Rod Strickland is arguably the most underrated in NBA history. He’s never made an All-Star but has great stats and impact with every team he’s been in. The handles are obvious, 1 of the best with the rock
Man Rod Strickland was sooo cold he always had the basketball 🏀 on a string, his handle was ridiculous, him, Isiah Thomas and Tim Hardaway changed the game with handles!
When Rod said " Pam Grier" I YELLED OUT " HELL YEAH!!" She was mine too. Also went to Truman H.S ( NE Bronx/ Co-op City ) class of '81. Met Rod at Gauchos gym around 2005, I said I dont remember you at Truman ( he would've been a freshman when i was a senior), and he told me he was at Rice HS his first 2 yrs of HS....came to Truman his junior year and the team took the state!!! Made me proud to be a Mustang when i heard about it while in the USAF. Usually PSAL teams don't win NY State title so it was SUPER special. Much respect to Rod for also mentioning Arnold " A-Train" Bernard a super player in his own right.
Super proud of the guys for making their own production company! They saw where showtime was going and made their own adjustments! That’s business fellas! Much love ATS team!
Mention what stands out about Rod. Talk about his court performance. Stop that childish underrated nonsense. You sound like a 12 year old. Y'all think that goofy sh1t sound good. Jus Sayin'
I needed this episode for personal reasons, the way rod express himself I carry myself the same way and some of the difficulties he had to overcome I’m experiencing now
Hey Shawn. I am old guy now and I’m very happy a young man is looking inwards. Rod was an exceptional talent who was late to mature as a person as bad habits weren’t corrected from within. Good luck with your journey. The fact you are looking from within is the beginning of a more positive journey/outlook.
I met Rod Strickland before at a carnival in Baltimore MD back in 96-97. I was 9 or 10yrs old. Everybody was surrounding him watching him destroy the carnival basketball game. Salute to Rod Strickland #Legend
The wisdom/knowledge/understanding in this episode is special .. its more than hoop .. its so good to hear grown men speak on life.. thank yall for walking this 34 year old through it
Rod Strickland Is One of my Favorite Point God's been a fan of his Game Since His Depaul Blue Demons days. In my opinion Rod is one of the Most underrated Player's in the League, He still holds the record for most assists in a game for the Portland. That spurs team was solid i thought they would win a chip. Rod very much should have been an allstar a few times. Salute from chicago.
Bronx legend & probably the most underrated NBA player in history. His bag was insane! The only guard in today’s game that had the skill level on par with Rod is his godson Kyrie.
Rod was the man ✌🏽 from Largo MD DMV. I work with Rod's best friend that was killed in a motorcycle accident. he gave my best friend 63 points in the New Jersey Jersey shore basketball league
Short story I met him in a restaurant in NY before the big east tourney in 2019. He has a presence about him, a hoopers aura. I wasn’t the same after I met him my handles always been on a string….J don’t what it is but ever since the day I shook his hand I could handle the basketball. It’s like his touch did something to me true story
One of the best self reflecting interviews . Rod was a great point guard in his day and never seemed to get the respect he deserved. But listening to him talk , it’s understandable why he didn’t quite get that respect! But in my book , a classy guy !
I had a chance to meet him in DC off of South Capital street in a club nice guy. And I got a chance to watch him hoop playing pick up ball at Run-n-Shoot. He is way, way, way, underrated!

Most underrated point guard of his era, dude was an absolute magician on the court.
Rod Strickland was a solid point guard during his day. Glad he's doing well and carrying himself with class these days.
Rod Strickland had an elite level layup package. Rod could get by anyone off the dribble, and then score on the best defensive big man at the rim.
The best interview hands down on All The Smoke. Rid’s emotional intelligence is powerful. Can sit down and listen to him talk all day.
Sorry Rod for the typo
