@20:30 Marking a rod stuck in the ice with tape and coming back to measure it feels like the least scientific measurement I've ever seen on any science show ever.
This research should be conducted by local people. There is no justification for "researchers" to fly around the world every year just to take some pictures and measurements.
@@misterfunnybones In the past 10 years I have only been on holiday once. I don't think everyone should live as I do, but I do support restricting air travel as much as possible.

I admire people that are adventurous. I am NOT so brave. At the rate of ice melting, it might just expose Noah’s Lost ARK in Turkey. That would make world wide EXCITEMENT.
If it gets cold anywhere, then the comment section denies shorter winters, longer summers, & warmer average temperatures. Cognitive dissonance & wilful blindness are coping mechanisms.
@@misterfunnybones Precisely. One of the comments above basically says: "I can see lots of ice in this video, therefore the climate is fine". I don't think there's much reasoning to be had with people like that. In general, someone who thinks they know better than thousands of experts worldwide who have dedicated their lives to a profoundly complex subject matter and have reached international acclaim in their field, based on nothing more than "I can't see it, therefore it isn't real", is not likely to be someone able to be swayed by facts-based counterarguments. Not that we shouldn't try, mind you, but I don't think we should waste too much energy on it when that can be used to meaningfully contribute to other, more meaningful debates and movements. I commend you for trying to engage anyway, I have done the same numerous times but after many years I have all but given up, so I know how tedious (and in my case sometimes infuriating) it can get
@@BinaryBlueBull I'm always baffled by the self-fulfilling prophesy argument: someone is polluting more than you, & there's nothing that you can do about it, so keep polluting at your present rate. That's like saying there's someone doing 50km/h over the speed limit, so it's ok if I stay at my present speed of 40 km/h over the speed limit!?
You are all brainwashed. If you gonna do everything to "change" the climate there will be a difference in temperature of 0,0007 degrees C°. The climate has changing since the beginning of time. Less polluting is a good idea, but don't act we're gonna change the temperatures by drinking out of a paper straw.

Beautiful Patagonia
I was there on Gray Glacier last year, it looked HUGE, infinite glacier over the horizon.
I had no idea how much bigger it was before.
Really great reporting.

This climate change is a real heartbreaker, thus far.
