The Golden Hour is such an amazing concert. The opening song Eight has IU descending from heavens like an angel and then her voice thundered out "Forever Young", just sent us the chills. The Lights radiate out from her like the rays of sunlight over the raptured audience. Then the heavens burst out with fireworks in celebration. How could we not love IU 😍🧡🧡🧡
When the screen opened, it was black and white, she was a dark figure behind the gap of screen. Then she floated out the gap , it became colorful, she was with royal red dress and in the center of bright sun .The visual impact and statement were insane. Maybe the sad moment had really became more beautiful memory.She had the first time smile singing this song. IU is so soft yet extremely strong. That smile , could not find any word to describe it.
Personally, I think IU sees 'Eight' as a tribute to the people she's lost. Not a way to cry over the tragedy... she likely did some of that while writing it originally... but a way to commemorate the beauty of their lives, regardless of how short or difficult they were. It's her means of saying that she doesn't regret knowing them; that she feels proud and joyous that she had the opportunity to be in their lives. At least that's my take. I don't know if she's ever plainly explained the song or how she feels when performing it.

In the animation (during the final chorus) a girl is crouching down but someone reaches out to her. They start to dance under the orange sun. During the final lyrics the guy disappears into the orange sun and the girl is left by her self. 🌅

I was broken-hearted after I watched it, for two reasons: 1. I had flashbacks of what she went through while watching and it hurts knowing that she’s been through that 2. It’s a celebration of IU - of her triumph, of how she overcomes those dark days and yet I wasn’t there to witness it. I cried like baby when I first saw the video, still cries and so what. Every time I think how she’s enduring things, it hurts, esp after I found out abt her ear, it was never the same. Knowing IU, she will always say she’s okay, she knows we’ll be worried sick, of course she knows her UAENAS so well and that’s what’s beautiful about her but somehow sad. I hope her ear will get better soon and heal completely 🥺💜

Don't worry I did the same. I actually buried a child who was found hanging in the backyard while I was sitting at the hospital holding my special needs childs hand after a hate crime against her. She had 2 head traumas and a coma. The principal called me to tell me her sis passed. When she woke up with the help of medical meds to wake up. We had the trauma team, therapists, doctors, and it was on me her mum to tell her that her sis passed that way. She held that in over 3 years and refused help. I'm awake crying with you right now. I can't sleep, eat, breathe, and CONSTANTLY have to stay awake because SHE FINALLY just realized it hurts so bad and was beyond triggered at school when a racial hate attack happened the day she was forced to watch a suicide prevention video while crying and begging to take a break like her IEP clearly said. She came home. Smiled, laughed, hugged me, and asked to go to bed early. She took 2 bottles of pills and a knife to herself that day. I IMMEDIATELY put her in the car and got her to trauma, she spent over 3 months in long term care recently just got out. Turned 16 and felt guilty she's 16 when her sis never made it to 13. She's in crisis treatment and I'm DAY TO NIGHT living in fear she will leave me in such a way. When I watched IU performance here I BALLED. I CANNOT EVEN EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I CRIED. I replay it over and over like JONGHYUNS ELEVATOR song that is REALLY hitting home for me right now. SO TRUST ME WHEN I SAY IT'S OKAY TO CRY LIKE THAT. SENDING MY LOVE, HUGS, AND STRENGTH TO YOU.
