I've been dicking around with parts of it (though I'm in no way a studied classical guitarist) casually since I was maybe a few years younger than him and I'm 50 now. Please, reserve epithets such as "woeful technique" for guys like me!

Indeed. I was going to mention that this fellow sounds a chip off the ol' Yamashita. In no way do I mean that in any negative light!

私もこの点には違和感があります。速度を少し落として9連符で弾いて欲しいと個人的には思います。

これは、シャコンヌがセゴビア編とわざわざ書かないのと同じかと思われます。もはや言うまでもないってことで。
40年以上前で恐縮ですが、山下和仁が展覧会の絵の楽譜を発表した頃の現代ギター（雑誌）には、この編曲がセゴビアのシャコンヌの様な存在になるのか、みたいなことがキャッチコピーの様に書かれてました。まさに実現してるのではないでしょうか。
なるほど、今楽譜を確認したら、トレモロのところが9連符になっていました。これは驚異的です（笑）。
すごいね！
山下さん自身での演奏以外不可能と思っていたので凄い挑戦。
