Track taken from Cassette Album released by ComptonLodgeStudios, Sapcote, Leicester.
Ken recorded dozens of albums for CL Records & Tapes and was one of the most popular artistes
on the Organ Club Circuit, who put on a great show on both Electronic and Theatre Pipe Organs.
Ken was Musical Director and Organist for Zetters Leisure Clubs for many years,
where he was regarded as a great asset and highly popular with the Club Members and Staff.
Kenneth William Stroud was born in 1923, and he studied the organ under Walter Marshall,
Frank Wright F.R.C.O and cinema organ under Harold Honess. His first Professional Cinema Appointment at age 14 years was at the Globe Theatre, Clapham Junction, then the Rialto York,
Ritz Potters Bar, and the Commodore Slough, before his appointment with Granada Theatres
with whom he stayed until joining H.M. Forces. He served with the Royal Armoured Corps at home,
then in Africa and Italy. Just before V.E. Day he was posted to the Central Pool of Artistes,
and Ken did over 600 performances with them and broadcast on the British Forces Network
in India and Austria. He was mentioned in American dispatches for entertaining in front line areas,
and hospitalised. When discharged he returned to his cinema organist career which lasted until his untimely death in the Midlands. His second wife Beryl was always a great help and support to Ken.
