    Stayed at the kings inn last year and the walk to Disneyland wasn’t bad at all and for the price you can’t beat it. Super clean and friendly staff as well

      The walk isn't too bad at all and King's Inn always has good pricing. It is too bad they started charging a parking and destination fee.

      @risen7602 you are welcome, it was a new change in mid-January. Parking is 20+tax and the destination fee is 7.98 +tax per day.

      @risen7602 you may want to look into the Alpine Inn. It’s on the corner of Katella and Harbor. They charge a small resort fee of $10. But they have pretty reasonable rates typically. We have enjoyed our stays there. Have fun on your trip!!

    I have to say, even just watching real time from King’s, impresses upon me the relevance of my gut feel - if you can afford the hundreds more, stay as close as possible!

      It isn't too bad. When we stayed at the Cambria, we would commonly take the Toy Story Shuttle, you can do this too at King's Inn. It is probably 8 minute walk to Toy Story. The wait for the shuttles isn't bad if you rope drop and as a bonus, you go through security if boarding before 11am. Mid morning can be crowded at the lot. On the return when the fireworks are over, the wait can be long.

  • @chrishagglov1300
    @chrishagglov1300 Рік тому

    What is your thoughts, walk to the gate from the hotel or wander over to the Toy Story lot and catch the shuttle? Also, do you know what they charge to park a vehicle?

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  Рік тому +1

      Hi. Thank you for watching! The pick up for Toy Story lot is a good distance from the Katella side of the parking lot. It is kind of in the middle of the lot. So you would need to walk down Katella, cross and walk to the middle of the Toy Story lot. Then, depending on the time of day, you might also need to wait in a queue to board the Toy Story shuttle. Coming back to the hotel from the parks, the lines can also be quite long to board the Toy Story shuttle. It gets pretty congested at peak times. So keep that in mind too.
      Our best guess is that it would be quicker to walk to the parks and walk back to the hotel, versus walking to Toy Story and taking a shuttle.
      I just looked at Kings Inn website and they do not charge for parking, the parking rate is included in the room rate. Disneyland charges $30 a day to park.
      Please let us know if you have any other questions!!

    Hello!! First of all thank you for your channel! It has been a precious source of information for the last 2 days!
    I have a question as I booked a stay at the Kings Inn. I am a female solo traveller so safety is always a huge worry of mine. I saw in your review comments section that your wife didn't feel safe about walking in the area of the hotel and I wanted your opinion about it. Is it that bad? I could see a few hobos in the streets in this video but didn't seem too bad however at night could it be more dangerous? Do you have advices? Maybe walking to the park in the morning but using the shuttle or uber/lyft at night? Thank you in advance!

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  Рік тому +1

      Hi! Thank you for watching! I am personally not a fan of the corner of Harbor and Katella. I feel more comfortable walking in that area if Jim is with me. It’s not awful, it’s just a personal preference. Usually when you’re at the corner of Harbor and Katella at night, there are a lot of other people around walking back to their hotels as well. But once you make that left turn to head to Kings Inn, there will most likely be less people, because there are only a handful of hotels down that way. If I were alone, I would probably walk to the parks in the morning and Uber back at night.
      There is another option. You can walk through the Garden Walk Mall instead. That would take you out to W. Disney Way, and then you can head up to Harbor Blvd and bypass that corner ☺️ I would also be comfortable walking this way as I feel safer walking in the mall and on W. Disney way. If you want to check out this video, it shows the walk through the mall:
      ua-cam.com/video/o_pzr6hocTo/v-deo.html
      It starts at the JW Marriott, which is essentially inside the Garden Walk Mall. Kings Inn isn’t too far from the entrance of the Mall.
      I hope that helps!! And again, thank you for watching!

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  Рік тому +1

      Here is a better video showing the walk. It is the opposite direction, Disneyland through the Gardenwalk but it will give you a better idea of the way. At 5:54 is when you turn left towards the GardenWalk and 9:54 when you enter the GardenWalk. We don't walk all the way to Kings Inn in this video but it is only a few doors down. ua-cam.com/video/x9LsoUpbSBo/v-deo.html&ab_channel=AnaheimParkTourist

      I've gone to Kings Inn with just daughter and I, totally feel 100% safe, the few homeless you see they keep to themselves and don't bother you. Last October I was by Castle Inn, i only saw a few homeless right near the big street to cross by best western park place,.

      It is kind of far but it is one of the nicest budget hotels around. Last we checked, the closer hotels are pushing $300 dollars a night and for many families right now, that breaks their budget. This is still one of our top picks if you are on a budget but looking for a decent place to stay. Thank you for the compliment and for watching.

    Do you know how flexible they are for a 5th person? They don't seem to have any rooms listed for more than 4. We are also looking at the Islander and Portofino, and, based on your recommendation, the Alpine. We really wanted Del Sol (proximity), but they only have the bunk bed room for 3 of the 5 nights we want in March.

