"Demography is destroying capitalism with passive fund flows!" is a great title for an episode.

Yes, Mike Green is worth talking to because he talks directly with Warren Mosler, and if you want to be worth talking to then you should talk to Warren Mosler as well. #MMT

The spike of viewership for the Mike Green interview could be due to Google Alerts that some investors use to follow certain investors to hear or read their thoughts on any given subjects.

29:30 you “jack those interest rates” you’re also giving people who already have money (like me) more money for free, for nothing. And banks love having a higher interest rate for loans. You’ve got to look at the many variables of the equation, not just the “borrower”. #MMT

Maybe the snowy winters of your childhood were the outliers and you have a false benchmark. Similar with climate change, since you mentioned it, statistically insignificant to use even 100 years of data to make conclusions about 100 thousand plus year changes.

Industrialisation has been with us 200 years resulting in massive CO2 release into the atmosphere. You maintain we can only take a 100,000 year perspective? Yeah sure…

@@chrisp4170 keep researching climate change, listen to counter arguments. You should find that nothing is conclusive, and the opposing side actually is much more persuasive and emphical than the narrative side that happens to be the mainstream view. Also, follow the money and think who gains financially from a climate disaster narrative. Or don't and be a sheep. baaa

@@chrisp4170 The Penultimate Glacial Period ended ~128,000 years ago, the last glacial maximum occurring between 26,000 and 20,000 years ago. Still waiting for the "your AC/heating and transport use will kill us all" crowd to explain away that change, as well as the entire PETM and its' reversal from the Paleocene/Eocene. Reminds one of the entire "trust the science" clicle? Seems that they totally ignored any data that doesn't support a defunct narrative.

this was not useful. even the hosts themselves, at multiple points during this discussion, made concessions along the lines of, "these are interesting questions to ask. but are there any practical implications? who knows?" mike green already has a tendency to be rather long-winded, and this "summary" of his ideas further exacerbated the issue.
