Ooh, I looove the African bantu knots mamas-it's giving "Sistah-gurlie-90s-Bjork" vibes and I'm here for it!!! 🤩 P.S. HappY Mother's DaY to your dear Mom!!! 💝 P.P.S. I think the waterfall immersion therapy is both unorthodox and holistically refreshing, which is right up my alley though I couldn't stop giggling when you let that "expletive" fly out due to the freezing cold! 😂
Well done Jewels…so many things that we’re not exposed to! Your ability to do something for your health and well-being is phenomenal. I love your channel!
I just found your channel. I’m a Nyc native currently living in Aix en Provenance. Do you have a video on your beauty routine? It can be tough for brown girls living abroad to find affordable products 😮
This does look challenging! Congrats to you! I was doing some breathing exercises during Covid lockdown, and found it was much harder than I had anticipated. I think you motivated me to get back to that.
OK, the breathing looks a little like yoga, but I had trouble getting into Bahamian water last week. I thought you were going to just jump in. It takes a good 5 minutes for me to get into water up to my waist if it's not warm. hm, You have succeeded in your challenge.
There are for sure similarities to yoga. However, there were aspects of it that have been more intense than anything I ever experienced in the yoga classes I have to. What I love about getting into and out of the water is to calmly do it. Using your breath to control your heart makes the process so effective. ❤
We're in Sweden and spring is finally here and chance of frost is over, hope the same is going on in Iceland (Island). Just saw a video of a group planting a million trees where trees once lived to give a forest a chance to come back in that part of your country. Glad you're showing how much amazing nature there is.
Unfortunately, chances of frost is never over. Every plant and bug living on this island has to be hardy enough to survive the spring "umhleypingar", where you might get a week or more of warm spring days, and flowers are starting to spring from the ground, and then BAM, frost again. With no regularity or predictability. While this is the bane of most plants and trees that are not hardy enough (though luckily we have enough hardy breeds of trees for the reforestation), on the bright side it is also the reason we don't have mosquitos even when much colder countries such as Greenland do. When the frost leaves and the mosquito eggs hatch from hibernation, a surprise return of frost kills them before they lay new eggs. So Iceland remains mosquito free!
You go gurl! We must all challenge ourselves be it mind, body or both! I felt the cold 🥶. I do something similar, but in the shower. I am nowhere near your stage. You are correct in that it helps your breathing and especially in cold weather. Take care of yourself Jewells. The world is under a lot of pressure.
What a fascinating experience! There is so much we still do not know about the mind/body connection. Thanks for sharing this adventure. Btw, love your sweater.
I am so happy you did this video. I visit Iceland yearly and I wanted to do this last June. Never got the guts to do this. I'm so happy you shared that there's help to acheive this.
This is fantastic! I heard an interview with WH on the Rich Roll podcast four or five years ago but never actually got around to doing it until a month ago and love it. I saw the WH trip in Iceland and would love to do it. Maybe next year. (Just found your channel a couple weeks ago but love it. Keep up the great stuff!)
Love this video! I can see how something like this would help someone be able to not only physically, but psychologically be able to withstand uncomfortable or not idea situations in life overall. I've heard it's great for your mental and physical health too! Great job on doing that! Beautiful waterfall area!
What I took from this adventure is your commitment to "be ok, no matter what". There are many modalities to arrive at that place, prayer, mindful meditation, yoga, chanting, etc. What I am most proud of you for is choosing to face the pain, walk through the pain and learn to adapt to the pain, aka: anything life throws at you. This breathing/cold water immersion method requires guts, perseverance and facing your demons. You didn't run from them, cover them up or medicate them .... you faced them squarely on! You did it, Jewells, and you are stronger, healthier and more resilient as a result!
Thank you Jewells, it was a great experience. You did amazing both with the breathwork and in the water 🙂🫁❄
Thank you! Your teaching and coaching is amazing. 🤗
Kudos to Jewells for going way outside her comfort zone to conquer the cold.
Thanks, Steve. Still a work in progress. 😝😊
Now THAT is what I call going outside your comfort zone. Go girl!
Takk! 😊

I love the way you venture out and reach for new experiences. 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Thank you!! Trying my best to broaden my horizons. 🤗
That was cool.
Thank you for sharing.
I definitely want to do this one day.
Awesome to hear and my pleasure 😊

You appear happier now
That’s amazing. Don’t know that I could do it. Great job going in more than once!
This does look challenging! Congrats to you! I was doing some breathing exercises during Covid lockdown, and found it was much harder than I had anticipated. I think you motivated me to get back to that.
🥳🥳🥳 so glad to hear that. I hope the exercises help you.
Oh, we had a debate in our home whether we'd even try. So I'll listen to you and make a decision.
It’s a very liberating and invigorating process. I’m excited for you to try it!! 🥳🥳

Great job! I know you said it was different from still pools, but I was wondering if it was colder than the cold tub at Sky Lagoon?
I want to be just like you when I grow up! This was amazing, Jewells!! \O/
I admire your bravery, Jewels😍
Thank you, Linda ❤️🤗

Yes! The frost is definitely melting. Glad the same is happening in Sweden. Thank you!

Cool! Maybe she can cover the trees project in another video.
I just found you by watching the first episode of a peacock new show. I sure would love to visit Iceland!
That’s amazing!! I hope you do visit Iceland. It’s such a fantastic country. ❤️

It’s awesome to hear that you do it in the shower. Thank you and take care of yourself too. ❤️

Well done Jewells! That is not an easy exercise 👏👏👏
Takk, Dirk 🤗

you'll have to come swim in Dýrafjörður this summer! the regulars are always welcoming, and i'm hoping to work my way up to it...
Okay. Can I be shallow? Love the sweater.
😂 thank you ❤️
Hello,
I really enjoy your videos. How long have you been growing your locks?
About 6 years but I also started my log journey with decently long hair.
I'm walking through this experience with you

Hey, Jewells! It's so wonderful to see ya xoxo
Thank you 🤗❤️
Wow, you are amazing and fearless!
Aww, thanks. Andri helped to make this possible. It would have been more intense without proper instruction and guidance.
Yay, this looks fun!!!
Thanks. It was fun 😊
Love this Jewells, I am in Maryland, USA, but if I ever come to Iceland, I will check that out.

That looks more calming than a massage! You get to control your body ,therefore manage your emotions . In my observations. 😊

Thank you so much, April ❤️. Yes, the idea is to be able to take on whatever comes at me and be ok no matter what. 😊
I love this so much for you. Thank you for sharing with all of us. I would love to do this if we go back to Iceland.
My pleasure and it’s awesome you want to try this. 🥳
I don't think most people understand how challenging this is! That water is incredibly cold and it hurts like hell. Impressive!
Yes, it was much harder than I expected. Thank you 🤗
You were only in the water for a minute 👑..you have to push yourself a little bit more to challenge yourself 😅😅
I was in for many minutes at a time and I went in twice 😊
