It just takes some people longer to figure it out. 20 year old car. Replaced the driver seat material, headliner this year. Will replace the heat/ac panel control in a month.
I haven’t touched my Toyota in 5 years besides oil changes this fall I completely went through the whole vehicle even sanded the frame and rust proofed everything it looks better then new now

I'm with you, I have manual seats but automatic windows. I'm not that concerned about the windows though, I run the A/C all but like 3 days a year anyway.
That Focus/Fiesta power shift automatic transmission story is down right criminal. All they had to do was use a proven off-the-shelf transmission design. The fact they both knew it was junk and that it couldn't be fixed was unconscionable. Ford NEEDS to build a Toyota-reliable vehicle that is simple and affordable to win back the trust of the people.
Not like if you could afford a f150 or a mach e it wouldnt be worth it. Pay too much lose too much kiss your retirement goodbye and get back to work while those youth are in highschool and college etc during that lunch shift grandma
My Dad worked for Ford and we got a new leased Ford every year. Once in a while we’d buy them after a year. All of them developed electrical leaks buried inside the Frame with the wiring harnesses. Took about 4 years then you couldn’t trust starting after a few weeks of being parked.
I bought a NEW Ford Tempo back in the day and it had more towing miles on it than driving. Ford's response was "we have the money to drag it out in the courts until you are broke" and they did just that and never got my car running correctly. I had to sell it for parts and still pay it off...I will never have a thing to do with Ford again.
Ford was the only one out of the Big three that didn’t take government money during the 2008/09 Great Recession. That’s why I have my money on Ford and one reason why I bought a 2024 F150 Raptor. I couldn’t be happier. Absolutely the Best vehicle I’ve ever driven. It rides like a Cadillac, Zooms like a sports car while having the utility of a pickup truck.
I purchased a 2020 Ford Edge SEL AWD with the new 2.0 Ecoboost it currently has 48K miles. No recalls on mine yet. My Ford mechanic friend does all the maintenance that I don't want to do. He says Ford quality is crap now and to sell the car at 100,000 miles or when TSHTF I will be sending it to the junkyard because it will cost more to fix than the car will be worth. That's the plan. I will never buy a car with a turbo ever again.
My friends dad worked for Ford for 30 years. So he’s a Ford guy. His Escape had the ecoboost engine failure with the coolant issue / head gasket failure. They bought the car back and he leased another Escape. So at least they handled it right but I can’t believe it died at only 65,000 kms. Brutal
I will never buy ford. I bought a new 250 diesel in 2007 , the engine left me stranded two and i learned what the death wobble was repeatedly. They wouldn't fix any of it. They lost a lifetime ford supporter. I only by tundras that were made 2020 or earlier now. Have no problems
Same here, dad's a GM guy thru and thru. Us kids well...older bro has a 2016 odyssey, lil bro has a 23 Tacoma and I, the middle kid drive a 24 Frontier 😂
The Ford dealer here my home town had one Mach-e haven’t seen one since. Bronco’s yes wander how many un happy customers bought them how were they treated under the re calls. If they build them here or elsewhere. Quality attention to detail parts. etc. To me if theirs a chip shortage but if a feature that’s on the car that you ordered or the dealer, they should have a. back order free install later so lots can be filled up. Dealership’s ought to start a restoration spot so as long as it’s a Dodge etc, it can be put back together looking brand new. Charge fair prices wash wax detail. Do little things rock 🪨 scratches. missing badges letters.
Greed, involving in politics of the Democrat's EV mandate, turning it's back on consumers, and unconscionable exploitation of its workers destroyed Ford.
Scotty is right, the complex technology is not going to last long. Manual transmission is simple and runs forever. Forget ECO BOOST or turbo charged engines.
A pity its come to this. I currently own a 08 crown Victoria sedan. The last of the bygone era ford. The ford today isnt the ford that built my car new.
