Good demo video John. When you first take the side tenons down, take them down to the size required for the angled cut and it's a lot easier that trying to line up with the line that is not in view when you make the cut.
John - At the 11:08 mark you mentioned the cup chucks and referenced a video you were either going to make or already made. I searched your videos and couldn't find it. Hi John, I noticed that you were tightening the top thumb screw every time you advanced the cutter, personally I find that the top thumb screw only needs to be tightened when on the final slow finishing cuts. Just my thoughts. Looking forward to your further projects with this jig.

Thanks Rebecca. Not entirely sure if I have understood you correctly here. Are you asking if you could just hold the wood at one end in a chuck and then go all the way around the bottom? If so then yes you could. The instructions for the jig do not show that method but I see no reason why it would not work. With a piece of wood such as the one I was turning that would be a good plan I think. In a future video I have a square blank With a hot glued spigot on either end. It may not work for that as it would not receive enough support.

Thankyou John for your very well done introduction to Paul's Sphere Jig. I have ordered one and hopefully in about a week or so it should arrive. I live in the U.S. and I realize shipping is slow these days. I feel confident I should not have a problem in setting this up since I have now watched your video three times. By the way, who is the lovely music toward the end of your video by? Very nice!
That there looks like a very reasonable piece of kit Mr. Clothier....I'm sure you'll get plenty of use out of that... I might replace the 17mm through bolt with a slightly longer one though and wind a nyloc nut on the bottom of it...rather than just a plain nut... See how you get on with it....😉

You can but its really hard to set it up so that it is accurately in the centre once you put the sphere into the cup chucks. Rather than holding the blank between center I now hold it with a screw thread at the headstock. This means I can remove the tailstock near the end and take that end off with the jig. That just leaves the one end to remove

What are the sizes that jig could be used? Looking for something similar to make bottle stoppers or incomplete spheres such as an end cap
The jig will make a sphere from 0mm to 300mm. It would certainly work for what you suggested.
