    Good stuff Mark. Enjoyed the bass information especially. A lot of people don’t realize smallmouth bass aren’t native to the area.

    Hi Mark, great video! I'd say Levi was a very lucky guy to have such an experienced group of paddlers for his first trip to Quetico.
    I did a similar trip to this (in reverse) in 2022 and camped on Jeff and Agnes Lakes.
    We are already planning our trip for this year. This all because of you, my friend... :)
    I was very sad to see that Jeep passed away. I always enjoyed the opportunities I had to meet and talk to him.
    Hope all is well with you, take care!

Also, I made the attached video last summer and sent it but for some reason I don't think you've seen it. Mark another great video! I've been waiting patiently for you to post, hoping I made it into the video!
    Was great to run into you in quetico on the portage between North Bay and Burke and share a brief conversation! Made my whole trip. Keep up the great videos, and safe travels on your next adventures.

      Wes, the pleasure of meeting on the trail was all mine. YOU made MY day. Please stay in touch through the channel and keep up the great work on exploring the greatest canoe wilderness in the world. You should be very proud of eight trips under your belt at such a young age. Keep it up!

    I was all in with you until you ate the bass. Camped at that Basswood/Bailey beach myself 25 yrs ago-late Oct. one of my most precious paddling memories.

    Just made the trip from Moose to Agnes and back last month. Such a beautiful trip. We were able to camp next to the falls on Agnes, that was a nice large site with an amazing view. We were also deceived by the portages, high water levels and a storm on our trip north made them a nightmare. The way back was better as things had dried out, but the portage from Sunday to Meadows has to be the toughest that I have ever done! But Agnes was well worth it. Additionally, the farthest south campsite on Sunday lake is on a rocky peninsula. That was a neat camp. Also, the grassy bay where the portage from Sunday Bay to Sunday lake is was a great bass fishing spot.

    Nice video. While your Sunday Lake site was not our favorite, the Agnes site is excellent....we were there in August '23, just a few weeks ahead of you.

      @markpotaczek  9 місяців тому

      You sure did a good job at campsite cleanliness as the Agnes site as it was immaculate when we arrived. That point is a geographic landmark for me, as it is easy to recognize and denotes the start of the final funnel down to Louisa Falls, one of the last exits from Agnes (South lake) while heading south toward the falls. We heard alot of wolves at that spot, even during the day. I wonder if you heard any. . . Thanks for watching and especially your interesting comment

    Mark , very important question Which BWCA or Quetico has more walleye ?

    • @markpotaczek
      @markpotaczek  8 місяців тому +1

      Great question, Brian. Although I'm not really qualified to answer, my guess would be that there are probably more catchable walleyes in Quetico because it only gets a fraction of the traffic that the BWCA does. Less pressure usually means more fish, and easier to catch. I'm not the greatest fisherman out there, but I try to position myself on prime lakes with little pressure, and that is my key to success up there.
