@@DogBeast221 Thanks to this latest video, I just did a deep dive on the internet about mountain waves. I've heard them called other things, especially on plane crash forensic documentaries. I can say, at least in the Pacific Northwest, that the affect mountains have on weather is starkly evident in the flora growing on different sides of them. Oregon in particular is actually three states: Everything on the east side of the Cascades, everything on the west side, and then the coast.

@aquachonk the weather can never be predicted accurate up here. He does a pretty fair job of doing so tho. He lives up here like most of us & watches weather with what he has & is a far better predictive assessment than the news & even sometimes better than the almanac. My comments iether backs up his predictions for inland NW or shows the latest development after it hits landfall. I'm here to learn just like you all but am very involved in weather patterns & like to think my information matters to you all in spokane as well. I work outside, daily & on a very wide range as I do pest control from spirit lake & priest lake ID- North spokane/chattaroy/elk/mead, & as far south as Cheney & fish trap. They send us everywhere!!!

I agree that this is a great channel. But why do you say that it is ahead of the NWS? Upon what metrics do you base your conclusion? Michael continuously complements and credits the NWS - so why can't you? Perhaps you're simply some disgruntled anti-government know-it-all?

It's blowing out of the northeast and is really reminiscent of some good snows around here, although with the warmer weather coming from the southwest it's highly likely to change to rain as the front passes the cascades so it should be a very interesting day in Eastern Washington so thanks Michael ❤❤

A major difference between these mid-latitude cyclones and hurricanes is that the wind field is much more spread out in the mid-latitude storms. They often are as strong several hundred miles from the center as they are AT the center. In hurricanes, the strongest are usually concentrated within 80 miles of the center.

We are Southwest of Salem. Our area near the Cascade mountains are expected close to 70 to 75. But we are staying positive. Since we are near the mountains I am staying positive but not holding my breath. Stay safe everyone wherever you are

Thank you for the thorough explanations. Rod Hill with Portland Weather/KGW confuses me as he is saying that the low’s position and projected NW trajectory back out to sea renders this just a “glancing blow”. Our Generac is standing by.
