They both originally said they thought he was being truthful. Then they needed that changed which is why the prosecutor isn't giving her all the required Brady material his first lawyers never had when they advised him to plead guilty.

He just plain ran out of money to defend himself and took a deal. Governmental misconduct is the reason to set asude his conviction. He was never sentenced yet.
