- The sitcom star's one-liners from "Friends" still keeps people laughing, nearly 11 years after the hit comedy signed off. Perry is now putting a modern twist on another TV classic, taking on the iconic role of Oscar Madison in the CBS revival of "The Odd Couple." Perry joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss the show.
Joey: "You didn't cry when Bambi's mother died?"
Chandler: "Yes it was very sad when the guy stopped drawing the deer."

+freshlimejuice From my observations, he usually is. He was on an episode of Punk'd where they made him think that a place he was looking at a Porsche was being raided by the cops and in the end he just flipped his friend who set him up the bird like as if he was saying "Very funny."

I just LOVE this guy. I used to sort of dislike him for being an addict but now seeing what he began and the kind of person that he is... Such a great personality.
Good people can have addiction problems too. Matthew is open about his struggles but he is not only clean and sober he's helping other addicts get their lives together.

Marie B Funny you mention that, year's ago on Oprah, the cast were all on praising each other, but seemed cold towards Schwimmer, I felt they didn't like him. Just a feeling!
Randy G Schwimmer did a movie that was filmed in AC a few years back and he was interviewed on a local station and said that if the creators of Friends wanted to do something about the lives of the six after the show ended, they need to write a book. So yeah, I think Schwimmer is the reason.
Leave it up to Gayle to say the inappropriate and rude (and false) comment at 3:20 telling Matthew to his face that his other shows have failed. What a rude thing to say to anyone but especially someone like Matthew who was already very public with his problems. Btw, his projects didn't fail. He was on the most popular show of all time for 10 years. So his other shows were quality programming regardless of whether networks picked up additional seasons or not.

You know with this new show that "The Odd Couple." I think is really good, this past week with Regis Philbin on the train, it was really good.
I hope Matthew (or his agent) told Gayle that her questions were inappropriate. So awkward to watch but Matthew dealt with it with class, as usual.

I am a HUGE fan, and I don't want a reunion. It wouldn't be the same with 50 year olds - I do want them to keep doing the mini reunions though! Those make me really happy!

I watched the pilot of the original series. Honestly, it bored me. I'm way behind on the new one, but I like it better. Seemed like a decent show. But it's CBS. So they will probably shit can it before I get around to watching.
Still mad at them for cancelling Limitless. Should have known better than to break my rule of never touching a new action/drama series until it's logged at least three or four seasons. Networks love cancelling that shit. Especially Fox.

Oh, I sort of expected it to go on for a while since I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Didn't seem worth cancelling to me. I only just finished watched episode seven. But man, not sure if I'm gonna bother if it ends so abruptly anyways...

Perry really shouldn't do the young man 5 day beard stubble. It is mostly white and just makes him look sloppy.
So after seeing 6 episodes I gotta say
1) the pilot sucked ass
2) the rest of the show improves, not a gold standard yet, but it's getting there. 6/10
3) The laugh track is way too overdone. Laugh tracks are a neccessary evil, but in this case it's just over the top.
4) the acting still feels kinda stiffy and the jokes are ofter grabbed out of the joke barrel. I hope some more heartfelt moments arise, which is what made friends so great.
Yamayamauchiman You do realize that appart from Perry, the whole crew, writing staff, studio, and executives are other people that can not possibly recreate any of the Friends chemistry. Even Crane who was an original writer in Friends did not recreate it with Episodes and Leblanc. :)

Yamayamauchiman I think the acting is stiffy bc they are trying to hard to make it like it was and are reusing the jokes from the original Odd Couple and not really making it their own.. hopefully it will continue to improve and they can move away from that. I think a few things here and there to play homage would be fine but a lot of what I've seen was just remaking the old story lines with the same jokes and adding in some modern language and tech
