Is it that we wanted more than we gave...I remember lying on the top of the rainbow bridge watching the stars listening to this album on my 15 dollar convenience store "walkman" back in 87, some of my favorite memories in life.
Thank you so much ✌🏻 Also to me "No Rest .."will always be my number 1 NMA-Album . That's when my fever for this band started. Tomorrow I'll be on their gig in my hometown Kiel /Germany 🙌🏻💪
I'm a lifelong NMA fan since about the age of 15/16, am 43 now. My most treasured band of all time. Favourite NMA LP? Tough one. Winter is high up the list as is Vengeance and No Rest but it's probably Impurity for me. Really great video Joffy and I, for one, would love to hear some of your experiences and anecdotes from your years following the band. All the best
1. Thunder and Consolation 2. Love of Hopeless Causes 3. Ghost Of Cain 4. Impurity 5. Eight 6. No Rest For The Wicked 7. Today Is A Good Day 8. Unbroken 9. High 10. Between Wine And Blood
New Model Army-my favorite band of all time. Great video but I am not sure how "High" did not make your top 10, which is my favorite NMA album with T&C a close second.
I have done these with some fellow NMA fans. If you haven’t seen them then please check them out 🙏🤘Also like you, mates with one of the lads. ua-cam.com/play/PLvYyINVLB4A_RuHeNj4cDCSGgn-oCY8t1.html
I can't tell you how jealous I am of you, for knowing this Band so good, while I am sitting in my landlocked country and loving this Band for 32 years, I admire Justin Sullivan for all what he has done, my closest school friend brought me to NMA and since then I was hooked, by Justins honesty and directness. All the lyrics right into your face and no excuses. Simply and straight into your brain. If you want my #1 song it has to be Lib. ed.. The lyrics are so moving and if you where ever in a situation that you had to pass an insurmountable obstacle this song provides me with comfort and hope. Keep your head up and more NMA content please. Also subscribed and liked and thx for this good list. Tomorow I need to go to the shops and look what I can find.
Good list and will do further catchup listening based on your recommendations. Had a bit of lapse after the first four albums and I’ve missed a lot. Surprised Vengeance not on the list. And my current favourite is Autumn off Today Is a good day.
Well done Joffy, Have followed NMA since around 84 and have done my best to keep pace since. Can't do a best of list myself it keeps changing. Later stuff I listen to more but older stuff cant be beat for LIVE delivery at a gig. Have fave tracks from every album. From Here, though is hard to beat from start to finish. Keep er Lit Joffy. Belfast Gav.
Im same.. My first gig was 1985, then i did every gig to 1993.. I was in Q mag from one tour... It was raining today yesterday and the day b4.. Lol.. Brilliant band i still love them....i wish they did more music on how the new world order has taken over.. Ie anti jab ect.. But weve got tom MacDonald for that i suppose lol..
For me: Thunder And Consolation Ghost Of Cain Impurity The Love Of Hopeless Causes Eight Winter Between Dog And Wolf Vengeance High Strange Brotherhood No Rest From Here Today Is A Good Day
My picks would be totally different, but I totally agree with you about the band. Surprised you didn't pick the Peel Sessions album. It has my favorite version of Drag it Down.
I really like this post.. and I love people who are loyal to bands unconditionally. No vengeance? Anyway, here goes 10. High 9. Between Dog and Wolf 8. Winter 7. From Here 6. Between Wine and Blood 5. No Rest 4. The Ghost of Cain 3. Impurity 2. Vengeance 1. Thunder and Consolation Got Thunder and Consolation the day it came out and me with four other friends either pulled a sickie from work or bunked the day from college to go out and buy the album. I have never done that before to buy a record and will probably nevber do that again. Fave songs: Vengeance, Running in the Rain, Better than them, 11 Years, Believe it, Living in the Rose, Never Arriving, Devils Bargain. Thanks for posting. p.s. Did you have a pair of wooden clogs? And were you a part of their following the Militia?
Thanks a lot for the list! They changed my life as well. I moved from America to England in the 1990's because they didn't tour here...true story. I've lived in England off an on over the years. Recently my favorite albums have been High and Carnival. Rivers is probably my all time favorite New Model Army track at the moment. Maybe give Carnival another look. Along with High, those songs aged particularly well. I didn't like it nearly as much when it came out as I do today. I'll be retiring in England in the summer of '23. Maybe I'll see you at one of their shows. Have a great day! Mike
Great list ...honestly NMA dont have bad albums its really hard to pick one to another they only have better albums to depend on the era you like i start with the old ones and it takes me lots of times to dig today stuff but now i mostly listen them
Try to name any other band whos made actually "relevant" music for over 40 years.... "From Here" proves how truly special New Model Arny are. Nice vid, Joffry if you're curious, in the US if you polled us, "Ghost of Cain" would win out overwhelmingly -it resonated the most by far here.
@@numajoff I was interviewed in an American music magazine last year, and they asked me if I could be in another band who would it be,.. I answered "bass player in New Model Army" -funny thing is I havent played bass in decades -just guitar in bands for the last 2 decades -but thats the role I want!!
Not sure that would be my top 10. I didn’t think Impurity was great. Love of hopeless causes was exciting cos of the change of musical direction at the time so would be up there for me. Think Ghost of Cain and Thunder and consolation are my top 2. The music means different things to different people though so appreciate everyone’s choice will be different
great video and yes they are absolutely underrated. it makes me so sad. my brother and i are the only people around here who know of them. i live in the US in pennsylvania and they're just so obscure here. i was so lucky to see them 8 times when they came to philly, baltimore and dc. i have been a fan for 35 years now which is insane to think about because i am 41 years old haha. they used to play "white coats" on mtv once in a while and that is how i discovered them. been hooked ever since. that is amazing you are friends with Justin and the gang! i met him and Dean several times. super nice guys. i hope they all come back to the states again soon. i miss them terribly. sadly i haven't heard much of the newer albums because they're not as easy to come by here. i used to find their stuff at record conventions or i bought their stuff at their shows. i don't do much shopping online so i have really been slacking on the newer stuff but i heard its fantastic. my top ten list: 10. today is a good day 9. no rest for the wicked 8. impurity 7. thunder and consolation 6. strange brotherhood 5. carnival 4. the love of hopeless causes 3. eight 2. ghost of cain 1. vengeance
Vengeance for me and those early singles whilst Morrow was in the band and being at Bradford Uni in the 80's all links together.
Is it that we wanted more than we gave...I remember lying on the top of the rainbow bridge watching the stars listening to this album on my 15 dollar convenience store "walkman" back in 87, some of my favorite memories in life.
Really enjoyed your reviews. No rest for the wicked top album for me also.
Thunder and Consolation is a perfect album !!!
Glad you like it
NMA🔥🔥
Thank you so much ✌🏻
Also to me
"No Rest .."will always be my number 1 NMA-Album .
That's when my fever for this band started.

