I had the same kind of day late last fall. Practically every cast with my bucktail produced a schoolie. All about the same size you were catching with a few in the low to mid 20s. Thanks for sharing, bro!
Great to see schoolies still being caught this late in the season. I was killing them last week using 5 inch swim shads (bunker color). Did you use a moderate retrieve to keep your diamond Jig in the middle of water column? Thanks for these videos great job!
Sorry for the late reply, I've been really busy this past week. Yeah i was trying to keep the diamond jig pretty much in the middle of the water column, not touching bottom but also not riding the surface. It was a little tricky at times with the strong sweeping wind wanting to blow my line hard to the side lol. Thanks for watching👍
Really it changes every year what could be better. That particular year incoming was best. But generally 1-2hrs into changing tides has been good times.
I'd say it's not slim, like flimsy in any way. It'll get distance casting out there for sure. Both the 10ft6 and 9ft6. My friend has the 9ft6 and gets almost same casting distance as me on the 10ft6. I guess is going to come down to personally preference really.

Looks like it was worth going out in the cold! Thanks for sharing.
I always start off casting ten feet right ,left, center than further our depends on the tide..
Tough fishing high winds especially with braid.
I love the surf fishing. Great job

Just saw your video. Very nice !
I have never fished with the Diamond Jig.
Do you rip it through the water or drag it along the bottom?
Thanks !
Just a steady slow retrieve. Don't wanna really drag it across bottom, want it to swim on the retrieve.
@@jamesschlickoutdoors Got it !
Thank you for the advise. I will give it a try while the Bass are still around this weekend.
No problem man. Good luck this weekend!
I like your channel . Can't wait to see vids for next season
What type of line do you use?
I've been using this Kastking Kastpro braid for awhile now and really happy with it, 30lb test on my surf rod - amzn.to/31DQD02
Incoming Tide is the best ?
