This omori ost has just the right title: "do you remember?" A question that becomes much more of a question, and by the note it plays takes form of an invitation to remeber the "memories of the past, both good and the bad". Those memories that haunt you down to the core of your body, of your soul; giving a caress, that's you can't feel, but just remember. And those caressing memories are the most burning which lead to burn your whole body. But still you can't deny the desire of begin burn by the said memories. Every note of this song is just like burning in the middle of you, and you're the only one that knows the way it burns, because... nobady can see trough your memories. Just like a cinema movie that is one-seat reserved out of one
wow, something i never thought abt is how much “remembrance” plays a part in this story. just like the titles of certain soundtracks as u said, there’s even symbolism within the game’s design choices. like the black lightbulb in white space that symbolizes sunny’s repression of his trauma. then later he breaks the lightbulb in the story, trying to remember what he forgotten also, another segment related to remembrance is the creatures in the deeper well, telling sunny to “remember”
The developer put this music at the right time. The fact that you, Kel, and Hero are all there reuniting after 4 years have passed by. Mari would have been so happy.
my mother died 10 years ago (currently I am 14 years old) omori reminded me alot of my mother and since I don't take advantage of the moments with her, every scene where Mari went out and something hard happened broke me, this part of the game was the one that made me cry the most just with duet, thanks for the extended version
It would had been hard for every child to take advantage of moments with their mothers while being 4 years old. Saying this because It is such an early age to lose your mother, I'm deeply sorry for your loss. I feel through your words how much you love and appreciate her. As long as you loved and cared about her, she's not really gone. She's mentally by your side, like Mari is mentally with Sunny in the game. Thanks for sharing this, stay strong
The game doesn't have paranormal happenings, just trauma and halucinations. But i'd like to think that the ghost of Mari interfered with Sunny's dreams and expecially this scene saying "everything is ok, you went through so much pain, but you can forgive yourself can't you?" I like that idea.
@@i.currie1543 OMORI is etched into the center of the piano. He's also in black and white, and has striped pants. OMORI = piano? Mari's ghost is the *only* character that shares Omori's color pallete, and the theme when you fight him is named "alter". Bit of a text dump, but it's all the most strange things about OMORI that could rationalize this super interesting scene. Or maybe hero just misheard.
There's a tiny bit of paranormal happenings. It's implied in the game that the black and white Mari we see playing the Piano as well as guiding Sunny to Deep Well is her ghost, due to her appearing in the real world and apparently being heard by Hero, as well as her being a separate entity from Head Space Mari. For the MOST part, it doesn't have super natural elements.
This game hit me so hard that I start crying at the first note of this track. It’s strangely comforting, as if I’m getting a hug from someone long gone. Thanks for the extended version 🙏🏻
man I remember being so confused during this part only thinking "hey wait is that title screen song, it's pretty peaceful" now that I've beaten the game Im fucking sobbing
I remember when I heard this again on replay when you're walking through Sunny's house after you fight Basil. I just stayed in the piano room for like 10 or 15 minutes, crying and listening to the music. I didn't want to say goodbye to Mari. I imagine that's how Sunny felt too.
I love how the question 'do you remember?' has two sides; one as a rememberance to the happy memories of the past, and the other as the repremanding of forgetting the horrible thing you(Sunny) have done.
i cried at this part im not even gonna lie. it was the first time i had cried in the game. i dont know what it was, but the loneliness of the room, the song, the dull light, and the fact that hero comes in after breaks my heart. the piano is so soft, but so eery, which 100% adds to the mood and atmosphere. i feel as if mari would be happy about the reunition, but it just hurts to know that she couldn't be there for it. the way they showed this scene, with moving on but still being haunted by memories is AMAZING. omori is a game that i will NEVER get over and will continuously think about, i feel like it'll be my favourite forever
I miss them. Kel, Hero, Aubrey, Basil, Mari. I rarely feel so close to fictional characters, but this game got me. Hearing this music makes me sad, and makes me miss them.