Have a awesome time

What about Strange Brotherhood? This one's my Top 5 for sure! Nice choice anyway, thanks for posting!
Great choice it's a top 3 for me (also my very 1st rock concert ever)
One of the best bands ever. I have made a few videos featuring their lyrics on my own channel
I'd say From Here is outstanding, maybe the best.
1. Thunder and Consolation
2. Love of Hopeless Causes
3. Ghost Of Cain
4. Impurity
5. Eight
6. No Rest For The Wicked
7. Today Is A Good Day
8. Unbroken
9. High
10. Between Wine And Blood
Brilliant list. You can't really go wrong with any top 10 from this band. I would have also included Today is a Good Day and Carnival Redux.
New Model Army-my favorite band of all time. Great video but I am not sure how "High" did not make your top 10, which is my favorite NMA album with T&C a close second.
Coz we both different ppl with different tastes buddy. Thanks for watching
Great great video man. Hard to pick a top ten. Impurity, ghost, dog and wolf, from here, raw melody men, no rest, 1000 voices. All up there fella.
I have done these with some fellow NMA fans. If you haven’t seen them then please check them out 🙏🤘Also like you, mates with one of the lads.

I think winter is my favourite nma albums, very dark but great
Great choice
Winter really hits hard. A fantastic release.
AWESOME
Good list man 👍
For me their first four albums will always be no:1...closely followed by all the rest at no:2!
