- Apple launched their self-repair program for MacBook's and sure enough the prices are as hilarious as we thought they'd be. Want to buy the battery by itself? Not happening! You have to buy the entire top case with the battery glued in. Want to buy some random screw? Sure thing! $5. Want to buy a schematic? Nope! Not happening!
Don't have a screwdriver or suction cup to open the bottom case on your MacBook? Apple's got you covered with their $300 tool kit, or just $50 if you want to rent it. Absolute jokes.

Apple designs their repair programs to be unappealing, so customers won't make use of it.

Supposedly they will eventually sell the battery by itself. But I’m not holding my breath. And yes hahah this is 100% what happened with the $5 parts everywhere.

Apples “repair program” is just another way to stick it to the customer. They don’t give a drip of piss about anything but lining their pockets. Oh, and about the schematic…. If you search just hard enough you can find them, rumor has it they fall out of trucks sometimes 😅

Got a bit of a shock. I was thinking: can't be more than $200, turns out you need to buy half of the laptop with the battery.
I’ll be honest, I was also surprised at the price, and my expectations were LOW. Let’s just hope they stay true to their word and allow us to replace just the battery in the future.
They should sell a $300 battery removal kit and an $80 battery.

I use my 2012 macbook air. For work i have my workstation, but to watch netflix, or suft the web that I5 and 8gigs of ram is beyond enought.
