    Note! After this was uploaded, THG researcher Gio Castro, the brilliant genius, found more examples of similar Olympic/Titanic-type lounge clocks. So we now believe Mars and Minerva (not Venus as stated in the video) were represented on the clock and date calendar!
    Apologies if there are any other small mistakes (or terrible French.)
    Congrats again to the RMS Titanic, Inc Titanic 2024 Expedition and THG Research Teams!

    If they haven't already, with the most recent expedition to the wreck, somebody should've scooped Diana up off the ocean floor.....she deserves to join the other artifacts in preserving the memory of the great ship and, most importantly, those who sailed on her......

      I say leave it be. No reason to disturb her final resting place. Soon she'll be gone, with only photos and her story to carry on. And as she fades at last back into the Earth that bore her name, so too will the souls that couldn't escape the wrath of the frigid North Atlantic that night, free to roam the energies of the universe once again.

      @@erpfanatic6586many people including myself think that that does a disservice to the legacy of the people aboard Titanic, the people who built and served on titanic, and recovering those artifacts while we still can will allow future generations to see her legacy and her craftsmanship. It doesn't belong to any particular person so it is completely legitimate to recover it.

    • @rogerhuffmanjr.7695

      I hope they recover as many artifacts as they can while there is still time. A few exceptions in my opinion should be the shoes of course and anything that is directly attached to the ship. I know many people disagree with this and I understand, I used to feel that way myself, but in my opinion it is the best way to preserve the legacies of, not only those who were lost on Titanic, but an entire industry dedicated to the service and the craftsmanship of a magnificent bygone era.

    • @KoolDog570

      @@rogerhuffmanjr.7695 I agree on the shoes....those truly are a memorial marker. As for objects inside the ship, I say grab it all before it's lost in the wreckage. Anything/everything from the Marconi Room and I'd try to find a way to even get the fireplace mantle - the whole thing, clock attached - from C55 Strauss suite..... Let's get the Ismay fireplace from B52 while we're at it. A few bedframes, Edith Russell's vanity from A11....you get the idea.

    • @kabura8742
      @kabura8742 11 днів тому

      @GregorSamsa-f3m First off if it were a place that no one owns, just a tragic spot that my great great grandfather just happened to die from unfortunate circumstance then no I would still not my mind since millions of people have died in ancient cities that have been dug up and had personal artifacts put on display. It’s not like they’re going in there to directly target someone, it’s all fair game since none of it involve human remains. It is all being displayed with respect, remembrance, and education. Secondly no I don’t care if the person ends up making money from that bc it’s fair, if they’re taking the time and trouble to dig up historical artifacts then they deserve to get paid since there is a difference between grave robbing and being an archaeologist in your respective field which is a profession not a criminal act. So to answer your question, I’m still fine with it bc it’s all about the intent behind the recuperation of artifacts which is what separates it all from mere grave robbing with no laws and procedures. I would much prefer it to be remembered and displayed for as much as time permits rather then for it to be lost to the sands of time

    I'm looking forward to this! Also fancying a bit of Titanic-era writing style, so here goes! It was a great pleasure to read of Mr Penca's consultation for the BBC article, the other day, on Titanic's railing having collapsed since the last visit - although I must say I was perhaps a bit more surprised than I ought to have been, to see the photograph showing the huge gap where it had once been. These things bring home the fact that she is going, I feel; something it can be all too easy to forget, as we adventure through time, to a happier time, when she lived. I thought she had a heavy list to starboard in the 2024 photo, compared with that from 2010 when she appeared upright, although that might have just been the photo being taken at a different angle. Reading the article, examining the photos, I felt a sudden twinge of grief. Her beauty remains just about perceptible, but the dark has overcome. I have never felt more keenly the fact that she is a grave. That is why I, like Mr Penca and a great many others, feel it is of paramount importance to recover whatever can be recovered - so that even when her skeleton is all that remains of her earthly existence, her name, and those of all who sail eternally with her, may truly live forever.

    The lounge is one of my favourite spaces and it frustrated me that initially I couldn’t go in as the demo crashed but thankfully once I upgraded to a strong gaming laptop and a new and improved demo bam I walked in and it didn’t crash. 2:17 It’s the Jack and Rose panel. That’s had the internet divided for the last 27 years. On the subject of survival. 😂 also it was based on a very real piece of debris found floating in the ocean after the disaster. Which to me I find surprising that more wasn’t found since the room was smashed to bits when the ship broke up during the sinking. 3:56 I’ve always thought this was a clever design idea, to hide the vents behind the decor. 4:08 yes the fireplace. Will project 401 fix the glitch on the vases? As they seem to me to be a bit off model. With graphics lines running through them. On another note. I guess it’s no coincidence that Gio yesterday posted pictures of the lounge during the break up. Is it? (There is so much detail in this room the craftsmanship is amazing and insane.

    I know in 1986 there was a corner of the lounge still in the bow section with the raised roof still there. I wonder if any of the stained glass windows stayed on the forward part of the room before the decks all collapsed later.

      There was probably more of the lounge intact prior to 1986 since the ship broke at the back of the room and the upper decks might have been able to support it before they started to decay. The decks are gradually pancaking from the aft where she broke and is progressing forward. Titanic’s gym was still intact in 1986 with the roof yet to cave in.

But never very impressed with the first class dining room, but to be fair and considering the size of the room there was only so much that could be done with it. Ive seen pics of the statue before and assumed it had already been recovered but looking at it I wonder if the left arm was broken off or just imbeded, also I don't recall in the movie the prop being that tall.

    Who says the gambling tables were not used for having coffee or snacks, I mean the tables in the D-Deck Reception area had the same size, I guess the lounge was used pretty well. Maybe it is just a false claim by the Cunard agent who travelled on board of the Olympic.

    Nice presentation but learn how to pronounce the French word. No such English word as teared. Torn is what you want.
