- Опубліковано 11 лип 2024
- The OLOH Crew's seasonal stay in the Florida Keys turned out to be a few more days than anticipated thanks to an unfortunate underwater discovery. Add in a potent storm and a few potent cocktails, stir vigorously and you get this latest episode.
We aim to give you a a feel for life aboard for us and hope you enjoy it, perhaps relate to it or maybe even learn a thing or two. But it's simply our story. Nothing more, nothing less.
We mention a few vendors in this episode who really came through for us...

Think you guys have the best boating channel on U-Tube…your format, editing, content…it’s the ultimate “fly on the wall” experience! Makes you feel you’re on board and always part of the experience. Thanks!
And thank you Ben! That's what we're going for, so we're thrilled that that's your experience. Cheers!
We all love Jasper and love watching him have fun!😇😇
4:10 😂 Someone lost their mind, lol. 11:15 Drinking well is a great hobby, cheers!🎉
Love the both of you. I watch all of your videos. Would love to see you cruise down the Hudson one day.
Thank you Sal!
@@OLOH lol
I know that envy is one of the 7 deadly sins, but a tiny bit of envy watching OLOH over a cup of coffee won't kill me, right?
We'll take that as a high compliment and thank you very much.
We've spoken to those in charge and they have confirmed that they will let you slide 😁
Missed you guys
Oooh Yeaah!!! ⛵ Gone with the Wynns do it all the time!!!! ⚓
Good to see you guys back. Always looking forward to your next adventures. Cheers from Canada.
You guys are my most favorite UA-cam Boaters on the Tube. I love your , boat , personality, friendship and Jasper ! Guys keep up the good work and 🔔 to you.
And you are too kind. Thanks so much!
Run chicken run! Then the deck brush scene… just awesome!!!
Great job guys. Nice mix of life aboard!! We just purchased a small trawler and currently staying at Herrington North on the Chesapeake. Will be spending the winter bringing it back to life!! Lots of work...and lots of fun! Looking forward to your next video. Always are great!!
Thanks, as always George. We're so excited for your new adventure - it should be a busy winter with lots to do and lots of anticipation. You know that we love Herrington South and we've always heard good things about Herrington North. Looking forward to hearing about your progress. Cheers!
Great show guys, keep them coming eh!
That jacket looks awesome
Thanks Alex! Wan't easy to find just the right one but our patience paid off and we're very pleased with them.
Final blow? Whack the bell? You guys are so precious I could squeeze you!
I thought the same thing, LOL
Check out the new foul weather gear and clean the deck with fresh water. Makes perfect sense to me! Quick thinking and good job!
I knew we were not alone. Thanks Jim!
Really enjoyed the episode hope all is well
With wolfs licking another wolfs face is a recognition of their dominance. I suspect dogs are the same.
Just adore you guys 🥰
Love the sound of those 60 series Detroit’s, fair seas Ohoh
Rain cleaning! The best way and for washing tees and shorts!!
Hi AJ & Tim . Awesome video . Love how you guys manage the unexpected challenges of yachting with such a calm & positive attitude . Sun's down, Prop's off, Bottom's Up ! ps. I'm Canadian . Pretty good eh .👍Mark (Toronto) 💙
Mark - Thanks, as always, for your kind words. We love our neighbors to the north!
Anyone that doesn't take advantage of rain to clean their decks and hull are just lazy. Good job A.J.
I’m in fresh water, but I do break out my brush on my 38 Silverton SB!!!… lol
Great video guys!!! John 3:16
Pssst. Loved the episode too. 😁
Free water for deck wash count me in
Enjoying your content guys! We are leaving for Marathon Nov 2nd! Coming down from the Chesapeake.
Thanks so much! Have a great trip and perhaps we'll see you down there this winter.
Drinking is not all we do ! That is exactly what we tell each other as well. But like you say, we are also very good in that. Ah well, life is tough, somebody has to do it 😀😀
Great to hear from you finally. What marina is that
Thanks Mark. That's White Marlin Marina and we had what we we thought was the best slip in Marathon. Turns out the water was just too skinny for our boat. More on that to come...
