It appears that the area along the tracks in the vicinity of the Dhaka Railway station also serves as the Dhaka city dump. This is the 2nd channel I've looked at which featured Bangladeshi Railways. It appears that this railway system shares the same pollution problems as Indian Railways. The big difference is the Indian PM has recognized the problem and has initiated programs to clean up India, including Indian Railways. Hopefully something similar will take place in Bangladesh. A good start would be to totally ban the use of plastic bags.

Gary Plastek Not freight loco. It is imported from India, an indian version of mixed diesel loco that can haul both passenger and freight trains. In India, other than this mixed type, you will get both dedicated passenger and freight locos separately.

We are on the process to introduce modern locomotives as well as facilities. Present infrastructure is not suitable for introduce electrifications and high speed engines. But severale projects are on for modernization of railway tracks and eletrification.
