Another hurdle with renting in Cape Town is the deposit. You have to be ready to part with around 20k before you’ve even moved in. 😭 Also the closer you get to city centre the uglier the apartments become. The property market is really making me consider moving back to Joburg. I could just do a staycation in CPT here and there with all the money I’ll save.
