Thank you for all you've done for preservation. I plan on being there for the 160th - first time back since 2004.

First time I’ve seen any photos or footage before the restoration effort began. What an awesome effort so far. Thanks for sharing the video!

Holy hell…this takes me back to my daily bus ride to Moore Elementary and FIS…passed by damn near all these Franklin sites and remember even then feeling kinda sad that it all was so built up. Mind you I was 9 or so…

Just truly unbelievable what has been accomplished at Franklin. You can’t even recognize it in this footage, it’s actually kind of wild!

This video really takes me back. Visited Franklin/Carter House in 1995 or 6 to help with the dedication of the Spring Hill battlefield. I was there as a reenactor for the 64th OVI which was raised in Ohio where I live. So much has happened there in 30 years. Great to see!

Is Thomas Cartwright still doing tours and such down in Franklin?

He has not been involved since 2008. All of the reclamation happened after he left.

@@ericjacobson7321 I have been able to find some material of him on UA-cam. Ever since the Civil War Journal television show I have been struck at how good of a story teller he is.

@@jacobmasters438he is. Sadly he just walked away from Carter House in 2008 and has never shown any interest in being involved since then.

@@ericjacobson7321 That is unfortunate to hear. Thomas Cartwright on Civil War Journal and Unknown Civil War Series is just absolutely captivating. I've been able to scrounge some of his material that is on UA-cam and it's well worth anyone's time. Especially the tour bus guide titled "Hood's 1864 Tennessee campaign." It's a bit hectic recording at times. But, nonetheless it's good.

I feel like I disgraced history with all the pizzas I ate from that Domino’s.

Back when Williamson County wasn't as pretentious or as uppity as the present. Miss those much simpler times!

@@ericjacobson7321 Not the battlefield, the rest of the county. Before the over-building & vast population influx began. It had more of a small town feel & charm to it, personally.

@@detsportsfan18well thanks for taking a fun post and dragging it down. But we will keep plugging along and are about to close on two more land deals totaling over $5 million.

@@ericjacobson7321 You did that all on your own, from what I see. I just was making a simple & innocent observation from back then, is all. I'm glad of the battlefield work being done, always have been.
