Mo, the crazy good guitarist is Slash. He's really one of the greatest guitarists we have. The singer is Axl Rose, who is a national treasure. GnR was never one of my favorites, but it's still the favorite band of one of my closest friends. I've come to appreciate them more and more each year! This song is a love song, as you thought, and it talks about his love reminding him of both the good and bad things from his childhood.

There was a time when Guns and Roses were considered the biggest band in the world. Super talented, great songs, great stage presence.
Try Patience, Don't Cry, Estranged, Civil War, Paradise City etc for other great songs of theirs. Knockin'on Heaven's Door is a Bob Dylan cover they do and is amazing.
