I grew up watching my dad leave and come back for over 21 years in the Marines. Even though he has passed now I look back and realize the blessing of his home comings. Many families were not so blessed as mine. God bless them all!

I never served in the military; but I have had extended periods of time living abroad working expat. After not seeing my parents for 2 years I came back without telling them. That day was my dad’s birthday. I just casually walked in and scream at my dad “happy birthday!!!” His face was a mix of confusion, happiness and disbelief. Pretty cool day for sure.
Of all the surprised homecoming vids, i think this is my fave, because everyone in his family was there. Imagine how surprised they were! I watched the vid 3x in a row, i just loved to see all their reactions

I flew 1500 miles and was hiding in a restaurant when she came in with her friends ( they were in on it) I went up to her and she looked at me and said table for 5 please!!!! I said "Mom!!" Then she realized it was me and we all laughed! She just didn't register it that I was there....😂😂😂🤓