My last vehicle before trading it was a 2010 F150 5.4L. Honestly, it was one of the greatest cars I've ever owned. It's so disappointing what Ford turned into.
crazy how much people rely on random tips online when The Bull Awakening by Taro Arimoto exists but I guess not everyone is ready to understand how the game really works
@@zackmax7184 😳 OMG the designer should have gone to jail for that! Did Ford ever address this problem? Think I know what your answer will be. 😖 My parents were furious with Ford after the 1970s. I could tell you horror stories about the 2.3 L OC 4 cyl. It was in our 1974 Pinto wagon & 1978 Fairmont wagon, a car too big for that engine. Long story short, both camshafts had lobes that were worn ROUND before it was all said & done. My dad tried to get help from Ford but that went nowhere. 🙄 So my parents bought a new 1980 Buick LeSabre Ltd 231 V6 coupe & I'm still driving her nearly 331,000 miles & 44 years later. AUGH! Alan is my room mate, he's a mechanic, a gearhead who also can't stand Ford. He says even the late 1980s F-150s had 2 spark plugs you couldn't reach without lifting the engine. 😱 That's a lot of cars actually. I wouldn't own anything made after 1985, OMG. I'm Lori BTW, I was the little girl who played with cars constantly, LOL, still do. 😁
Great content and always very informative as usual! I have a 2020 Ford Expedition Limited and the quality is not good on soooo many levels. They could have had a very good product but they chose to ruin it by the level of cheapness in so many areas. Truly pretty sad and I wouldn't buy another one in the future.
The older models were made better if people who are being laid off could get together and start a new company and make a quality vehicle they could make good money 😊
With Stellantis in the toilet, Chev/GMC transmission recalls , and Ford 7.3’s eating camshafts, WTF should a commercial operator purchase? I can’t exactly order a fleet of 77 highboys for the oil patch, first gen Ram Cummins or pre-2020 Tundras. Ford F-series is the best of the worst for full size. Probably the only thing keeping them going.
I love my Ford. Of course, it's a 1972 Ford Gran Torino with the 351C-4V engine, C-6 automatic, competition suspension and not a lot else from the factory, and I am rebuilding it the way *I* want it to be, not what someone in Washington, DC thinks who wants to "make the better choices FOR me". Will it get high gas mileage? No. Will it be an EV? No. But when it fires up in the morning and rumbles to life warming up, I don't care about any of that. I bought (and am building) the car *I* wanted, for ME. Perhaps Trump will roll back some of this nonsense and let car companies make the vehicles that their customers WANT to buy again? If someone else wants an EV, then great. Go buy one and be happy, and enjoy it. But don't decide to push for taking away everyone ELSE'S right to choose for themselves what they each want to drive in the process. As for the quality control, honestly Ford *can* do better on that. But they need to get past the "ONLY make the highest margin pick-up truck fully loaded $100,000 sticker price pimp-wagon" mindset, and get back to offering something closer to a Pinto but without the exploding gas tank, but at a price point that would be the inflation-adjusted equivalent to the Pinto's $1919 base model price tag. They obviously cannot do that with offering everything but the power butt-scratcher options as standard marked up equipment, but there is a pent-up demand out there for CHEAP, basic transportation that an average person making $20/hr can afford. Whomever hits that market niche first will have the better mousetrap and at this rate, it will be China instead of Ford. They can figure out how to do so; they just don't have the Will to do it and have the misguided notion that it might eat into their sales of those $85,000 luxury barges that this segment of the market aren't buying anyway. At the same time, a well-built cheap small car like that *might* go a long way to rebuilding their brand image in the minds of those buyers now, who may someday later on have money for the higher end products?
Very interested in a Maverick Hybrid when they came out. Could overlook the cheap parts at $22k then. Now the 2025 is $30k base. My 2002 Ranger is just fine.
Nope, no Fords, no Chrysler, no Nissan, no Mazdas, no Mitsubishis, no Hyundais, no Kias, etc. for me. Now if General Motors starts making Saturn's again with the same quality they had from 2004-2007, then I would consider buying more of those. Now some Hondas and Toyotas I would maybe consider with no 4 cylinders, no turbos.
