- Finally got to meet Jimmy Oakes in person during the RWB Porsche build that took place in Connecticut. He's such a cool and down to earth guy that it felt like Jimmy and I have been long time friends. He was super cool in inviting us back to his awesome shop, to hang out and check out his sick car collection and current builds.
I'll never get tired of watching people walk around Jimmy's shop. This is what dreams are made of
Jimmy is one of the most humble and down to earth people I’ve met. Such an awesome dude and made us feel at home in his shop
Same dude, I love hearing him chat about the cars casually compaired to videos when he’s trying to make his content. Has a slightly different vibe. it’s nice to hear other people admire his work and see how humble he is about it.
This was a fun one to watch, feel like I learned more about the car culture. Jimmy looks real down to earth

I appreciate the compliment and for the sub. Funny thing is I just met Jimmy a couple hours before that video for the first time. It’s in my previous video with the Connecticut RWB build. Many ppl thought we were friends prior because the video looks so organic lol
Jimmys shop has been toured more than any other and it still never gets old. He deserves all the success and so much more. I havent missed a video since picking up the black coupe. Seeing what he built with almost no budget and what hes built is insane. So hyped for the future. Only going up from here.

@@SpeedRacerJoe Exactly. And the fact that he brought his people with him and gives them opportunities to be successful. From driving shitbox Saturn's to not having enough room to store all his cars Jimmy has remained the same person. He's the only UA-camr I buy merch from and pay for patreon. More funds means more builds and homies on the team. Also glad it brought me to your channel! Always down for Porsche content.

I watch all of Jimmy’s videos as well and even being there, his builds felt new and fresh to me haha 😂. Seeing things in person is definitely a different experience than just watching it through the lens of a tv or phone.

jimmy's channel is the vibe =. learned so much from just watching him build all his cars , makes it look so easy. nissonda is the best there honestly she's the inspiration for my first project that just spiralled down the rabbit hole and is now way overboard.

@@SpeedRacerJoe I'll speak on behalf of Jimmy when I say, even though it doesn't have the full documentation verified yet, you can't touch that car since it may actually be one of the only original precursors to RWB left. Nakai may have worked on that car from back when he was with SunBurst! Can you imagine if that's true. OG rwb 964 before RWB became its own thing 😁🙌🏾
@@projectveronicae3072 that’s very true. We had a long talk about that after the video and we both came to that possible conclusion. I think the history of the 964 has a unique level of mysticism around it and he should leave it as such. And ppl love hearing a good story around a car. I definitely vote to RWB the red shell

Nice shop Review! Loved the video, One thing to recommend, please don't play too much with the Camera Exposure settings while recording, edit the clips You need later in case of correction. It drove me crazy the first 5 min of the video..

Fun fact….a B15 spec V was one of my early “race car” builds back in 2005 😂
I dunno how long you've followed Jimmy for, but several years ago at his old shop down the street (which is either his friend Derek Bootleg Burton's space or Drew's space now, they're neighbors), the shop next door at the end of that unit was a bunch of dudes that exclusively dealt with fwd sr20 cars.
My friend had needed some parts for his NX2000 and these guys had a car they were parting out over there, we also got a shop tour. They had at least one full race car b13 Sentra se-r in there, and a bunch of Neo VVL heads. My friend's NX was actually Pulsar GTi-R swapped, but he retained the fwd because it was too much work for one person... he had already spent about 10 years on the project by himself.
A different friend had a b15 spec-v back when they were new and for a few years afterwards... he blew 4 engines under warranty. The last one was safe because the internet had figured out the factory header was the cause of the failures, and he had swapped to an aftermarket one. We frequently hung out at yet another friends' shop in Jimmy's first shop complex, the one he had when he started his channel.
Jimmy's channel is just jimmy funding and showing off his Carcaine addiction.

Filming needs work: autofocus, too zoomed in, show more of the background. You’re literally filming only face, zoom out. Not bashing, just constructive criticism
That visit wasn’t planned. Kind of happened spontaneously lol. So we had to work with what we had. We had to shoot at such a short range so the camera could pick up the audio. Since we didn’t have our mics. We’ll definitely be ready and well equipped next time lol
