just watched this video it is very informative, I know this is an older video but just in case you don't know, you can wash your mats if you get a lot of paper stuck to the mat, just use soap and warm water and let it dry :D
This video has been super helpful to me:) its funny ,I'm a medical assistant and I do love my job but stickers, planners, and my avon business are really my passion. I want to eventually open up my own sticker shop and I was considering getting one of these ! Thank you so much
The information in this video is so accurate! I wish I would’ve thought to play with the software first, lol. I got a Silhouette Cameo 3 for my start-up home business and I’m now running out like a mad woman trying to figure out how to do vinyl transfers and heat transfers and labels and planner stickers and the list goes on! Lol. Thanks for the playlist too!
This has been one of the most helpful videos I've found talking about the silhouette machine. I also appreciate the helpful links that you've included in the description box. Thanks so much!
well this just motivated me to download the silhouette software and play around with it to see if i could get the hang of it cause i've been thinking about opening up my own sticker shop for a couple of months now...thank you for all the helpful information that you provided in this video! now onto playing with the silhouette software :)
I've looked at so many videos on the Silhouette and yours has been "thee" most helpful if all. I just placed my order and will be following your tips as well as looking at more of your videos. Thanks so much for sharing! 😄
Great video Kate! Very helpful information. I've been considering buying a Silhouette and this video gave me a lot of things to consider that I hadn't thought of. Don't think I'll have the time and patience for it right now. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and tips!
Kate, (or is it Cate, sorry if so) I know this was more than what, almost 3 years, but this was the most helpful on the Silhouette machines. Thank you SO much.
Fabulous video! Wish I'd seen this earlier, I just ordered my silhouette portrait yesturday. I cannot wait for it to arrive. I don't use the Erin condren planner so finding stickers to suit my planner is impossible, so I'm purchasing mine for reason number 3. I tried the software out first and found it really easy when I watched some UA-cam videos. Thank you for sharing your favourite clip art etsy sellers :) and thank you for this video!
+Behind The Olive Grove Yay so happy it was useful. It can take a bit of time to get used to to it but keep persevering its definitely worth the effort!
oh my god thank you! I am totally going to make my sheet less sticky then! Can't wait for sticker paper video. Is 1 lowest cut? as that goes all the way through my sticker paper, maybe I need thicker sheets.
Hi Kate! Informative and interesting video! My daughter introduced me to planners and I have been looking around and stumbled upon stickers and like you, was wondering if I could actually make them myself since I like customizing my things. Your video has helped narrowed down my decision (quite decided on the portrait as that is all I need and within comfortable reach of my budget) and you also answered all my questions that I had when I was browsing around ''sticker making''. Thank you!
+Geekonut yay I'm so pleased that the video was useful, I definitely don't think sticker making is for everyone but I absolutely love making my own stickers. I hope you do too when you get your Portrait xxx
SUPER HELPFUL video!!! Thank you so much for posting! I am a professional photographer and am self-taught in Lightroom, Photoshop and a couple other softwares. So I don't think the designing would be difficult for me. I'm still going to download the software and see! Never would have thought of that. Thank you so much!!! 😄
Loved your video, you are super helpful and I like how you explain things. I am thinking about getting a silhouette cameo and making my own designs. looking forward to more of your videos!
+Ko-Shin Thanks Ko Shin! I have recently used my Silhouette to make dividers so there is so much more you can do with your Silhouette than just make stickers!
This video is amazingly helpful. Thanks for all the information. I've been wanting to make my own stickers for a long time. This video makes me want to make them even more!! Thanks
thank you so much for this! :') planning has been a new obsession of mine and i'm glad that i've found this video before i splurged on an even more expensive machine.
Thank you so much for posting this. This was SO helpful and unfortunately I've found people haven't been so helpful with people asking questions. I wish I'd seen your video sooner. I already have a Cameo and it's probably more than what I'd use it for.
+dietriterocks I'm so glad it was helpful! Right now I dont see myself using my silhouette for anything other than sticker making but its nice to have the option!
Great video! Any idea how etsy sellers create their main photo when selling? I use Silhouette studio but am unsure how to pull my work created to place on a backdrop like they do. I'm sure most don't print, take a photo and then put in front of a backdrop. any suggestions?
Thanks so much for sharing your videos and making a playlist of other helpful ones! I, too, discovered SAMM videos. They are concise and clear, just like yours! Also thanks for the two Etsy shop suggestions for clip art. Another one I've found is: StickerStop on Etsy. (She is from Wisconsin, USA.)
Great video. Are there any other etsy clip art shops you would recommend that are inexpensive and have more functional icons? I looked through the ones you mentioned and they both had a few I liked but had mainly decorative clip art.
I use Flat Icon for my functional icons, you can choose the colour, file type and file size and import them into the silhouette software, best of all they are free!
I'm very glad I came across your video. I've been wondering if a Silhouette machine would work for me and how I use my planners. You've included information that I was looking for. I do have a question though - the shapes for banners and things, do those come as a download from Silhouette? What if I wanted to design my own stickers from scratch? Would I be able to make cut files of my own to trace shapes that might not be in a software library? Thank you so much and I'm looking forward to more of your videos!
+Jade XXIV Hi Jade the banners are really simple to make there are a couple of videos that should set you on the right track here: ua-cam.com/play/PL5P7qE7cnTC2cZyGP0XeWaCC9mCuxsYGc.html xxx
Hi, I truly enjoyed this video it taught me a lot, so much so I just became a sub!! I have been looking for you video on different papers and I can't seem to find it, if you could lead me there I would appreciate it. The sticker paper I use it way to thick and I don't know what other options there are available. Thank you so much for all you wonderful videos and your help.
Thank you. so helpful. think I'm gonna buy one lol I love making and love planner stickers lol. subscribed to your channel. can't wait to see more videos. I just brought a happy planner :) x
+Stephanie Stephenson thanks Stephanie! It can be a little frustrating to get started but now I am up and running I have templates I change every week and its so easy! You will be able to make them the perfect size for your happy planner which will be a lot of fun!
:) I had a go yesterday as I ordered one and came :) but I can't get it to cut lol I'm trying to print and cut. I have the marks on it and the blade on 4. Can't understand what I'm doing wrong. x
Hi there! I came across this video today and I loved how you explained everything. I've been thinking of getting the Silhouette Cameo but I don't know what is the difference between that and the Portrait. I was wondering if you could also tell me what is the difference between the Silhouette Studio Basic Edition and the Silhouette Mint Studio? Can the Silhouette also be used to cut normal pieces of paper / scrapbook paper into a design? I do hope you reply :-) x
i had a question in regards to price. I'm going to try stickers regardless because I just got a cameo, but I'm wondering -in your experience after buying paper & designing a few stickers- is it really cheaper than going out to buy a $4.99 happy planner sticker package @ Michael's or ordering a couple $2 sheets on etsy? like after factoring in ink use & paper, have you found much difference in cost? I think it's fun to make your own & customize them to your needs for sure. but strictly speaking in money terms, what have you found?
+longhorndreamer I think its definitely cheaper on an ink/sticker paper basis, but less so when you factor in the cost of the Silhouette!! I don't regret buying my Silhouette I use it every week just to make stickers!
wow I found your video super extra mega helpful. I love your accent ;) I'm Puertorican, a small beautiful island in the caribean ;) I live in Cleveland OH in the USA for over 17 yrs....anyways...love your video thank u for such great information. ..now I want to go by one lol I'm not a planner lady (yet) I do simple things on my planner. But I would love to do my own stickers for me and my daughters. ..; )
Thank you for the info :). I have a background in Graphic Design and I will be designing for etsy but cheaper and if someone wanted a certain type of sticker that could be done. I refuse to pay $3+ for an envelope sized sheet of sticky paper and no one else should be paying that either in my opinion.
a little to late, but I had bought the silhouette to make my stickers for my erin condren. I think that it was a waste of my time and money. I was able to return it and got a cricut instead. great move. love my cricut :)
just watched this video it is very informative, I know this is an older video but just in case you don't know, you can wash your mats if you get a lot of paper stuck to the mat, just use soap and warm water and let it dry :D

