This is exactly why I look at fans crazy when players look after themselves first. These teams will do whatever is best for them with no regard for the players
Ryan Poles didn’t draft Fields, he had no loyalty to him.

I agree, but that doesn’t mean he should get to start over Russ, who is still clearly the better QB. Riss got f*cked over too! The Broncos put him in a horrible situation, as did the Seahawks 2016-2021. Russ was just so good that he masked a lot of Pete’s mistakes.

Micah is spot on. Fields was drafted by a GM who put the Bears into a massive hole. The only way for the new GM to pull them out of that hole was to trade whatever talent they did have and essentially tank for capital for a couple of season.
Exactly. Justin unfortunately got drafted by a lame duck GM and coach hoping that the rookie QB woudl save their jobs. Then the new guys came in and did what they had to do to rebuild the team. Fields did what he could but ultimately was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Also fields wasn’t good at throwing the ball…which is kinda important for a QB
Fields is a dude who doesn't know his place in the league yet. I think he can rip it. But a winning qb in the league? Fuck no.
@@Doctorstrange14605 anyone who understands football, would not say Fields couldn't throw ball.
He was a 50% deep passer, which was among the best in the league. He got better every year....you can look up his numbers.
The issue is folks like the comment above. We get the "why" but the Bears then put out a narrative that they could win with no talent, and you have people like the comment above who still judge Justin on his time in Chicago.
Had they been honest and defended him at least, he could have a fair shake at consideration.
This vid needs to go viral!! As a Bears fan first I do feel that Justin never received that structure. Now let's say the Bears don't do well this season and they don't renew the head coach's contract. Then the cycle continues. I don't understand why not upgrade at head coach if we claim we want the best at every position.
The don't believe in hiring experienced coaches
Im glad I wasn't the only one thinking that!!!!!! Salute CJ!!! Micah had a valid point as well. Justin is in a stable organization and he good now
Yes they added DJ Moore who is a good receiver obviously, but purdy and tua have 1) offensive lines and 2) organizations that are not playing musical chairs with their head coaches and coordinators. This is the stability that CJ is eluding to.
It's like a group of people going to work and you constantly change leadership over and over, and then the company is like "hey we've decided to add a new agent, account manager, etc." without having the leadership in place. Is justin without fault in this? No, but we can't sit here and say adding DJ moore is supposed to solve anything. Plus, tua and purdy have way more weapons than Fields does.
EDIT: this was supposed to be a reply to a comment. Idk why this ended up here lol
Still facts 😂
Fields isn’t a starter in the league. He will right where he should be in Pittsburgh as a backup
But also Purdy showed brilliance in the off season before all of the noise he made. Kyle even called it out Purdy was better than Trey and Jimmy. Also look Purdy might be a QB who can won multiple rings by the end of his career. Also niners doesn't have a O line my man if you watch football you would know such a simple fact. People believe because we have Trent we have a stacked O line. We are a bottom middle tier O line at best. Purdy is able to scramble 90% of the time because that is what he excels at. Fields doesn't know how to read defenses and can't throw dimes. Fields just isn't a star. He can be a backup definitely. He might be able to pick up some extra wins while a QB goes down. But anybody with a brain knows fields isn't doing anything at the helm. Its like saying Jimmy G can go start on Kansas City and replicate what mahomes can do.
When the hell did Purdy have a top O-line? Bruh, just cuz Big Trent is the LT doesn't mean the rest are good. 49ers O-line was ranked bottom 20 last season. Without Trent, even worse.
49ers o line wasn’t good this year tho
Everyone in Chicago wanted this for Justin. They had to get things right while he was the quarterback. Justin paid for our shortcomings.
He’s absolutely right
Happy to see him with the Steelers now. Everything CJ Stroud said was on point.
You sound stupid. Poles didn’t even own a first round pick his first year and last year he brought in an OT and DJ Moore with the first. Can’t rebuild an entire team in a season, Poles is building for the future .

Unfortunately, Fields got the short end of the stick on a team with very few building blocks. Poles had no choice but to strip the roster limp-from-limp to build a contender for the foreseeable. People still can't seem to comprehend that.
They could've easily put Fields on a Love type extension, paid less than they'll be paying Williams and ended up with several more blue chip players on rookie contracts and more future draft capital that could be parlayed into a QB in the 26' class if Justin didn't became an MVP contender with the improved coaching and offensive skill players and line
@@jmoski57 you forgot to mention the part where Fields just wasn't good in own respects. Turning down open receivers, holding onto the ball longer than anyone, turning over the football more than anyone else since he was drafted, throwing a flat-out inaccurate football, etc. There are currently four starting QBs who were either drafted or signed by the same regime. Teams want their guy. Love and Fields situations aren't remotely comparable and they fall under different representations. Mario Nunez won't settle for his clients. It's quality over quantity and I'm not settling for mediocrity with a guy that doesn't have ties to his latest regime. This was the correct move.