Problems with Ford DEI hire E cars (especially when they did a freaking E Mustang - there is a reason Mustangs, Audi's, Mercedes, Porsches were good, because of the engine, now they all go EV, they don't have an engine - just electric kids car) They stop making Ford Fiesta - which was a good seller as well, although seems like most car companies post 2022, they all have issues - probably mostly to do with quality of workmanship and materials
Ford always had problems reporting sales by customer type. This new organization is a very smart move as each customer-focused division can sink or swim on their own merits. Another way of looking at it is that Ford can shutter the Model-e division without overly disrupting the others.
Dear Ford, Build a SIMPLE car and a truck with a normally aspirated engine, a manual and an automatic transmission option that is made the way they were made when car companies had common sense and price it so the common working man can afford it and you might Make Ford Great Again.
Why manufactures choose extensive drivetrain changes to proven applications doesn’t make any sense…sure, retool the exterior occasionally to look up to date, but outright redesigning drivetrains from the top down can be an expensive mistake for a company…
I’m a Ford owner and will never buy another. The Eco is just pure crap, I blew a 2.7 and had to buy a 5.0. Ford’s 4 cyl eco’s are just plain junk and to make things worse, they refuse to make good on their quality issues. GM isn’t any better with their small engines, which leaves us with RAM, what a crap company they are.
I hope Ford Company will be pull themselves together and make things right because back in old days they were making reliable bullet proof vehicles. They have style and name, only thing they need is good high quality control.
Restamp the 1985 Econoline series exactly how they were. Do many other throw backs. Car companies should be listening to consumers like me. We ain't buying these new designs they keep wasting money on.
Wife has a 2017 Escape that I had to tear apart in order to change the battery. Had to take off windshield wipers and the exterior dash just to get to it. Dtr has a 2020 Escape that needs software updating in order for the AWD to possibly work. It says it isn’t available when she starts her car. Ford dealerships on a waiting list to deal with it as well as a door recall.
Quality is the primary barometer many new car buyers judge before buying a vehicle. Once manufacturers connected sub components of the primary systems to the ECM we see system failures. Are internal lead engineers ever held accountable for their failures OR are they just moved onto the next product?
They are pushing ahead too hard with the problematic battery tech they have now. Someday batteries will be better and safer and cheaper, maybe. Some products explode on the market because the time is right. Some that could have but died because they arrived too early or too late.
I'm glad I bought my 2017 Ram 1500, has a simple V8 engine, super reliable transmission and is near the end of the 4th gen Rams long production yet not so far in to have a couple of the changes I don't really like.
Ford wants to be at the top for any of the dozen reasons they claim?. Build and sell an EV with the MSRP of 10,000 dollars. 15k out the door. You want to sell vehicles?. Doesn't matter the color or the options. If nobody can afford them, you won't sell them. Henry Ford "They can have it in any color they want as long as its black".
@@robertseavor4304 The third selfie stick gets a decent length and firmness under the right circumstances. The rest of the time, it's either hanging down or tiny.
They are horrible and wouldnt fix my car under warranty when the warranty company said I couod only use Ford for that particular car. Leif Johnson AND Covert of Austin TX. Wouldnt even put on a recall part !
Had a 250 dollar 92 e150 van that was bulletproof and drove a free mercury sable that was so so. Both needed everything when I got them. I wouldn't pay any real money for anything made by the big 3.
What they need to do is eliminate all the anti pollution parts including the cats and the chip keys. Offer cars that people want at a fair price. The lobbyists to Congress need to be overruled. Scotty should be a top advocate for this.
I bought a Mustang taht stickers for over 61k - which is going up to over 66k in 2025! And the screen sometimes freezes and has even gone black a couple of times. Not what I payed nearly 60k for.
