Documentary film about the sacred journey of the Salt Songs of the Southern NUWUVI (Paiute People).
I hope all that watch this video, enjoy and respect it. This is a video of my people and my family. I myself sing Salt Songs for the passing of our people and for the memorials. I also sing and am learning the songs of the Desert Cahuilla through my Torres Martinez brothers. And through friends along the way i also sing with the Mojave and the Maricopa people... Thank you and enjoy.....

This brings back memories of being a child at Hanks Village in Parker. I was small and I remember my aunts, uncle's, my dad and mom singing these songs. They used to gather there in the old days. I loved hearing them then and I love them still. They are a part of my heritage.

Its good that we have this. I remember when i was growing up my grandmother had a recording of the songs and we use to listen to all the time. My grandmother use to say learn these songs and when you sing then sing them loud with your head held up high. Now that she is passed i am glad she gave the songs to us me and my siblings. I will forever carry them with me. Thank you for uploading this it had me tearing up to hear my native language in the beginning :)

Thank you for sharing this. I'm blessed to be Navajo-Apache-Cherokee, but have had only the paternal bloodline, phenotype & inner medicine path, and Great Spirit to teach me about the Old Ways. Thank you to author Mary Sojourner for telling me about this video. Please continue your work.

Thank you for sharing this! So beautiful and important. I work with children and elders at the Walker River Paiute Reservation. I would like to show them this film. Do you know who I could approach to ask permission? Also our work is in the traditional Paiute wild gardens of bread roots and lillies and berries and pinenuts. We are working to help mend the hoops and walk them again. We welcome all who are interested to join us in our efforts! Thank you.
