I had the same problem with PS 2021 (transparent layers) several times and always managed to resolve it exactly the way you explained. But the real nightmare is the massages: "Could not save as "yourfilename.psd" because of a program error” and “Could not complete your request because of a program error”. The solution for the first one is to make invisible all but one layer. Then you can save your .psd file. For the second, depending on what you were doing, the solution can be the same as for the transparent layers - duplicate layers that cause the problem, place them in a new document, do what you want to do, and bring them back in the main document. Any better suggestion? Hope Adobe will resolve these problems soon.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm experiencing other bugs with 2020 and now with 2021 versions. I'm using mac with OS Catalina which I suspect could contribute to the problem because previous versions of the OS did not give me any problems. Who knows. To be honest I'm scared to install the new Big Sur OS because maybe it's even more unstable.
@@psdbox On one mac I'm still using Mojave and everything is fine with 2020, but not with 2021. On the other mac I have Big Sur and a lot of issues with both 2020 and 2021. I'm definitely not impressed with Big Sur stability. 😫
I am on Windows 10 and have had the “Could not complete your request because of a program error” error on the recent versions of Photoshop. usually with layers of an imported image that is larger than the canvas. I have been deleting the layer and re-importing. Photoshop has just been updated to 22.11 so I am not sure if the problem still exists.
Thank for your good way, but it's not only doesn't show the layer, the pixel of many layer was lost, so cannot do like this. Hope photoshop fix this error soon :( Btw I use PS Cc 2022 on Mac Bigsur
I got a crash while saving. Opened it in Krita when photoshop wouldn't even open the document, which worked like a charm, it allowed me to save several layers. Sadly the most tedious part was beyond salvaging :(
my files got corrupt and this method is also not working