i saw the prices as well and was wondering what was so different except the look but your video made it much clearer thank you :) ♡
Ohhhh here are the answers to my printer question, thanks for the link, by far the most informative videos I have watched. Thanks Kate!!

+SUFlyGirl95 so pleased it was helpful, nothing worse than spending money on something that wont get used to its full potential! xx
Kate, (or is it Cate, sorry if so) I know this was more than what, almost 3 years, but this was the most helpful on the Silhouette machines. Thank you SO much.
which video shows how to cut it in rounded format?

Hiya, Have you gotten around to making the video on the various sticker paper as of yet? I wasn't able to find it on your page. :)
Some great tips - thank you
Thanks so much for this video! Thoroughly enjoyed!
Hey there! What kind of paper do you use? And which tutorial is it that helps cut the smaller pages out of the larger? Thanks! Love your vids!

I went to download the software but it isn’t free . Wouldn’t the fibers from the towel stick to the mat?
Loved this video, so helpful and informative!

Would the silhouette work with printable stickers from etsy??
Will you be making a video about the different papers you've tried? :)
+Laura Caldwell I did make one but decided it was rubbish so need to refilm, it may not be for a while but I will definitely get round to it!

do you know any sellers that sell the ink in the us?
Super helpful!! Didn't know you could download the software first to see if you like it! Awesome :)
Do you have a basic setting we could start with? I have cut through more mats than I am willing to own up to!
I'm really glad you said that it don't print... I was trying to figure that out

Do you have to purchase the software?
+hellokittycat2012 no the basic software is free on the Silhouette website, there is a designer edition which you pay for but I have the free version!
Your video was so great! I needed all this info.
a little to late, but I had bought the silhouette to make my stickers for my erin condren. I think that it was a waste of my time and money. I was able to return it and got a cricut instead. great move. love my cricut :)
