032 - IBJJF PANS 2024 - Gi/Masters 2/Blue Belt/Open Division Match 01

6 competitors signed up for the open division and because I don’t have points, I did not get the first round bye. So, off to face a feather weight. Having 50 pounds on him felt like a big advantage but I was absolutely surprised how technical he was. He kept me moving and on my A game. I managed to win by points. Talked to him after and he was so gracious and genuinely nice. I admired his desire to compete even against a potential Ultra Heavyweight.
