That chicken is a hoot!! I'm so glad you shared this as I bought a couple of cotton dresses that when trying them on at home realized they looked absolutely horrid on top but cute on the bottom. I had tucked them away thinking maybe I could use them in a sewing project. Now I know exactly how to fix and enjoy them! Thanks Kelli.

Haha she was SO curious about the camera! And I laughed at your comment on the dresses looking "horrid" I have had this experience also- it's awful!! Hopefully they've worked out with repurposing them!

Good for you, Kelli! As someone who has always worn skirts and dresses, I would add that you can also layer UNDER a dress or skirt for winter. I wear long-sleeved thermal shirts with tights or leggings (fleece-lined are expensive but SO worth it!) as a base layer. If I wear leggings, I add thick socks (Heat Holders are awesome). With that, you can wear almost any kind of skirt or dress! I don't have an all natural fiber closet, but I recently bought a cotton petticoat that can be worn under polyester (etc.) to keep the material from touching your skin. That also adds a layer of warmth! There are so many ways to wear dresses in the winter without sacrificing comfort or practicality! It's encouraging to know that women did it for centuries before us, some of them in much worse conditions than we live in. 🙂 Congratulations on your feminine journey! God bless!

Fleece tights are so expensive, so when I've worn them till they are too ugly to wear, I just cut the feet off. I wear them under my longest skirts with knee-hi socks. If it's really cold, I layer more than 1 half slip underneath.

Thank you Samantha! I always appreciate your comments! And your ideas! I will have to look into the fleece-lined leggings, I can totally see how they are worth investing into! And your idea of the cotton petticoat- genius!

Oh Kelli, I was so in need of a video like this. I have been feeling a bit ‘blah’ about my winter skirts and dresses, so it is so nice to have some fresh inspiration! I really like your idea of maxi skirts in the winter…it looks much more streamlined than being cut into three sections of top, skirt, leggings…
I also like tall, slim boots in the winter… mine are like brown suede riding boots. I find that they really keep my legs warm, while looking very elegant.
You are looking so lovely in your dresses 🌷

That being said, I still thoroughly enjoy and appreciate these videos from you even though you don’t feel “qualified.” We can all get stuck in a rut or have problems with our dressing that need a solution. Yay for Clarks! I love my clarks, I also got mine from a thrift store and love them! Mine are the slip on loafer style in brown. I recently found a different style in blue.
That's funny about the wool skirts - I would be in my glories! I joke I would be a librarian if I never married. The teacher/ librarian style makes me feel sophisticated. 😉
I prefer skirts right now for nursing, but I recently found a Pact dress at a thrift store for $2! And it was nursing friendly. I wasn't crazy about the print but I got it because I knew from you that it is quality! It's a nice and comfortable day dress.

Great video! a pair of black wool underwear can also go under cotton leggings for added warmth and frequency benefits of the wool toughing your skin. Danish Woolen delight is a great site for those. Even a tank top under it all can add warmth. Northern MN gets -50 F so layering isn't optional. Hoping to move somewhere warmer soon! button up dresses under some sort of shirt works great for nursing also. Gunna find my daughters and I beautiful wool coats at the thrift store - there are always so many. Thank you for this Kelli! Viva Cristo Rey!
