- Who needs Quake duel when you have buffed marauders.
I've had a few requests to do the updated the holt slayer gate, "it's not interesting enough to be worth to upload" was my thoughts, so why not make it interesting. There was no doubt the original one was too easy, and I have heard some rumours that this new one is too difficult so it's going to get nerfed. No idea if that's true, but in that case I figured I'd do this before it's too late. (edit: this gate is now easier in the current patch of doom eternal.)
ai_haste_overriderate 2 = double movement and attack speed.
No idea how many times I should have died here... or how many times I actually died attempting this.
Blood maykrs at double speed is probably the most bullshit thing I have ever seen in doom eternal so far. Carcasses that respawn constantly is not too far behind. And of course, a possessed marauder, where you have absolutely no idea when he's going to attack. I don't think I've been bullied this much by an AI since Xan in unreal tournament some 20 years ago. I kind of forgot about the second marauder spawn, I think a carcass shield saved me from him, so there's that :)

Thats not double speed, the possessed is already an uknown multiplier to speed, and then i dont know if its additive or multiplicative with the haste+2 ... honestly it seems x5 speed lol
@@jasongreen7860 I think its 1.5x according to Decino in his videos about spirits. So that means probably 3 to 3.5x

That possessed Marauder getting blocked by Carcass's force shield was funny.
Gameplay speed is dizzyingly fast, but ZM still manages to track everything. This guy's reflexes and hand-to-eye coordination are otherworldly!

The encounter itself should be manageable but I feel like the arena it is in is simply too small. It makes the encounter drag on and on as there is simply not enough space for a good hit on the possessed marauder.
I agree. Pre-patch it was too easy, but now it's just awful...

Ohhh, I had not played this game in months and I didn’t remember this slayer gate having archviles and marauders when I had played it on nightmare day one. I remember there being barons but overall it wasn’t too bad, it was less much difficult than the crap that was the super gore nest master level.
@@user-py5wc6np4n they silently patched this gate. Before it was relatively easy, now it's what you saw ZM beat. 3 archviles, 3 blood makyrs, 2 doom hunters, a posessed marauder and a marauder with infinite carcass spawn.
Doom eternal be like: enough i can only be so difficult.
And new difficulty come it HAHAHA YOU THOUGHT THAT WAS ALL MORTAL???

@@gbm3050 Yeah, but I am talking more about constant movement, verticality, hunt for resources. In that regard Doom 2016 / Doom Eternal is Quake III Arena with really good and diverse bots.

Idk about that I did the entire holt level including the slayer gate using only combat shotgun, heavy cannon, and microwave beam (only for spirits) took about an hour and a half, and a handful of deaths, but it was fun. Not to mention all the speedrunners, but I suspect you didn't mean that literally

Don't give them any ideas! That damned Possessed Marauder surrounded by Carcasses was really bad enough. Up until this, I had thoroughly enjoyed Marauder fights. I had a blast fighting the two Marauders at once. But once you take away faltering, make him twice as tough and aggressive while Carcasses and Imps become his body shield, it really stopped being fun.

@@RamonSmithMusic They should start the fight with that, you gotta beat everyone else just to get to practicing that lol. Makes me appreciate games where you can save at any time. Always astounds me they’ll have checkpoints for each part of a Boss fight but even non-slayer gate campaign arenas that are way harder have none. I noticed they did have a checkpoint in the final arena at the UAC facility though (after the double marauders), I appreciate that (even though I got it on my first try).

As a casual Zero Masters viewer, this is the first instance of me seeing him swear on the Internet. Referring to the description.
Something I have noticed when dealing with the Marauder's dogo.
If you use the ice bomb on his dogo, it dies and releases health.
As much as I enjoy high skill play this is the only video I had to fast forward of Zero Masters a bit because I was getting 2nd hand frustration on how it must have felt trying to do this, my legs were slightly aching from the potential stress that you must have went through into beating this. Good job!
Was wondering when or if you would make a video for the Holt gate, and you did it with haste 2 and nohud it's unbelievable! Just amazing!!!

It's been a while since I've played this game, and I can't believe I used to play games this difficult. The other day I tried to play again and it was so damn hard. It really is something else this game. I love it so much!

This video is fun to watch, I couldn’t beat or pick up this game while I was playing on Xbox One S. I think it’s me that this game was made for PC. It was fun but I had a hard time enjoying it. This game was BIG improvement over the 2016 I’ll give them that.

I think the most challenging part of a frenetic Doom Eternal moment is the weapon switching! It aids movement sooo much, like Zero here just gracefully flying around courtesy of those lovely Super Shotgun switches. I need to give my mortal eyes a rest now 😂🤣

So, Spirit already gives a speed boost, which is doubled by the console command... oh God. This is some serious next-level gameplay. I regularly practice this Slayer Gate on Nightmare without further augmenting the difficulty via console commands and despite my somewhat 10 hours put into it, I only recall five successful completions.

This gate is downright mean. It took me 2-3 weeks of repeated attempts to beat it on Nightmare. I did find that abusing Remote Detonate and Sticky Bombs was the only way I could deal any damage to the Possessed Marauder.

It took me around 50-55 runs to close this gate but attention at normal difficulty 😅😅😅. This guy is and his gameplay at nightmare is insane 😮😮😮. I am impressed.