I own a 2007 Ford Falcon. 402k kms still runs great but. would like to get a ranger when it dies. But now think I'll just buy an actual truck 4x4; Mitsubishi Canter/Fuso or Hino.
this is good but if you haven’t read The Bull Awakening by Taro Arimoto you’re only seeing part of the picture when it comes to navigating the next bull run
Ford wants to.make 2 million ev? Thats 1.99 million unsold cars that will go from assembly line straight to junkyard. What a huge waste of resources. Talk about not being green. We need to go back to 90's style cars with minimal computers. Just simple, basic, reliable, last long, easy and cheap to fix. Get rid of gdi, turbos (with over 10lbs of boost), power/heated/cooled seats, gps, music streaming, collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, back up cameras, ev, hybrid, cvt, auto wipers, auto lights, automatics (unless a person is missing an arm) (being a lazy useless human is not a reason to drive an auto trans). Im sure im missing a few useless items modern cars have. Give me a 2.5 litre nat asp or a tdi mated to a six speed manual with limited slip diff, cruise control, cd player, manual seats, manual driver window, power passenger windows (i drive alone, super dangerous to lean across to roll up passengers window), made in japan

He says Ford quality is crap now and to sell the car at 100,000 miles or when TSHTF I will be sending it to the junkyard because it will cost more to fix than the car will be worth. That's the plan. I will never buy a car with a turbo ever again.
Good luck finding any non-turbo engine out there.
Of all the vehicles ford has, ford edge is the most reliable car based on consumer report.
Brutal
Ford be killin it on the drag races with them aluminum single cab v8s tho
The car industry can't take any more shocks.
Why not ? We already take lots of shocks from Democrats and their LGBQAFJSJD
“Scotty Kilmer shocks the entire UA-cam community”
I quit buying Ford products, a long time ago. Never again.
LOL we quit decades ago. I could tell you horror stories about the Pinto & Fairmont 2.3L OC engines, OMG
WORST company ever.
Will how high prices go how low average oarts quakity goes. Cheap seals even before they totally gave up and make the engines parts out of plastic
Scotty said a car company is not about making cars. It is about making money.
Give me an old Ford F-100 with 3 on the tree. 302 with points and condensers. Maybe an old Jeep to build with a straight 6 and a six speed manual.
Amen
Your Jeep is made by Roxor and it's reliable and cheap. Can't register one in the USA because of the government.
I wouldn't buy a new Tundra now either.
All Ford had to do was, stay away from the government and please it's customer base.
GM is in the same boat
Dad was a Ford man. Us kids all own Japanese cars and trucks.
Same here, dad's a GM guy thru and thru.
Us kids well...older bro has a 2016 odyssey, lil bro has a 23 Tacoma and I, the middle kid drive a 24 Frontier 😂
My dad bought Plymouths, Fords and GMC and in his later years Toyota because he was done fixing them himself.
Even Toyota and Honda are having FUBARs. It's like everyone has forgotten how to build cars. smh.
You (or your kids) will eventually buy an electric car made in China. Over 1/3 of their new cars are EVs. EVs are the future for sure.
I hate those tesla Ford's. Darn liberals
s
Meanwhile, my neighbor has a 2002 Crown Vic that’s still on the road as a daily driver, smh
The Crown Victoria/Mercury Marquis. Proof that Ford once knew how to build a good car.
Scotty is right, the complex technology is not going to last long. Manual transmission is simple and runs forever. Forget ECO BOOST or turbo charged engines.
Manual transmissions also can be blown up during a testdrive bro
Your channel is a real discovery for me! Thank you for such videos! 🍓🌺
A pity its come to this. I currently own a 08 crown Victoria sedan. The last of the bygone era ford. The ford today isnt the ford that built my car new.
Built in Oakville, Ontario
Very simple fix.
1) VERY AFFORDABLE
2) reliable
3) simple
4) VERY AFFORDABLE
5) reliable
6) simple
Etc etc etc….
