  • KEN STROUD plays a March "GAILY THOUGH THE WORLD" composed by Allan Macbeth
and published by Boosey & Hawkes, on the HAMMOND COLONADE Electronic Organ.
CLS Cassette Album released by ComptonLodgeStudios, Sapcote, Leicester, UK.
Hammond Colonade loaned by Taylors of Abbey Street in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.
Unfortunately these "electronic" organs just don't have the quality sound
    produced by the tone-wheel instruments.
    Recording from ComptonLodgeStudios Archive Collection,
Producer and Recording Engineer Paul Kirner.
Video uploaded by ComptonLodgeStudios, Compton Lodge,
South Street, Ynyshir in the Welsh Rhondda Valley.

I never played a Hammond Colonnade but I have played an Elegante. Very nice march tune to play on a Hammond.

Thanks HD7100, Ken was a very good pal of mine, a real Cinema Organist, who started his professional career at age 14!
He played for our audience at Compton Lodge in Sapcote many times. He was Musical Director for Zetter's Bingo clubs for many years
and we did their halls all over the place with great success. These mainly ex-cinema properties included Worcester, Banbury, Nuneaton,
and many more. In later life his health was rather poor and I dashed around the country to play at these Bingo Palaces and then
rushing back to Compton Lodge to play for our afternoon Coach Parties. God Bless Ken until we meet again,