I rhink i started crying right about now, couldn't stop for all of what was left of the game, didnt knew it at the time but i had done it in the true best ending, i just felt so bad for Basil's flowers and i gave them water everyday:')
you know what??? after i finish the game it gives me total sadness for about a month and every time i heard this all those sad thoughts are coming back to me and making me sad again. but oddly enough this music is my sleeping pill at night its so calming
Thanks for uploading this. I’ve been coming to this video a lot as part of a method to calm down and think. A lot’s been happening in my life recently and it’s important to take a moment or two to be patient and plan ahead. Weirdly enough, this also makes me want to cry, but I can’t cry for some reason. Short, but beautiful piece!
Maybe you're not used to cry and you are able to feel the intention to do it. I also felt the hardness to cry, the thing that slightly works for me is to concentrate on the feelings that move you to cry. Part of my reasons to upload this was to help people cope with stress, to have a nice OST to visit at hard times. Really glad that it worked that way for you! ^^

This is what i tell to myself everyday of my life since i stopped being a shut in.
What a game, I nearly went from seeing sunny cry in the beginning, to almost crying with him. If this game did not exist, i would not know what to do. This game has literally taken emotional to a new level, and i am glad it exists. This song almost makes me want to cry, but i cant for some reason. This song is both heart-warming and heart-breaking. It kills me that there is a bad ending to OMORI on the non-hikikomori routes where Sunny commits, even after seeing his friends and supposedly feeling happiness and warmth around them, especially on one day left. However, Sunny has like zero dialogue so it’s kind of hard to tell what he was feeling in the real world about how how he felt after seeing his friends after a while. Cell the Reuniclus: "That piano again... Who's playing it?" *Goes to see who's playing it, and sees a familiar Pokemon* Princess Gardevoir: "Oh, hi Cell, my, you've grown so much since I last saw you, or since any of us saw you in fact." Cell: "P-Princess? I-is that you?" Princess Gardevoir: "Of course it's me, though, it's just my spirit if anything, since, well, my physical body isn't around anymore, but listen, it wasn't your fault that our home is gone, or that the rest of us are gone, none of us could've done anything about the Erasure, but... I have a question for you... Would you like to play the Violin again? So we can play a song together, like old times? Even if neither of us were perfect with our instruments, I never really minded, because no one is ever going to be perfect with something when they start out, and even then, it will take a while for perfection to actually be reached, so it's okay if you mess up Cell." *Just as Cell was about to pick up the Old Violin and start playing with the Princess, one of the Pokemon staying with him for the night went to the room, and the Princess vanished* Lucario: "Huh? Cell? What are you doing here? I thought I heard a piano being played..." *Cell tried to explain that it was the Princess, but when trying to mention her, no sound came out of his mouth, as usual* Lucario: "Guess that problem is still around for you, huh? Well, it's pretty late Cell, you should probably go to bed." *Lucario leaves, and just as he did, Cell hears a voice, similar to that of his father's voice* ???: "Cell, my son, I know there's a way to resolve this, but it may take some time before it can get resolved, just know, we're always watching you." *Cell seemed to have tears in his eyes, but wiped them away before heading back to his bed to sleep*

Princess Gardevoir: "Oh, hi Cell, my, you've grown so much since I last saw you, or since any of us saw you in fact."
Cell: "P-Princess? I-is that you?"
Princess Gardevoir: "Of course it's me, though, it's just my spirit if anything, since, well, my physical body isn't around anymore, but listen, it wasn't your fault that our home is gone, or that the rest of us are gone, none of us could've done anything about the Erasure, but... I have a question for you... Would you like to play the Violin again? So we can play a song together, like old times? Even if neither of us were perfect with our instruments, I never really minded, because no one is ever going to be perfect with something when they start out, and even then, it will take a while for perfection to actually be reached, so it's okay if you mess up Cell." *Just as Cell was about to pick up the Old Violin and start playing with the Princess, one of the Pokemon staying with him for the night went to the room, and the Princess vanished*
Lucario: "Huh? Cell? What are you doing here? I thought I heard a piano being played..." *Cell tried to explain that it was the Princess, but when trying to mention her, no sound came out of his mouth, as usual*
Lucario: "Guess that problem is still around for you, huh? Well, it's pretty late Cell, you should probably go to bed." *Lucario leaves, and just as he did, Cell hears a voice, similar to that of his father's voice*
???: "Cell, my son, I know there's a way to resolve this, but it may take some time before it can get resolved, just know, we're always watching you." *Cell seemed to have tears in his eyes, but wiped them away before heading back to his bed to sleep*