My last vehicle before trading it was a 2010 F150 5.4L. Honestly, it was one of the greatest cars I've ever owned. It's so disappointing what Ford turned into.
I gave them a chance in 2019 with a F150. After 20k miles, I traded it in for a different brand. I'll never purchase another Ford. Ever.
crazy how much people rely on random tips online when The Bull Awakening by Taro Arimoto exists but I guess not everyone is ready to understand how the game really works
I used to like Ford until My 1998 Expedition started blowing Spark Plugs it had a 5.4 Engine.
Blowing spark plugs? How the hell does that even happen? OMG I thought bent pushrods were impossible!
@alanmorris1828 ford pit 3 threads pere hole
@@zackmax7184 😳 OMG the designer should have gone to jail for that! Did Ford ever address this problem? Think I know what your answer will be. 😖
My parents were furious with Ford after the 1970s.
The buy-in is exorbitant.
Our 1st Toyota is now 4yrs old. We are very very satisfied with this car. No need to look anywhere else
I kinda miss the telltale squeak that every pre-80s Ford developed
I like these videos, documentary style content.
There are still infrastructure barriers such as charging station shortages and few e-mechanics.
Only recall on my Ford, now three years old, was a software update.
I loved my 06 Ford Escape.
I loved my 72 Gran Torino Sport, 351 C engine, 4 barrel. I replaced the single exhaust with dual, glass packs.
Very interested in a Maverick Hybrid when they came out. Could overlook the cheap parts at $22k then. Now the 2025 is $30k base. My 2002 Ranger is just fine.
Thank you NHTSA
Nope, no Fords, no Chrysler, no Nissan, no Mazdas, no Mitsubishis, no Hyundais, no Kias, etc. for me. Now if General Motors starts making Saturn's again with the same quality they had from 2004-2007, then I would consider buying more of those. Now some Hondas and Toyotas I would maybe consider with no 4 cylinders, no turbos.
Ya know….ford should just re-tool and produce model A’s again….
Someone needs to make a gasoline engine retro kit for all those EV"s
Farley has ruined a company and gets a raise.
Great job on these vids
Great content Scotty much appreciated 👏
Problems with Ford
DEI hire
E cars (especially when they did a freaking E Mustang - there is a reason Mustangs, Audi's, Mercedes, Porsches were good, because of the engine, now they all go EV, they don't have an engine - just electric kids car)
They stop making Ford Fiesta - which was a good seller as well, although seems like most car companies post 2022, they all have issues - probably mostly to do with quality of workmanship and materials
I wish they still made the 69 Mach1
Ford always had problems reporting sales by customer type. This new organization is a very smart move as each customer-focused division can sink or swim on their own merits. Another way of looking at it is that Ford can shutter the Model-e division without overly disrupting the others.
My 2007 Ford explorer sport trac, has 270,000 miles and still kicking. 4.7 litre engine
My 06 Escape went 256K miles, I just regret not ever having changed the tranny fluid :/
4.6 maybe?
Dear Ford, Build a SIMPLE car and a truck with a normally aspirated engine, a manual and an automatic transmission option that is made the way they were made when car companies had common sense and price it so the common working man can afford it and you might Make Ford Great Again.
Why manufactures choose extensive drivetrain changes to proven applications doesn’t make any sense…sure, retool the exterior occasionally to look up to date, but outright redesigning drivetrains from the top down can be an expensive mistake for a company…
Very interesting video format! Thank you for such an unconventional approach! 🧡💖
I would never buy this GOVERNMENT ENFORCED way OVERPRICED,UNPROVEN TECHNOLOGY, NO RESALE VALUE AN UNRELIABLE VEHICLES EVER!!
I'd change my last name.
🚂🎶🎼🎵TRUMP TRAIN IS COMING, TRUMP TRAIN IS COMING🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸. He’s undoing all of that 💩
US will do the as Cuba did.......restore of 59's car.....and still on the road
Luckily, I don't buy fords after seeing my family's backyard fill up with their broken fords 😂
At least it wasn't the front yard.