Exactly, there are severel teams Justin should be starting for.
Fields definitely got the short end of the stick and had a really unfortunate rookie where everyone knew Nagy and Pace would be fired next year so it really made no sense to keep them, just a terrible ownership decision but lets not act like Fields was too good to trade away. Theres a reason he was traded for a 6th. I watched every Fields game, rooting for him year after year and he cannot read a defence at all or throw over the middle. Tremendous athlete and runner but a bottom 10 qb. Still tons of potential and i hope he tears it up in Pittsburg.
If Fields was "the guy" the bears would gladly trade away the number 1 for an even bigger haul last year and continue to build around Fields. He simply wasnt good enough to pass on a top 5 qb prospect in the last decade.
Ok I like your take but let's be real.... Who he had to throw too? Who was his QB Coach or the game coordinator to put him in a position to win games. Like you said you saw his game but did you really? The guy numbers in the first 3 quarters was awesome but he has the worst 4 quarter numbers in the league. Like you calling rpo in the 4 quarter. That guy wasn't a a RPO TYPE OF GUY IN COLLEGE. Like why every QB who can run has to be in that formation? He's a good QB it showed in college. Trevor got the players around him went to the playoffs Mac Jones had the pieces went to the playoffs Zack Wilson had a good team he just suck but Justin didn't get a shot like CJ is saying so they ruined Justin that's why Steelers got a steal in a 6 round trade. Steelers are going to do what's right by Justin because he'll have a vet to give him advice and better coaching staff than the bears. The bears want to sell tickets by drafting celeb because he's a Heisman winner so I understand but the bears are not good enough to turn them around.
@@desmondmadden6433 right no Qb is succeeding with multiple head coaches, coordinators. Donte pettis, Mooney and lesser weaker St brown brother at Wr 1, 2 &3.

CJ Stroud is a standup dude. I think I’m a Texans fan now
Both can be true - the Bears didn't support Fields enough (changing coaching staff, the roster teardown), and he didn't progress enough as a passer.
Bears fan and Justin Fields fan. He was unfortunately drafted 3 years too early.
Fields was drafted THREE ROUNDS too early. 😂😂
Cj one of my favorite playes!
Did anybody watch Fields play? When he did get decent protection, he stared down his hot receiver too long nullifying his #2's split second window that he had to get open. After 2 seconds he gets paranoid and drops his eyes and looks for a hole. Fields hardly ever kept his eyes downfield while in the pocket. Good QB's have good peripheral vision and move throughout the pocket while keeping there eyes on a receiver who is dashing across the field to an open spot! Also, watch the All-22 and you'll notice that he gets flustered easily and misses wide open receivers! I don't care if he had 3 of the best receivers; he doesn't throw with good anticipation nor can he process progressions quickly!
What pocket?? Jones was almost always getting handled. Again what POCKET??
Justin Barely had 1 Mississippi most of the time before his pocket collapsed. I used to count, it was amazing his scramble reflexes. He kept tons of plays alive where more non-mobile QBs would've been flattened.
@@MattyOkay thank you.... I've made the same observation as you.
Many times ....The pocket collapsed on Fields almost immediately. .
Eagles did the same after 2017 with Carson. Then soon as they got rid of Wentz, they started making so many moves to help build around Jalen.
Exactly the bears should of done this for fields
Exactly
Then he makes $40+ million in 2025 and the Bears have to get rid of some of the guys they picked up in 2024 to get better. What's Fields going to do with great receivers? He doesn't keep his eyes downfield long enough when he senses pressure. He drops his eyes and begins to look for a hole to run in! I liked Fields athleticism, but he can't process through progressions quickly in the pocket and stares down his hot receiver too long. Even if Marvin Harrison Jr. was his #2, he would hardly ever get the ball because Justin doesn't look off #1 quick enough. By the time he progressed to #2, the coverage would have caught back up already and is no longer open. This is why only one receiver last year had a productive year because most of Justin's throws were to his #1 target on those plays!
@@joeanderson444 they worked on fixing the OL for CW and not for Fields. I watched the games. The OL was patchwork.
The OL was constantly collapsing.( Most from the blindside). I analyzed this on most pass plays.
Another thing is the awful route combinations. Getsy designed routes that didn't get separation. Former Qb, JT O'Sullivan has commented on this. Getsy was a horrible Inexperienced OC, who never called plays in the NFL.
Fields' "processing" is fine. That's just a new way to say he's not smart, which would be a lie.
And in terms of money....what do you think is gonna happen when CW's rookie contract is up?
Ownership could've done a Jordan Love type contract with Fields when he time came.
Ownership has to quit being cheap. This resetting of contracts with Qb's has to stop. Overall... Poles always wanted his own QB... regardless. This was unfortunate for Fields.