    • @pererau
      @pererau 2 роки тому

      Also, the Days Inn by Wyndham is super cheap for 3 Queens, but the reviews seem to not be great. Have you stayed there? Thanks! Love your channel

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you for the kind comments! I am not 100% on this but I believe the rooms have capacity for the fire code. You can probably get away with 1 more person in the room but it isn't recommended due to capacity limits. If you are going the weekend of March 12, there is a large convention in town and a lot of the room rates are high. We are currently doing a hotel search for that exact weekend.
      I always recommend checking hotel reviews from Trip Advisor, Yelp, and Google reviews. You usually get the trends and you are able to see if the hotel is good or not. Our goal for the channel is to stay at most of the area hotels. However, there are probably around 30 we will never stay in due to the bad reviews or the hotel being known as a bad hotel on Disney forums.
      We have not stayed at the Islander personally. Our friend did pre pandemic, 2019. He ended up getting bed bugs and they hitchhiked home with him. It was a absolute nightmare for him to get rid of them. This of course can happen anywhere and recommend doing a thorough inspection of the room if you choose to stay there. He did say it was a good location.
      We have never stayed at Days Inn on Ball. Full disclosure, we had an awful awful awful experience 20 years ago at another hotel in that area. It was an absolute dump and we have been very wary about staying in a hotel in that area. Our experience at this hotel is one of the reasons we started our channel. We have looked at the reviews of Days Inn and some of the pictures are terrible. If I am not mistaken, one of the reviews shows a picture of the mattress and it is completely stained. The hotels that get decent reviews in that area are Anaheim Majestic, Travelodge, Staybridge, and Springhill suites. We have not stayed at any of the aforementioned hotels but plan to in the future.
      We haven't stayed at the Portofino and shied away from that hotel. We have heard it isn't as clean as it should be and the walls are paper thin. Check out all three websites that I mention above for the reviews if you are looking to stay here to make sure.
      Alpine is great and the room type we picked was awesome. We have an experience video on it but haven't published it yet for some reason. We were very happy with our stay there and think you would enjoy it. It is a smaller property and it was reasonably quiet.
      Another hotel to check out is Alamo Inn and Suites. We have a video filmed there but not released yet. This hotel was a pleasant surprise. I paid $110 a night if I remember correctly, the room was nicely updated and the grounds were nice. They have family suites available. The beds were comfortable.
      We also have Camelot Inn and Suites filmed and they have a family suite. The hotel was nice and great proximity to the park, the hotel decor is very similar to Tropicana. Beds are similar to a Best Western or other hotel chain.
      Eden Roc does have a 3 queen room. The hotel was nice and I want to say our only complaint was the bed was a bit firm for us.
      Sonesta ES Suites has excellent prices but is a bit out of the way. There are two Sonesta's near one another and I believe we stayed at this particular one, when it was a Holiday Inn. They have bunk beds and the price is right. Our main complaint was the doors were loud when they closed. Crystal was pregnant at the time and we were trying to sleep in when staying there. People coming and going kept us awake.
      Also you may want to check out Hilton Garden Inn on Manchester, they have a queen pull out bed or their sister property Home 2 Suites. A wild card hotel for you is Radisson Blu. We are staying there in January and the rates are decent. They have family rooms that can hold a lot of people. It is about a 20 min walk.
      There is another property with three queen beds on Harbor but the hotel is escaping me. I will reply when I remember. I hope this is a good start and don't mind helping you out. Our most recent trip we did a split stay between Best Western Mini Suites and Camelot. BW only had one night available, and we moved to Camelot afterwards. It is a bit of a pain but you can probably swing this at Del Sol. Just check their parking policies as you may have to park at Disney lot on move day.

      @@AnaheimParkTourist wow, thanks for such great detailed advice. We will look into all those hotels and cross Days Inn right off the list. When you change hotels, how do you manage the gap between check out and check in with luggage?

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  2 роки тому +1

      @@pererau We typically store the luggage in the car. We normally have to park at a Disney Lot since a large number of hotels aren't letting you stay parked past check out time. If me, I would call the next hotel to see if they can store your luggage and to see if you can park early.

    • @pererau
      @pererau 2 роки тому

      @@AnaheimParkTourist Okay, so my wife and I spent way too many hours going back and forth over all those hotels that you recommended and weighing the pros and cons. In the end, we had our decision and called Del Sol to ask about storing our luggage like you recommended, and the manager decided to override the system and book us for all 5 days in the bunkbed room even though only 3 of them were bookable online. She said, "we get cancellations all. the. time." So we are set up at Del Sol for the whole time, which will be nice peace of mind, and I'm looking forward to being able to walk back over there and grab a quick nap during the day to get off my feet and back.
      For what it is worth, their parking prices will be going up at the start of the year to $22 per night (almost a 40% increase!) which adds up quickly! Still will be cheaper to drive from Northern California, but we are very tempted to take the train since who needs a car when you are staying across the street from Disneyland anyway?
