If they haven't already, with the most recent expedition to the wreck, somebody should've scooped Diana up off the ocean floor.....she deserves to join the other artifacts in preserving the memory of the great ship and, most importantly, those who sailed on her......
I say leave it be. No reason to disturb her final resting place. Soon she'll be gone, with only photos and her story to carry on. And as she fades at last back into the Earth that bore her name, so too will the souls that couldn't escape the wrath of the frigid North Atlantic that night, free to roam the energies of the universe once again.

I believe the statue should be one of the items recovered from the site, it's in good condition and doesn't look like it would be that difficult to excavate from the mud
@GregorSamsa-f3m: That's fine by me, if it holds historical value and it is to be preserved in a museum for the benefit of future generations then by all means go ahead and take whatever you like it's not like I'll have any use for it. On the contrary, it'll help keep my memory alive :/
@GregorSamsa-f3m I nvr heard a more ridiculous statement in my life! These objects should be gathered up specifically to remember the lost lives. Preserve the memory in a museum for far more ppl to see and pay respects rather then buried in sand.
@GregorSamsa-f3m First off if it were a place that no one owns, just a tragic spot that my great great grandfather just happened to die from unfortunate circumstance then no I would still not my mind since millions of people have died in ancient cities that have been dug up and had personal artifacts put on display. It’s not like they’re going in there to directly target someone, it’s all fair game since none of it involve human remains. It is all being displayed with respect, remembrance, and education. Secondly no I don’t care if the person ends up making money from that bc it’s fair, if they’re taking the time and trouble to dig up historical artifacts then they deserve to get paid since there is a difference between grave robbing and being an archaeologist in your respective field which is a profession not a criminal act. So to answer your question, I’m still fine with it bc it’s all about the intent behind the recuperation of artifacts which is what separates it all from mere grave robbing with no laws and procedures. I would much prefer it to be remembered and displayed for as much as time permits rather then for it to be lost to the sands of time
Beautiful ship, thanks for telling us about that amazing room. Hey they found that Diane statue on the floor of the bottom of the ocean in August and hope to bring it to the surface. Wow Diane will be beautiful in an attraction for people.
Like the propellers, the statue has remained in perfect condition as its made of bronze. And will likely remain that way as the rest of the wreck sight deteriorates
I'm looking forward to this! Also fancying a bit of Titanic-era writing style, so here goes! It was a great pleasure to read of Mr Penca's consultation for the BBC article, the other day, on Titanic's railing having collapsed since the last visit - although I must say I was perhaps a bit more surprised than I ought to have been, to see the photograph showing the huge gap where it had once been. These things bring home the fact that she is going, I feel; something it can be all too easy to forget, as we adventure through time, to a happier time, when she lived. I thought she had a heavy list to starboard in the 2024 photo, compared with that from 2010 when she appeared upright, although that might have just been the photo being taken at a different angle. Reading the article, examining the photos, I felt a sudden twinge of grief. Her beauty remains just about perceptible, but the dark has overcome. I have never felt more keenly the fact that she is a grave. That is why I, like Mr Penca and a great many others, feel it is of paramount importance to recover whatever can be recovered - so that even when her skeleton is all that remains of her earthly existence, her name, and those of all who sail eternally with her, may truly live forever.
