I enjoyed this though I believe Barron Collier would be rollin' in the grave to know how little of his beloved natural Florida is left... Especially considering the oil drilling in the Everglades with plans to EXPAND for MORE DRILLING in the works. Like most of Florida hasn't already gone to development, when will it end?
11:00 minutes into the video, they add that it was only 5 months after Barron Collier married his wife, she gives birth to their son. They throw that in so that everyone knows that they "had to get married." Makes one pause to wonder what the motive for this video truly was, as it is not turning out to be a really positive biography. The family refers to him as a diamond in the rough, a cherry-picked quote used by those making the video. Some of the information could have been left out of the video, as I am sure his wife never dreamed that they would keep the gossip, and stories alive eons after their deaths. I can not imagine the shame of it being told, that went around during that era.
Thank you I moved here from Massachusetts four years ago I love to hear about the history of Florida, so thank you very much!
Moved to Brevard three years ago. I love catching up on all this history
