    Also, what fridge is that?
    Did you buy the tent online ?

      I went to the store in Tennessee to buy and for them to install. The fridge is a 50qt ARB, that I got off eBay. Not sure they make that particular model anymore because the link I have for Amazon looks a little different

    Great video! What roof rack is that and does the CVT mount fairly easily? I have an FJ with the smittybilt tent as well - Looking to go hard shell and possibly swap out the stock rack cause it sits so high. Thanks!

      Warrior flat rack. Very low pro so the only challenge was getting under it but really simple mounting brackets (straight from the tent) Definitely recommend something lower than the stock. Looks and functions way better!

    Can you put down where I can buy the fridge and the rooftop?
    Is it noisy when it is windy?
    Final question nobody who review these tents talk about: What car do you recommend to use hard shell tent?

    • @fjeric8989
      @fjeric8989  3 роки тому +2

      Just got the fridge on eBay but if you want to buy new, arb website or 4wheelparts is where I've bought before. -- For the tent cascadiatents.com/ -- this has no wind noice or resistance. You will notice on the bulkier tents. As far as cars go.. they make three different sizes of this model (mt hood) I would recommend a flat rack and just whichever measurements match up. They're all the same length, it's the width that changes. I'm really just learning as I go, Hope this helps!

    Wondering how gas mileage is affected by having a hard shell rooftop tent.

    • @fjeric8989
      @fjeric8989  3 роки тому

      I don't notice it now that I have a wind deflector. It's on my car 24/7. I avg 12.5 mpg fully loaded.

    • @fjeric8989
      @fjeric8989  3 роки тому

      But also have 3" lift with 35s so if you don't have that. You wouldn't notice adding 100 lbs tent 😅

    • @williesayulita
      @williesayulita 3 роки тому +1

      @@fjeric8989 Thanks for getting back so quickly. I very much enjoyed your presentation. Do you know what gas mileage you got before installing a RTT. I like this one, Roofnest Condor and The Bush Co. Don't camp in much cold weather as I live in Mexico. Planning on coming north this summer to buy one. Also, Ididn't really understand the second part of your answer about the lift. Thanks

    • @fjeric8989
      @fjeric8989  3 роки тому

      @@williesayulita I'm not sure what the mpg was before. I never really kept up with it as the FJ is not known for having good. By the lift and tired I meant I have a ton of weight along with steal bumpers, fridge, drawers, and if you're running a stock vehicle these aluminum tents shouldn't effect you're mpg at all but they're the best to go with if that's something you do care about!
