If the driver was impaired it makes sense that the charges should be vehicular homicide...many lawmakers drink and drive...so the laws are very lenient on those that kill people, many lawyers drink and drive...so the laws go easy on anyone that drinks and drives....so people like thsi poor lady will continue to die...her poor family will now have to deal with this, and when they look forward to seeing her...instead it will be a visit or worse, a phone call informing her of this tragic event....just horrible.
Hard to believe the dearth of my sister amost fiftyi years ago, and the traciton MADD was getting half a century ago, and we're STILL dealing with imparied/drunk/drugged up distracted driving, or people that simply should have self retired their license a decade or two ago. I don't even drive at NIGFHT now, but that's as I'm in elk, sheep, cattle, and bear country.
It's no exaggeration to say more innocent, non-intoxicated people have been killed by DUI drivers this year than suspects who were on meth/fentanyl/other hard drugs.

I broke down in a work truck on the side of an expressway. I immediately got out and moved at least 30’ on the other side of the guardrail. First trooper asked me why I got out. Other trooper said I made a smart decision.

Years ago I got pulled over by a chp for moving over because a sign said no trucks in the left lane, I told him that I moved over for his safety but he didn't care and still wrote me up, but what do expect from California?

The law is not to move over when you see an emergency vehicle on the side of the road the law is to move over whenever you see any vehicle on the side of the road you give them that space emergency vehicles should not be singled out for this kind of law it should be of anything singled out that regular vehicles cause you to move over emergency vehicles these people are trained to deal with this kind of situation they do not need the extra space the extra space is needed for common everyday citizens
Led emergency lights are way to bright at night. You can’t see where your going. It’s worse than high beams cause of the strobe. There needs to be some sort of dimmer for night use.
