment the patient is to recieve. Also to qualify for hospice (at least in the state I work in), you're life expectancy needs to fall below 6 months. People can also "graduate" from hospice care if their condition improves/if they live past 6 months of hospice care. Hospice is intended to be the most humane-non painful and respectful way to die outside human euthanasia (which is offered in select countries outside the united states)

    The part where Blair was talking about dementia patients rings to me like she does not know what it’s like to have a family member with dementia. As you point out, I can *kind of* see her point, because it’s something that I have had to grapple with in regards to my grandfather. He has declined considerably since his diagnosis 3 years ago and he cannot make decisions for himself. I don’t think he even knows I’m his granddaughter anymore, which is something else that I’ve had to come to terms with.
    I don’t know, it just feels… off. Like she’s reading from Wikipedia and not learning from any personal experience, anecdotes or other non wiki sources. Someone who has a family member with severe cognitive decline due to dementia would probably say more what you said - about having assessments before having their healthcare decision making taken away, because I can say my grandfather can barely remember what he had for dinner, let alone have the capability to decide what medication may help his condition!

When she used to hit 200k easily and even had the occasional 1 million views videos.

    what's worse is that HBomberguy exposed how her content is just chopped up and regurgitated articles. She is shameless about the usage of documentaries and how she just constantly quotes articles without citing sources and not coming to any critical thought. There is a difference between speaking a chopped-up articles and analyzing a source and coming to a conclusion of your own. Her fyre fest video is just the Hulu documentary regurgitated without doing her own research. Her videos are the death of any conclusive research and critical thought. I would also imagine her thumbnails are AI generated art which makes her content slop even worse.

    I just want to say in regards to hospice, I’m a funeral director so I have a lot of clients that go through hospice and have seen both good and bad places. The MAJORITY of hospice staff really care about their patients. It’s such a serious subject for many people that I think trying to scare people about it is absolutely insane.

    Illuminaughti once sicked her fans at an artist for drawing her UA-cam avatar in a one piece swimsuit and hoodie under the assumption of the artwork being somehow “lewd” or some other bullshit. Now that her platform is turning into a sinking ship with even her diehard fans turning against her, I’m gonna draw her avatar not only in the aforementioned swimsuit and hoodie but also wearing a thick diaper just to spite her.

    Hospice Volunteer myself here. I find it repulsive that someone would try to slander an organization that honestly does a lot of good. My grandfather, who had cancer, was a hospice patient and the level of care that he was given was beyond great. The nurses and volunteers who work to give those who are terminally ill and their families dignity deserve a lot of respect. That’s why I give back and why it sucks that people like iilluminaughtii feel the need to promote lies about it.