@@OLOH I look forward to hearing our Hatteras is the same size as your boat.
Lekker man lekker
We love the videos and can barely stand the wait between them! We’re hoping to be on a boat within 5 years if everything works out. We are a (1) flexitarian and (1) vegan family. How difficult is it to find necessary provisions for the plant based life while you’re on board? We’re also wondering if you’ve heard of “The Very Good Butchers?” If not, they are a vegan butcher company…and as a part time carnivore and a foodie, I honestly highly recommend them!! Some of the best vegan options! Safe travels!!
Hey Tod! Thanks so much for the kind words. We really appreciate your comment and rest assured, another video is on the way soon.
The way we travel we have never really had trouble provisioning for any special needs. If we know we're going to be away from bigger towns with good sized markets and think it will be tough to find the stuff we like, we just plan ahead (plenty of storage and refrigeration/freezer space helps). The Admiral also makes good use of Amazon for dry goods like vital wheat gluten etc. But we are also flexible with much of what we eat, red meat aside. We have very close friends who are strictly vegan and were full-time, seasoned liveaboard travelers for a very long time and they never had a problem. We'll definitely check out your recommendation - thanks for that.
Here's hoping your five year plan works out exactly as you hope! In the meantime, we're so happy you're "virtually" aboard. Cheers!
Hey Tod, let me jump in on the food...we feed all types of folks when we are cruising around so I cook a lot of different things. Regarding vegan, I'm pretty well versed in that and if you make your own seitan and other protein replacements (I do) all you really need is Amazon for things like Vital Wheat Gluten, TVP, etc. Fresh produce is pretty readily available (while it may be a bit limited in places like the Exumas, it's like seasonal eating, you eat what they have and get creative!) If you are looking for stuff like Impossible products or any of the "prepared foods" type things, we've had no problems finding some or many in most places. You may end up needing to have things locally delivered...and as the trends for plant based diets becomes more popular it will get easier and easier. We'll definitely check out that butcher! Thanks for the recommendation! Cheers! The Admiral
You cleaned the deck with rainwater just like any self-respecting sailboat Captain would! 😉
Loved the video guys it was good to see you again, hi jasper, big change of plans for me, no more great loop (health reasons) so I traded my palm beach gt60 for a 2022 prevost motorhome and going to travel the United States.
Sorry to hear about the health issues but happy for your plans. That's a nice rig and you should have an amazing adventure!
@@OLOH me to I have a better chance at surviving another heart attack on land versus water lol,and yes the prevost is awesome 4 slides and I can pull my sl 63 in a matching trailer.
Boomer my husky likes it better than the boat
Spent many years vacationing there.
Live like a Captain... Play like a Pirate... Lol
🏴☠️😆
What is the price of a new prop compared to fixing one? We have a 22' open bow and we expect to replace the prop every year but one for our boat is only $200.
If only 😎
A repair, which is always followed by a tune and balance, is at least several hundred dollars. That's a bargain compared to a new prop which, for us, will cost around $4500. As we mentioned, our starboard spare has damage and we have determined that it really should be replaced. So we will be replacing our starboard prop this season with a new one and keeping the repaired prop as a spare. It's all part of the deal.
Have you ever had the pleasure to stay at the Faro Blanco yacht club in Marathon?
Why yes we have...

What kind of dog is Jasper he looks like our dog Renzo we adopted.
Jasper is a rescue whose Mom was a pit bill and, according to the DNA test we did, Dad was a German wire-haired pointer mix which makes a lot of sense based on his physical characteristics and personality 🐾
Never let a freshwater washdown pass you by.
Agreed!
Just to let you know you aren't crazy, I've cleaned cars and our boat deck in the rain before also
Whew! Thanks 😃
Yes it’s fresh water rain....it makes sense if you don’t mind getting wet
Only one nut on the shaft?
No, there are two. We were just confirming that the jam nut went on first.
2 nuts behind the wheel...ha ha ha🎉🎉🎉