Justin did get a raw deal in Chicago and I wish him nothing but success unless he’s playing the Bears.
Caleb Williams will be a good NFL quarterback by the end of this season and the bears will be a playoff team next year.
I agree Mr. Stroud!
Great explanation
The GM & Coach decided on Caleb after winning the Heisman his sophomore year. Justin had no chance with those guys. They never gave Justin a center, the only receiver they gave him was DJ Moore. We went a whole season with just Mooney at receiver....They half ass with Justin but rolled out the red carpet for Celeb!!! Chicago love Justin Fields!!
Regardless caleb is so much better
No he's not lol
They were slowly building up the team around Justin. But they also happened to have the #1 pick land right in their laps with Caleb Williams availble. If they didn't have a top 3 pick, they would have stayed with Justin and still used their top picks on WR and OL help.
Hey the Steelers are trying to make him a punt returner
He should thrive in that position!! As long as they don’t call a trick play and try to lateral 🏈😂!!!
They know that he isn’t a quarterback!😂
Unfortunately for Justin, Ryan Poles didn’t arrive until his second year. Poles had to clear out the trash from the previous regime, and there wasn’t enough time to set it up like this for JF1. It was an unfair situation, but if JF1 would’ve risen above it all he would probably still be here.
Don't worry, CJ Caleb is gonna get the same treatment.
How? They got everything in place now
100% about the money and resetting that rookie qb clock
Fields took over a playoff team, and won 7 games in 3 seasons. He has over 60 turnovers in 3 seasons. For advanced stats he had 35 score worthy plays, and 87 turnover worthy plays. 87. It took drew brees about 7 years to get that many. Fields sucks, point blank period.
Bears have always been a defensive drafting team. This is unprecedented they got a QB like Caleb.
Is that actually his hair at the front, or black felt fabric ?
this is the first time im hearing these two agree with eachother instead of arguing and i dont know how to handle it

Yeah and then a good tackle or guard at pick 9 too he would’ve been in a great place. I mean that o line let fields get freaking killed last year. I know Caleb likes to brag about how good he is in the pocket but it’s hard to do anything when you’re running for your life. That is something that not even the greatest qbs can overcome. Brady, Mahomes, and Burrow gave it their best shot but people really take a good o line and d line for granted. Like the Super Bowl was a perfect example of that because both kc and the niners’ d lines were completely wrecking plays all game. It starts up front and if you’re going up against a Chris jones type player with a weak o line… plays end before they start and then you’re just running around desperate
@@Zarab923funny that the oline got fields killed but when tyson bagent played he was the least sacked QB in the NFL. Cj doing to much talking for me , fields is trash, so trash they wanna use him on returns in Pittsburgh!!
Dude is doing a ton of talking for 1 year in the league…I get that he had a great rookie season but dude needs to chill a bit…
@@greatslambinodude's in the nfl and had a better rookie year than most veterans. He knows what he's talking about
@@greatslambino his single season is better then 99.999998% of players entire resume
@greatslambino yeah let's just listen to you random nobodies online who think they could run an entire organization 🙄
@greatslambino he sure does , the nfl adapts very fast .
Poles choosing to go forward with Caleb and trading Justin was his best move for the team but just as important, Poles insures his job for the next 3 years, even if Caleb under performs.
shoudve kept fields drafted marv & a online instead of rome
Absolutely right about that CJ Stroud bears won the draft can't wait to see what he does.🏈
Micah and Cj are on point..
Sad
They could have got major draft capital for that first round pick and help Fields. Every year he improved. Caleb has everything needed to succeed and if he dont then that is on him.
I love him saying this
Yeah well they friends so what is supposed to say? My dog is done?
Exactly Justin is a good qb
Fields had 3 full seasons and now goes to strong roster with an easy chance to win the starting job if you’re good
CJ just nailed in. Nuff said….
Love me some JF1 but we were starting to get into a investment issue. How many teams dropped the bag on a guy and regretted it. Like one GM said. If you are not sure is the guy year 3...he is not the guy. When are the different players in bad situations who did get better...Farve . Young etc
Can’t blame him for sticking up for his boy…..even tho his boy counts to 3 and then runs
It’s because it resets the qb clock
Caleb bawling
That’s crazy man Justin has to get it together fr
The time line didn’t work out we all wanted him to succeed, but an better opportunity presented itself, what would anyone do 😵💫