@Marty-j9e real everyone will think it's a junkyard
Didn't Elon say competitors would go bankrupt trying to catch up to Tesls?
Right because everybody is driving a tesla LOL tf you talking about?
elon needs to get into farming cows man put like 10 billion into real beef. Less than 25% the cost of twitter
Elon should create a NA ICE car that is efficient, reliable, durable and affordable. He could be the next Henry Ford in America.
Elon is a joke
I hope Ford Company will be pull themselves together and make things right because back in old days they were making reliable bullet proof vehicles. They have style and name, only thing they need is good high quality control.
Ain't gonna happen.
Restamp the 1985 Econoline series exactly how they were. Do many other throw backs. Car companies should be listening to consumers like me. We ain't buying these new designs they keep wasting money on.
Give them a call.
As a ford tech. I can say the econoline was a very bad vehicle..straight 6 was good. Very poor in every respect otherwise
@ubeuonly Cheap reliable and gets the job done. Nothing else matters. Also they look good too. 👍
My grandfather was a hard Ford man. He used to say that if it’s in his driveway, it’s a Ford. Man he’d be upset if he saw them now.
My 2015 ram is the best vehicle I've owned. Too bad they've eliminated the hemi.
I appreciate you Scotty!
Yeah I'm part of "Ford blue" we subsidized "Ford E" with our sales waiting to see how it eats into our profile sharing eventho union said it wouldn't.
I have a 2022 Ford Edge Titanium. Its an excellent vehicle except the fact that it blew a turbo at 31000 miles
It seems plenty of people _can_ afford them.
I love the video. I learned a lot .
Keep up tge good work
Why buy a selfie stick when you were born with 2 of them already?
A selfie of an entire group at the same time. Duh.
I don't like to boast but I was born with three selfie sticks.
@robertseavor4304 As are all men, but one is too floppy most of the time.
@ColtonRMagby Nah. Most men are too short.
Thanks Joe n all U libs!
I like my '96 F150
Ford, Bring back the 300 4.9L engine. My 1994 F150 is still running strong even after 30 years on the road.
@@jaysmith179 Then you don't need another one.
Trendy companies call them "pillars"
They're divisions
Divisons create ..... division
What they need to do is eliminate all the anti pollution parts including the cats and the chip keys. Offer cars that people want at a fair price. The lobbyists to Congress need to be overruled. Scotty should be a top advocate for this.
Ford desperately wants me to trade in my 2016 Impala LTZ for a new Ford vehicle❗️Im going to pass and keep my 2016 and ride the wheels off it 🤝🏿
I bought a Mustang taht stickers for over 61k - which is going up to over 66k in 2025! And the screen sometimes freezes and has even gone black a couple of times. Not what I payed nearly 60k for.
the ford lightening is cool I don't like that light bar across the hood.
I love ford.....Sedans! I'm a Fusion Driver. They should bring the Dubai Taurus to America.
New Buick Envision and Lincoln Nautilus vehicles both built/assembled in China. No thank you to either.
I own a 2007 Ford Falcon. 402k kms still runs great but. would like to get a ranger when it dies. But now think I'll just buy an actual truck 4x4; Mitsubishi Canter/Fuso or Hino.
Ford Lighning is only good to light up your christmas decoration......
All these negative conmets are making me want to buy a ford lightning and Mach E when it breaks down. Thanks everyone
Scottie, answer me this. How did these Geniuses forget how to make a reliable car?
They don't want reliable, they want planned obsoletion. So people keep buying new. They don't even realize how they have damaged their brand.
this is good but if you haven’t read The Bull Awakening by Taro Arimoto you’re only seeing part of the picture when it comes to navigating the next bull run
Sounds like they need to remove the computers from these vehicles and make them old school so they work better. Probably would be a lot cheaper too
Whoa - Whre will I get parts for my 2010 Crown Vic? No rust & only 52,000 miles
